We had an estate sale for our Aunt, she had tons of jewelry. We thought that we knew the difference between costume and real... a gentleman grabbed something and said, excuse me but can you come over here for just a minute... my sister went over and he handed her a watch and said I really don't think you should sell this before you take it to a jeweler... it turned out to be a very old Omega watch, and worth certainly more than the dollar we had it marked.... I thank God that he was so honest. My Aunts estate went to the batter women shelter... God only knows what good things we sold..😔.. oh well, the shelter received a VERY good check... TFS

This has never happened to me yet, but I like to think that if I ever found something worth A LOT of money, I would say something... trouble is, sometimes I don’t even know until I get it home and test it! Plus - my mom and I usually just “buy out” the whole table if things look old. That man was very kind that he told you that. People are wonderful (for the most part)! Thanks for watching!!! xo

You can self calibrate your presidium. Look up on TH-cam there’s a good video that shows you how to do it. There’s a little button on the right side that is covered by rubber cover. That may help calibrate your presidium. I also find if I move it around a lot it gets a little testy and I have to self calibrate it. It’s super easy. Love all your great finds! Bb I learn so much from your videos about different brands!!

@@TheFunkyPickleThrifter did you try using the button on the right side of the box. You have to open the little rubber cover. There are two holes, the one closest to the front of the box and you stick something pointy in and press it gently then it will produce a light. When it does that you put your probe on the calibrate disc and wait until it goes there and beeps. Then it will go another beep with a light to have you do the same thing to the glass disc and it will move the dial to glass the beep and you are done. hope that makes since.

I’m one of those people lol. Maybe we relate it to having a random hair in your soup or food.
I saw a brooch for sale with hair in it and thought what would I do with it? Throw the hair out? The thought of being a keeper to someone else’s history and DNA is very sad and overwhelming to me. I’m glad these items ended up with someone like you!

The detail and craft in the hair jewelry is amazing. If we will wear human hair wigs why not jewelry? I would wager the ring represents the "Green Man" which is usually comprised of leaves, vines etc, think Father Nature, who represents rebirth and spring. Well half way through and I am impressed and going to subscribe. Back in the 60's and early 70's, those little earrings were all we wore as only "trashy" girls had their ears pierced. My mother about died when I finally got mine done at age 26, but she got over it. Three Presidents had Scotties, these are probably from President G W Bush. Yes freshwater pearls, you can always tell by the somewhat oval shape and the striations. I almost love those better than the perfectly round ones. Cleaners used for alcohol inks might remove without causing damage. Yes that is an Agate, almost looked like Blue Lace but I really don't see the bluish color.

Hello Sandra. The intricacy of the mourning jewelry is astounding! The person whose hair it was must have been greatly loved. Interesting finds, especially the charm bracelets. If the opal ring is real, that is quite a find. When a person is honorable, there is no fear of karma, especially since she's a b h!!! Lol Hope to see a lot more videos soon. 💝 Veronica

All hair jewelry interests me, as it cannot be easy to work with to achieve such controlled results. Also as to the prevalent aversion to it, I wonder if those same people realize how much higher end clothing is made from animal hair, though processed beyond much recognition as such.
