DH and I just installed our new door knob and deadbolt thanks to your video. Sending huge thanks from both of us that it's done without any headaches or angry words. lol
Cary, your videos are always very well-done and the last part of this video was interesting where you set the locks on the doors so that one key could be used on both doors.
Wow! Your video is so much better than the first 2 I watched. You know what you are talking about and you do an excellent job to showing what you are doing. Who is you camera guy?
We had a basement door With a concrete wall behind it and we used to hammer drill and drill into it and put anchors into it so the screws from the deadbolt strike to go into the concrete wall and make it really really hard to kick in
Thank you for the instructions. Much appreciated. I just bought the Kwikset Delta. Smartkey. .I installed the deadbolt and the lever, but after installation, the locking mechanism does not work on the lever. The thumb knob will not turn. As if it's jammed. The key will not turn it either. I don't know if I did something wrong. I don't think so. I removed it and the locking mechanism will not even turn when disassembled.
J Nieto It sounds to me like you got a faulty set. I would return it and try another set. You should be able to lock the door and deadbolt from the inside without the key.
+iScaper1 I kept meaning to return and give you an update and eventually the thought escaped me. I apologize. I did return the Kwikset and the new one worked like a charm. I don't understand how some businesses expect you to save the packaging when most packaging now a days is plastic molded, it seems, around the product. So the only option that one has is to literally destroy the package to get to the item. At any rate, I returned the defective item in a sandwich bag. Thank you very much for excellent instruction.
I just re-keyed my locks using the Kwikset SmartKey Re-Key kit. Here's a link: www.homedepot.com/p/Kwikset-SmartKey-Re-Key-Kit-REKYG-KIT-CP-SMT-KW/202279362

That was excellent. Both the videography and narration were perfectly clear. Thank you for such a helpful demonstration.
Thanks Jim for watching.
Thank you!!! My Kwikset level handle door knob was acting up. I forgot you had to take the handle off first and that an allen wrench was needed!

Thanks for the information and for the feedback.

The end of the handle is supposed to point down according to Kwikset.
Hi, I cut two keys from the original Weiser lock, Now noticed it will NOT unlock or lock. Do I have to use the Smart key to use the new keys?
I just re-keyed my locks using the Kwikset SmartKey Re-Key kit. Here's a link: www.homedepot.com/p/Kwikset-SmartKey-Re-Key-Kit-REKYG-KIT-CP-SMT-KW/202279362
Nice tutorial thanks but glass on door right next to locks equals very easy entry.
Depends how is the glass made
Looks like you replaced a double cylinder deadbolt with a single cylinder deadbolt in this video
The handle is upside down.
the allen bolt doesnt go in!
