@@zman245 The girl main has nothing to do with it, stop deflecting. The story was bad and the gameplay was stripped to a fraction of what homeworld 1 and homeworld 2 certainly had. If you had played the earlier ones you would see this. They pulled a Dawn of war 3, which looked nothing like what Dawn of war 1 was. It should not have been titled a homeworld 3 sequel, the remasters offered more.
I think it's probably worth mentioning 'Fragile existence' when discussing Star Home, since as far as I can tell the concept is quite similar, but Fragile Existence looks a lot more promising to me personally.

This needs more Tempest Rising, it feels the most Command & Conquer that ever commanded or conquered. The artstyle atmosphere feels like if someone remade Tiberian Dawn in Company of Heroes.

conquest of eldinar seems cool gives massive stick war legacy vibes and I love that one thing I do hope though is that you can get really personal with your army and also that each soldier has many choices in movements and action and are actually kinda smart about using those actions. Like my number one beef in stick war is that each character is extrmely simple so I hope with the graphics come also iteresting function also dedicated hero unit always goes hard

@@perafilozof Have not been playing many games every since I lost my laptop but I played games like stronghold legends, Taur and alot of boxing school. I mainly love autobattlers or games that have systems that let me have troops or gather people in large number. That why I've been playing a lot Cataclysm and just collecting survivors to form a army of spear maniacs

RTS games have been seeing some solid innovation lately, which is a refreshing change. I've tested a few, but Gates of Pyre really stands out after its playtest. Honestly, I can't wait for the full launch.
Was hoping for some updates on the big ones like D.O.R.F. Tempest Rising, Zerospace and Immortal Gates of Pyre 🤔 Five Nations and terminator looked interesting, hopefully those keep getting updates. Also as for the Steam 2025 RTS event, I think that all the big titles will be there in this announcement, like Tempest Rising, Age of Mythology Retold, Sins of a Solar empire, Zerospace, etc. This is RTS one chance to be revived. Seen by triple A companies, investors, and all RTS fans.

@@ZverseZ I played the terminator demo and it was very chopy and units seemed unresponsive. Maybe I would need to mess around with the graphics settings a bit unless its more optimized now. I think its still on my steam list.
I've played very little of Nebulous, but im glad its still developing. I know many of the people behind it, the lore of the game is largely a tounge in cheek reference to a bunch of teenage gamer clan drama we had back in the 2000s involving multiple rival groups (which I had been apart of both over the years). 2 decades later the main creator of the game came into the rivals discord (long after we'd all grown up and put teenager drama behind us) and we joked about it all, and played his game for a bit. Laughing at The default enemy AI having ship names that were a direct reference to our clan.
Great video as always, thanks :D . Definitely gonna try that TS mod, and Fracture Alliance looks great as well. I'm not a fan of any of the cartoon games' looks though, nor that cheap voxel look, myself. Industrial Annihilation just sounds like such a bad concept - I really feel like the factory building mechanic will quickly devolve into a single meta factory build and then only be in the way from there on out. I'd much rather they just make another PA (one that's not half-finished). Btw, that Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era game looks excellent :D .

Similar, but I think we are pushing are graphics, gameplay and feature set to entirely new heights and bringing the game to all new platforms like steam and consoles. Our 16 fantasy factions are quite different than anything Stick War offers. We may be inspired, but Conquest of Eldinar is certainly quite the different animal to Stick War. Thank you for showing interest in our game!

Great video as always. I do wish Cepheus Protocol would bring out the long promised co-op because with so many things going on at the same time on a big map splitting tasks or going third person as a team would just be too amazing. Heli dropping a team in to help a player who is in third person fighting the horde in realtime sounds too fun, more games should do this. :D

This one catched my eyes too. It reminds me of The Last Haven which i liked very much. Sadly developer is at war in Ukraine for more the a year now, so i don't know will the game ever be finished.
Iron Frontier's set up never really caught on in commercial video games, but I remember there was a small but healthy community for the style back in the hayday of Flash Games... there's one in particular that I recall that was a WW1 game that the formula worked immensely well with!

The Gameplay of "Terminator dark fate defiance" also remembers me of a game I played easily 10 years ago and it was called "Warfare". It had the same mechanics overall, just the setting was a fictional war where the US needs to save Saudi Arabia from some rebellions and terrorists. Another game that shares the mechanics is also "Syrian Warfare" there you're fighting in the civil war. All games are from different studios, but I'm pretty sure that they share some of the devs, don't know how many though or if I'm completely wrong. All of them are pretty good tactical RTS games, though I personally didn't play Syrian warfare because of the setting.

Ah, you mean: "The good old times" :) Yes. The whole industry is basically going through a reset. Old giants eaten up inside by corporate greed are falling and new studios are slowly coming together but this time knowing full well what will happen if they let the global corporate greed into them.

I love how there are Player vs AI options even more and more now from many of the games I check. I will NOT play an RTS game if I cannot play singleplayer against AI, in skirmish maps.

Stellar warfare is a stellar (pun intended) game, i hope it will get more attention. Front Edge looks awesome, too bad it won't have basebuilding. C&C like game with such graphics would be a dream. If Terminator: Dark Fate had basebuilding.... i should stop thinking about such incredible games. Anyway, will pick up both games sooner or later. Just bought Age of Mythology Retold, on release, a thing i haven't than in ~10 years. Next one will be Sins 2, that Star Trek Armada 4 mod already looks incredible.
i have never heard of 5 nations. cool recommendation. Also ive been waiting for Cepheus protocol to leave early access for a long long time. I hate when games sit in early access and seem like they will never leave. Take 7 days to dies for example. Its 1.0 but still doesn't have the features the devs said would be in the game at 1.0. On my wishlist i have like 100 games. About 50 are early access and then 25 or so of them are all RTS.... Maybe these projects will be completed someday, who knows.

terminator dark fate is a solid game, but its really hard ,they needed to create a progressive campaign mode where you can go from one mission to the next just like regular campaign, choosing scavanging resources troops along your way .

Star Trek Armada 3 is one of the best total conversion mod for any game. And considering the shitty state of official Trek games, i think its the best unofficial Trek game currently.

I was on the fence about terminator dark defiance but your quick review sold me on it. I crave a grim dark realistic rts and it looks like it has it. 😊
Oh it so dark and realistic. So much so that some players didn't even like it for it. I think it is very old school in that regard and the developers wanted to make a hard game. Thank you kindly for the comment, and let me know after you have played it a bit how you like it.
I abandoned two of my campaign playthroughs before putting it on custom difficulty n turning supply off and damage to lowest just so I could finish it, it's a good game, but I hated having to manage my army so much. U will do a lot of save/reloading/restarts of missions and there are several ways to do a lot of the missions and it's easy to miss quite a few things, collect everything.
@@Barbarossa97 no base building no. You scavenge or get given units as u advance through missions, or u can buy them from one of the factions on the world Map, you really need to scavenge every vehicle on the map before you leave a mission area, as u need to sell the crap. I was disappointed when I heard it didn't have base building but it is actually better this way, u need to keep ur best units alive through out the entire campaign.
Maybe you can do a video about Strategy game mods that have standalone campaigns? There is a really cool sudden strike 3 conversion mod that turns it into quake 4 RTS.
Ah Cepheus Protocol. A janky RTS but one with a lot of passion being put into it. Bought it in Early Access and actually had some fun. Looking forward for more of it's updates. If you played [PROTOTYPE] and know of the Black Watch faction, think of that, except you're in command of Black Watch and you have to fight mutant-zombies with your army.
To some extent it does have the same ideas and story elements. Not sure how much more detailed the ship customization is going to be, but yes. Fragile Existence will have more features.
I have space reign but havent played it in awhile finished all the original content and was gonna let it develop a little before I go back. Maybe its time. Right now Im playing sins 2 .

The funny thing about Front edge, it's free, because devs said "government payed for it, so just have fun guys" (it was made with funds from IID, or institution of internet developement, initiative, which is government associated company, but mostly apolitical in terms of what they spend money on and how they pich games, even the Front edge is kinda apolitical, even though it features USA vs Russia war)
Nebulous is amazing but the level of micromanagement required is ridiculous. You can't enjoy a full minute of combat without having to stop everything do a gazillion tasks then unpause for another 30s just to start all over again. It feels like there is nobody piloting the ships under your control.
Oh I get you on that! I also feel like too much imput is required from the player for each action and battle. Thank you kindly for sharing your thoughts on this

Glad I could help! :) Front Edge really caught my eye-I love how they handle the environment and explosions, though I haven't tried it yet. And Star Wars: Empire at War is a classic. It’s impressive that, even after all these years, people are still creating mods for it.
Yeah, I know! That is how you can spot true quality when people are spending so much time and effort on those games even so long after launch. It is like with movies you want decades later and still enjoy them even when you know them by heart.
Yes but question is will the new rtses have big maps like old games had its abit sad to many new rtses goes for fast paced small maps to cater to esport only
Micro Wars looks interesting, but each unit having an ability is a turn off for me, since it's a very small map and fast battle, should've been more simplified

I need a back story red alert style all the open skirmish stuff while fun leaves me empty. This feeling is true about my gaming in general be it space, building rts etc. Why am I here as this entity in game and is this experience fun or a headache

I mainly love autobattlers or games that have systems that let me have troops or gather people in large number. That why I've been playing a lot Cataclysm and just collecting survivors to form a army of spear maniacs

RTS games have been seeing some solid innovation lately, which is a refreshing change. I've tested a few, but Gates of Pyre really stands out after its playtest. Honestly, I can't wait for the full launch.

I tried Conquest of Elidinar at Pax West this year and it was an amazing game I highly believe it will go far and have a solid future!

@@ZverseZ I played the terminator demo and it was very chopy and units seemed unresponsive. Maybe I would need to mess around with the graphics settings a bit unless its more optimized now. I think its still on my steam list.

I've played very little of Nebulous, but im glad its still developing. I know many of the people behind it,
the lore of the game is largely a tounge in cheek reference to a bunch of teenage gamer clan drama we had back in the 2000s involving multiple rival groups (which I had been apart of both over the years). 2 decades later the main creator of the game came into the rivals discord (long after we'd all grown up and put teenager drama behind us) and we joked about it all, and played his game for a bit. Laughing at The default enemy AI having ship names that were a direct reference to our clan.

Great video as always, thanks :D . Definitely gonna try that TS mod, and Fracture Alliance looks great as well. I'm not a fan of any of the cartoon games' looks though, nor that cheap voxel look, myself. Industrial Annihilation just sounds like such a bad concept - I really feel like the factory building mechanic will quickly devolve into a single meta factory build and then only be in the way from there on out. I'd much rather they just make another PA (one that's not half-finished). Btw, that Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era game looks excellent :D .

Similar, but I think we are pushing are graphics, gameplay and feature set to entirely new heights and bringing the game to all new platforms like steam and consoles. Our 16 fantasy factions are quite different than anything Stick War offers. We may be inspired, but Conquest of Eldinar is certainly quite the different animal to Stick War.

Great video as always. I do wish Cepheus Protocol would bring out the long promised co-op because with so many things going on at the same time on a big map splitting tasks or going third person as a team would just be too amazing. Heli dropping a team in to help a player who is in third person fighting the horde in realtime sounds too fun, more games should do this. :D

This one catched my eyes too. It reminds me of The Last Haven which i liked very much. Sadly developer is at war in Ukraine for more the a year now, so i don't know will the game ever be finished.

Iron Frontier's set up never really caught on in commercial video games, but I remember there was a small but healthy community for the style back in the hayday of Flash Games... there's one in particular that I recall that was a WW1 game that the formula worked immensely well with!

Iron Harvest was on sale about two weeks ago as well, so I had included it in my previous video. I didn't want to repeat it again in this one.
And I do agree Homeworld Deserts of Kharak has good content to offer. Especially considering the low bar HW3 has set.

The Gameplay of "Terminator dark fate defiance" also remembers me of a game I played easily 10 years ago and it was called "Warfare". It had the same mechanics overall, just the setting was a fictional war where the US needs to save Saudi Arabia from some rebellions and terrorists. Another game that shares the mechanics is also "Syrian Warfare" there you're fighting in the civil war.
All games are from different studios, but I'm pretty sure that they share some of the devs, don't know how many though or if I'm completely wrong.
All of them are pretty good tactical RTS games, though I personally didn't play Syrian warfare because of the setting.

I love how there are Player vs AI options even more and more now from many of the games I check.
I will NOT play an RTS game if I cannot play singleplayer against AI, in skirmish maps.

i have never heard of 5 nations. cool recommendation. Also ive been waiting for Cepheus protocol to leave early access for a long long time. I hate when games sit in early access and seem like they will never leave. Take 7 days to dies for example. Its 1.0 but still doesn't have the features the devs said would be in the game at 1.0. On my wishlist i have like 100 games. About 50 are early access and then 25 or so of them are all RTS.... Maybe these projects will be completed someday, who knows.

terminator dark fate is a solid game, but its really hard ,they needed to create a progressive campaign mode where you can go from one mission to the next just like regular campaign, choosing scavanging resources troops along your way .

Star Trek Armada 3 is one of the best total conversion mod for any game. And considering the shitty state of official Trek games, i think its the best unofficial Trek game currently.

I was on the fence about terminator dark defiance but your quick review sold me on it. I crave a grim dark realistic rts and it looks like it has it. 😊
Oh it so dark and realistic. So much so that some players didn't even like it for it. I think it is very old school in that regard and the developers wanted to make a hard game. Thank you kindly for the comment, and let me know after you have played it a bit how you like it.
I abandoned two of my campaign playthroughs before putting it on custom difficulty n turning supply off and damage to lowest just so I could finish it, it's a good game, but I hated having to manage my army so much. U will do a lot of save/reloading/restarts of missions and there are several ways to do a lot of the missions and it's easy to miss quite a few things, collect everything.

Base building?
@@Barbarossa97 no base building no. You scavenge or get given units as u advance through missions, or u can buy them from one of the factions on the world Map, you really need to scavenge every vehicle on the map before you leave a mission area, as u need to sell the crap. I was disappointed when I heard it didn't have base building but it is actually better this way, u need to keep ur best units alive through out the entire campaign.
Maybe you can do a video about Strategy game mods that have standalone campaigns? There is a really cool sudden strike 3 conversion mod that turns it into quake 4 RTS.

Ah Cepheus Protocol. A janky RTS but one with a lot of passion being put into it. Bought it in Early Access and actually had some fun. Looking forward for more of it's updates.
If you played [PROTOTYPE] and know of the Black Watch faction, think of that, except you're in command of Black Watch and you have to fight mutant-zombies with your army.

Star home sounds like fragile existence but I think FE is gonna have ground combat.
To some extent it does have the same ideas and story elements. Not sure how much more detailed the ship customization is going to be, but yes. Fragile Existence will have more features.

The funny thing about Front edge, it's free, because devs said "government payed for it, so just have fun guys"
(it was made with funds from IID, or institution of internet developement, initiative, which is government associated company, but mostly apolitical in terms of what they spend money on and how they pich games, even the Front edge is kinda apolitical, even though it features USA vs Russia war)

Nebulous is amazing but the level of micromanagement required is ridiculous. You can't enjoy a full minute of combat without having to stop everything do a gazillion tasks then unpause for another 30s just to start all over again. It feels like there is nobody piloting the ships under your control.

Glad I could help! :) Front Edge really caught my eye-I love how they handle the environment and explosions, though I haven't tried it yet. And Star Wars: Empire at War is a classic. It’s impressive that, even after all these years, people are still creating mods for it.
Yeah, I know! That is how you can spot true quality when people are spending so much time and effort on those games even so long after launch. It is like with movies you want decades later and still enjoy them even when you know them by heart.

Hi, the ones that are Singleplayer focused will have bigger maps, MP games usually have smaller maps so matches can be quicker.

Micro Wars looks interesting, but each unit having an ability is a turn off for me, since it's a very small map and fast battle, should've been more simplified

@@perafilozof well you already know the only two games that show any promise are sanctuary and dorf.. Everything else is meh. Storm gate was terrible as I predicted

@@perafilozof the newer more obscure I actually went looking for it on itchio (my pet nick name for it) tbh I may be rts'd out. I need a back story red alert style all the open skirmish stuff while fun leaves me empty. This feeling is true about my gaming in general be it space, building rts etc. Why am I here as this entity in game and is this experience fun or a headache
Oh I see. I get you to a degree, but you need to look at it with a fresh perspective and go into it with an idea of what you expect tempered by what the game is.

Could be that it is regional. That is a problem with sales as they aren't always global and the prices often don't match.
