The news reporter has my respect such a nice guy and asking for permission to step on the gentleman’s property that deserves my respect, kudos sir, and about the people who lost everything. I’m so sorry this happened. There’s not many words I lived in Southern California, myself I was born in Southern California I just have no words
I have once lost everything as well so I completely understand what this feels like. It is so difficult to let go of our attachment to things. When one is forced to do so, it redefines the meaning of life, and what is truly important: life itself. As devastating as this is, I believe there is immense personal growth in overcoming tragedies. In this darkness, that is the only light I see.
I agree 100% We lost everything in a fire and it was only stuff. No matter what we lost, we moved on with our lives. No one was hurt or died. Your comment about overcoming tragedies helps us grow is so true. It's important to look at what we can see from the darkness. Sometimes these tragedies lead to a better situation.
Having spend min 70k on renovating and having 100k worth of motorbikes and other very expensive stuf isn't exactly average ... i can't feel too sorry for these rich people. Its sad ofcourse, they still lost stuff but having the money to rebuild.. most of tge average people dont have the money to rebuild...🙄🙄🙄
@@Bree9999 These comments are frustrating. It angers me. The emotional toll even on the wealthy is great. Just because they have money to rebuild doesn't mean they don't feel. I bigger house and a bigger bank account doesn't mean you are less human. Yeah, sure they can rebuild but their emotional attachments to their home is no different than those with less wealth. Let's stop with the poor vs rich crap.
@RichardDeHaven ofcourse, as I said, they still lost lot of things. They still feel shock, I am not saying they don't. But they will get over it easier, they ont be homeless like many other hard working people. But can you imagine working hard, getting education, work hard to get a good job but till can't make it and only have ome house. What about those peope who have no family/friends around to go to? Who feel bad for them??? 🥺🥴
plus they have enough money to rebuild. Most of them do have. The majority does. What a drama to hear that a Diamond burned into the gold of a ring !!!!!!!! Nevertheless it is a tragedy and I do not want to know IF there is any wildlife alive after this mess. Not talking about rich folks, just about wildlife.
Well yes there’s always people going through worse in the world but just because a one year old is being whatever somewhere does not mean that what happens to you means any less. Some have money to rebuild but these people did not just lose their homes. They lost ID ,Social Security numbers, schools for their children and even grocery stores,Cars some people left their vehicles,I really hate the ignorance because the catch 22 going to the social security office without an ID and a id office without a social…not to mention passports and for people from different countries-green cards are almost 800 dollars for replacements I have one and USCIS takes at least a year to receive another one. You guys are stupid
What an incredible interviewer. This reporter is such an intelligent and compassionate man. You can tell that Carlos is a deep soul who's absolutely devastated by losing everything and is also loving and compassionate for wanting to find his daughter's jewelry box. My heart goes out to him and his family. Also, the woman with the 3 year old, may she find peace and solace and a great way to rebuild. Prayers for them all.
So true. I always think of those who were in the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and onboard the plane on PA. They didn't wake up that morning and think about the horrible tragedy that would come their way. One moment you are sitting at your desk with a cup of coffee and the next moment, you are sitting in a towering inferno. My home burnt down and the first thing I thought when I saw it was that I only lost stuff. Stuff can be replaced. Individuals can't be. Every one of us, no matter how rich, how poor,, our belief systems, our race, will face tragedy more than once in our lives. The Lord giveth, the Lord taketh away.
[3] And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? [4] And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. [5] For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. [6] And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. My heart goes out to all folks impacted. I live in New Orleans often coverage of hurricanes and the recent bourbon street attack can feel exploitative to me. These reports did an awesome job and were extremely kind and compassionate.
Watching that video broke my heart. This is what it means to have nothing when you once had everything. Leaving everything behind to immigrate to a new country with just one bag, leaving behind all memories and neighbors. But we started again. We rebuilt our lives, even better, with new memories. Just imagine being in this situation, without money, and unable to speak the new language, yet still managing to make it. You and your kids can do it too, even better!
I feel so sorry for those California homeowners who lost everything in the California wildfires. Please come to Texas where we don't have the Santa Ana winds and the houses are much cheaper than the skyhigh price of houses in California. God bless you all. 🙏
These propertys will never sell. No insurance company will insure. Tough for the ordinary folks who work hard for their homes and have lost their foundation.
That's my problem where i live, too. But this fire was very populated area not woods like where we live. It's the wind! Yet, one time, the wind actually blew the fire through here so fast, it couldn't burn much. Another time the same wind tha spread the fire suddenly turned sparing two towns and hundreds of homes here! Only God knows. I saw where the fire went right up to the steps of a home and stopped... embers were everywhere... how was it spared... how was ours spared 3x? The fire fighters said the were not going to even try to save it, but God did. Only He knows why. It had nothing to do with righteousness, or religion. It was just incredible Mercy that was undeserved. It is humbling, i can tell you. And if we had lost it all, i would still say it was Mercy that we even got out alive 3 of 4 times we had to flee! Life is simply not fair quite often. But we get through and go on trying to make it better for others. We help each other through and that is worth more than gold. I think we will see a lot more of that in the coming years. Keep looking up and finding ways to bless.

Is it true that State Farm uninsured people because of a new law that stopped them from raising premiums? Everything has gone up in price, gas, food, taxes, everything, why wouldn't insurance?
You'd be surprised. I live in England, in the Lake District. A few years back we had two episodes of Biblical flooding (over 12in of rain in a day). Three years later, houses that had been 8 feet underwater twice in ten years, and are uninsurable against flood, were selling at higher prices than they had before. I have no idea who buys them, but someone does.
Insurance companies exist for profit not for people. They will try not to cover these terrible losses, but there are legal professionals who are trained to fight for the homeowners, and fight they will.
Those middle class families who lost everything to the wildfires are now in the same boat as the ones that have been homeless and living in a tent encampment; or inside their vehicles.

@@Mina.15it sounds like every Californian should just have their most precious possessions packed just in case. You never know. How heartbreaking. My prayers are going out to all the folks affected!
Ever since I became aware of climate change, I decided to rethink my approach to life. I chose not to buy a house, start a family, or have children, instead embracing a minimalist, nomadic lifestyle. To me, the world is my home, and no place on Earth is truly safe or permanent. I believe in keeping life simple, living as if each day might be my last, and carrying only what is essential. Ownership and attachment to material possessions feel futile in a world where even the ground beneath our feet could one day disappear. I’ve shared this perspective with my colleagues, encouraging others to prepare for an uncertain future. Life is fleeting, and we must adapt, staying unrooted and ready to move forward, no matter what lies ahead. Take care, everyone.
But you know that having a nomadic lifestyle comes from a place of privilege if we take into account the following: Most people really need to be located in a place due to work , children , family Having a job that allows u to travel while you still have an income is a blessing Most people buy a house due to security But I agree minimalism should be the path most humans need to aspire to . Myself became a minimalist 3 years ago and now I only have 2 bags with all my items ( a big change for someone who used to have an entire room just for clothes , bags , shoes ) Plus let’s not discard the hypothesis that this fire may have the final goal of turning that area more elite than before if we take into account that the insurance companies left and most middle / upper middle class won’t be able to rebuild there but the ultra rich will, Maybe a desperate attempt to get rid of the homeless population ( I don’t know ) hope it was just a horrible situation
Well you might have shielded yourself from loss of possessions but when you lose everything material it's nice to have someone or your own family to be with. Don't make people's loss a lesson of justifying your lifestyle. Everyone is different and there is no moral superiority or hierarchy to one lifestyle over another.
California had many wild bush fires but the community did not anticipate their houses will be burnt down. They underestimated the destructive power of prolonged drought+wind+fire
And lack of proper preparation by California leaders liberals will always want to dodge responsibility and blame the wind they cut the budget for fire service by 17m plus more than years no new reservoirs build this is total failure of the leadership of California.
You're blessed to have a friend like that. Shows that hearts and faith, hope and love are the only things of value in this world. Sounds like you have a friend with his soul intact. Please cherish him. "What profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul?"

That is certainly THE lesson to be learned from this disaster
I’ve lost everything and I mean everything at least three times. You can build it back, and build it even better, you have life.

Let's stop with the poor vs rich crap.

Yes! This world is temporary!! All the memories, and sentimental things someday also gone. It’s all temporary. Look above. That’s where forever is.

But you know that having a nomadic lifestyle comes from a place of privilege if we take into account the following:
Most people really need to be located in a place due to work , children , family
Having a job that allows u to travel while you still have an income is a blessing
Most people buy a house due to security
But I agree minimalism should be the path most humans need to aspire to . Myself became a minimalist 3 years ago and now I only have 2 bags with all my items ( a big change for someone who used to have an entire room just for clothes , bags , shoes )
Plus let’s not discard the hypothesis that this fire may have the final goal of turning that area more elite than before if we take into account that the insurance companies left and most middle / upper middle class won’t be able to rebuild there but the ultra rich will,
Maybe a desperate attempt to get rid of the homeless population ( I don’t know ) hope it was just a horrible situation
Well you might have shielded yourself from loss of possessions but when you lose everything material it's nice to have someone or your own family to be with. Don't make people's loss a lesson of justifying your lifestyle. Everyone is different and there is no moral superiority or hierarchy to one lifestyle over another.
