Thanks for going all out to test these packing cubes, gorilla handling style. I'm a rough user too and I have been eyeing the compression ones, Eagle Creek Specter Pack It cubes, for a while. This video definitely helped! ❤
I used packing cubes for the first time this January on a two week trip to the Holy Land using only my carryon and a tote. I really liked using compression cubes so my favorite from your video are the Eagle Creek Specter Pack-It Cubes. The fact that they don't open all the way actually allow really stuffing rolled up clothes in there! Other non-compression cubes are nice to just organize things especially in the tote, and having a handle makes them easy to access in the bag. Thanks for the video showing these different options!
I love that you said this is the showdown "that nobody asked for," when literally earlier today, I was shopping for packing cubes, and I got overwhelmed and chose nothing... and wished that there was a packing cube showdown just like this! Haha. Alas, your video is perfectly what I'm looking for. Thanks! :D
Im very intolerant of almost everyones videos as I scrutinize everything about it and them . But you are absolutely THE BEST I have seen ie. .. person ,,, video .. content,.everything ! . Very cute , fun ,, upbeat, personable without being annoying. Also your descriptions and content were concise and to the point while still being incredibly informative. You Rock!! I wish I could upvote you 100 times. ☺
Of course I like the most expensive ones the best! I love your channel. You have a friendly manner that has no arrogance. And I always learn something new. Thanks!!!
Love the look of the Bagail cubes....I love how passionate you are about your product reviews! Thank you for your research and passion! Happy Travelling!
I am a big believer in packing cubes!! I bought my Ebags set of 3 probably 18 years ago because that is what they offered. 😂 I have 4 sets of them and matching shoe bags. One set for each person in my family and a small misc set. Mine are not compression cubes because they didn’t make them then. 😂I think I might like to try compression cubes but my Ebags have held up so well and they hold so much. Mine look just like when I bought them. They keep everything so neat and tidy and if you fold properly minimal wrinkles. I highly recommend them!!
Best and easy to watch video on packing cubes so far! I have several packing cubes that are very cheap price and quality but because I like the idea of the cubes i decided i need to invest in something that will last longer. Im not sure if your contest is over already but i like what u like the creek maybe in girly color
Great to hear the Amazon Basics are working well for you! I admit i'm a pretty rough packer so maybe that's why they got worn down so quickly haha. A few people have suggested Lewis n Clark - will definitely look them up!
Happy to Wander I wouldn’t be surprised if Amazon dropped the quality of the packing cubes in recent years. I also have an Amazon basics iPhone charger I got 4 years ago which is still working fine. I liked it so much I wanted to repurchase another a year ago, but all of the recent reviews were horrible. Might not be you at all, just a change in quality 😔 Also, are you familiar with Daiso? I’ve gotten a few packing cubes from them over the years.
I’m shopping for cubs now for a few trips coming up, I will go for the eagle creek, becuz u said they are strong, better quality and open all the way, thank you for your help. You answered a lot of my questions,
I bought my first packing cubes a few months ago and am now obsessed, buying them for all my family members! I would love a set of the Eagle Creek ones!
hahah yesss! hello fellow packing cube obsessed person :) which of the Eagle Creek ones would you want? The Specter compression cubes or the regular Pack-It ones?
Thank you for helping me with packing cube decisions. I finally retired from teaching grade school and have decided to take myself traveling … since my husband has no interest in traveling…. It’s up to me! I went to a 5 day artist’s retreat at Lake Tahoe… and some of my lovely new friends saw my open suitcase… yikes… and told me to get cubes. Your presentation on this video is PERFECT 👍🏼 so I subscribed. Thank you so much!
I have a set of regular packing cubes that I use every time I travel. Love them! So my favorites of the ones you showed are the Eagle Creek Compression cubes. I can see how they would be really handy for trips to Europe. I can pack all the clothes I need without having to resort to a huge suitcase. Because we don't stay in one place for more than a week, being able to use a smaller suitcase would be super helpful. Thanks for this very valuable info!
I first used packing cubes several years back and the set I bought was from eBags. Still using them with no wear and tear visible. Just recently discovered compression cubes and have ordered three different sets from three different companies for an upcoming two week vacation…going by car. I love the order packing cubes bring to my suitcases. They are exceptional for use in duffle bags, creating order in unstructured duffles.
Greetings, I just stumbled, er, surfed, and came upon this video. Terrific video. Loved all the comparisons! I'm a Big fan of packing cubes as I discovered them in another vlogers video. I tried out the Eagle brand, fell in love, and purchased a wardrobe of them!! I have used them several times from get away visits with my friend in upstate NY with just a carry on to overnights at my Sister's house, just using my backpack. The amount of what I could pack amazes me every time!! Am planning a week long vacation in February to Orlando FLA. Am most definitely going to be utilizing all my cubes!!!
I am going on a 9-night cruise in January with my husband and we are only taking carry-ons to try and avoid the airport issues so I thought packing cubes would be a great solution to packing 10 days worth of clothes into two carry-ons! Crazy right! Your video was amazing and so helpful! Thanks so much!!
I agree that packing cubes are game changers. Here in the US you can often find some good ones at TJMaxx. I use regular ones in my carry on suitcase, but a compression bags in my personal bag for a change of underwear, pjs, change of clothing, and a warm sweater to wear on the plane. Your clothes will be a little more wrinkled in a compression bag, but they are great for things where wrinkles don't matter!
I have really only used compression cubes, so the ones I was most interested in were the Eagle Creek bags to see how they stack up with what I have. Your video was really educational! Thanks.
My favorite of the ones you tried are the Eagle Creek Specter Compression cubes. I agree, it’s annoying that they don’t unzip all the way around. I always bring an empty one along for dirty undies/clothes, very efficient compression on the way home. Next I like the Eagle Creek Pack-It cubes. They also come in a compression model, I think, and they hold their shape nicely, though they’re not quite so light weight as the Specters. Another brand that you should check out-gotten a little harder to find but super light and compressible is Lewis n Clark’s Electrolight or Featherlight line. I’m addicted and have a bunch of those. Thanks for your tips!
Ooh a fellow packing cube addict - I love it!! Genius to use the Specter ones for dirty laundry. I'm definitely going to start doing that!! Also I'm very intrigued by the Electrolight/Featherlight... I mean the name alone!!! Thanks so much for the awesome comment :)
Embarrassed to admit I’d never even heard of packing cubes before I started following Happy to Wander! I travel quite a bit, but somehow these glorious game changers eluded me. So honestly, I’d be thrilled to have any of the ones you reviewed! I think the compression style bags would suit my needs best, but I know ANY of them would make my packing anxiety significantly decrease!!
I would definitely go for the Gonex cubes, and in blue. They seem to combine the best of both worlds (compression and can open all the way to work like a drawer or compartment). 😊 Definitely looking into these for my upcoming trip to New Orleans!
Enjoyed this video. I'm primarily an "ultralight" backpacker, and I love compression cubes to keep my pack organized. Travel to access my backpack trips requires some epic packing strategies! Any compression-type cube fits the bill for me for flights and train trips. Mesh panels are a must to keep track of the contents of each cube. A sturdy zipper is also great for someone like me who pushes the cubes to their limit!
I came upon your video totally by accident, but loved it so much I felt I had to let you know. I am obsessed with organization and LOVE packing cubes. I got some random ones when I started traveling after retirement. Would love to get a matching set to replace what I have. I loved the Bagail set because of the design of the mesh. I usually keep everything in the cubes and put the whole cube in a drawer when I unpack. That makes repacking very easy. Hopefully I will be able to start traveling again when it is safe. Thanks so much for your information and your enthusiasm.
Thanks Christina... I recently used packing cubes for the first time with my tiny "International" size carry-on roller bag. Wow... What a game-changer! My very favorite carry-on roller bag is made by Eagle Creek (unfortunately it is too big for International). I bought it over 12 years ago and it had held up perfectly. I love Eagle Creek products and agree that they are well worth the extra expense. Thanks for this video!
I use ziploc bags with the slider and they work great. Waterproof, keeps clothes clean & organized and cheap. Sorry they’re not fancy but they work great. And see through makes it easy to spot. 🤷♀️
I just took a trip to Norway and used 3 different types of packing cubes. Go, Lewis and Clark, and Gonex. Go and L&C are my favorite because of the weight, soft material and ability to compress if needed. The Gonex is a long, skinny one which was great for leggings, socks, and underwear. I can throw the Go and L&C in the washer or hand wash. The Gonex didn't wash up as well. The packing cubes allowed me to travel for 10 days in a very cold climate, carryon only. I would love to try other types of packing cubes but, for now, I'll use what I have.
I love the eagle creek compression one! I have been eyeing those ones for a while now but just researching whether it’s worth the price tag! Thanks for this video Christina!! 💖
They’re really lightweight and super well made! Great choice ;) fingers crossed for you - maybe you’ll be able to get them for free from me mwahaha. Which colour do you like?! There’s more choices now than when I bought them - I think there’s also blue, lime green and some patterns!
I did!! and after subscribing and looking through your other videos EVERYTHING you have been posting so far are very helpful. I am getting ready for an upcoming backpacking trip my very first one and I’m just happy to have come across your videos thank you so much🙌🏼😭❤️
I've always wondered about packing cubes. Now I would love to try those regular Eagle Creek cubes. They seem great quality products. Thanks for such a practical video!!
Congrats, Mae!!! After a random draw, you're officially the winner of your own packing cube set ;) Send me an email at hello@happytowander.com with your mailing address and which packing cube colour you want for the Eagle Creek regular cubes!
I like the Eagle Creek Compression. Until I watched your video, I never heard of packing cubes! they will fit in my small back pack for a no check in flight. awesome!
oh they are lifechanging!! So happy to have introduced you to them :) The Eagle Creek compression ones are really great! Which colour would you get if you won a set from me? :)
Compression cubes are a recent revelation! I also prefer the regular ones since they are more for organisation than stuffing (I rely on pressing my suitcase itself to just compress stuff when I close it). And I totally agree about the Eagle Creek ones - I had to return them as they seemed way too small (and so pricey!) and don't open properly to be useful for me. I got the Amazon Basics ones and so far (only on 2 trips) and they've worked pretty well for me so far, but I haven't really abused them that much. But feel free to send me the Eagle Creek Pack-It ones for me to try 😜
I’ve never used packing cubes? But I’m excited to get organized and try to make a trip in just a carry on! I like the looks of the Eagle creek compression cubes or the Eagle Creek packing cubes ❤
We never thought of having packing tubes and your video has given us an idea especially traveling with kid! make our clothing tidier :) the light packing tubes would be our fav haha :) thanks for sharing this!
Did a two-month trip in the summer with just a carry on, and I can honestly say that was all possible because of packing cubes lol I had one eagle creek and the rest were gonex. And I can attest that eagle creek really is the best quality one! Now I have an upcoming 10 day trip with the smallest carry on luggage. I already know I'm gonna have so much fun with packing winter clothes in these lovely packing cubes ... 😅
Yess packing cubes are truly life changing. So happy you approve of my choices!!! Definitely get some bigger ones for those bulky winter clothes though haha - better than killing your other cube trying to cram too much in.
You are adorable! I am new to the packing cube world but travel quite a bit. I used a cheap set I bought at Christmas time and was able to pack everything I needed for a 2-week visit! I liked the Bagail and the one with the longer zipper pulls, best in your review. I learned quite a bit and really appreciate your site and your email!
aw thank you so much, Anne!! The zippers are definitely a great feature of the Bagail ones. Which colour would you like most? The pink like mine? There's so many to choose from!
I’ve been using packing cubes for 2 years now and they’re great.. now I’m gonna try the compression packing cubes since I’m traveling in 4 weeks.. not sure what brand I ordered though.. but eagle creek looks 👍👍
I have ikea basic ones and they're a game changer though I do regularly destroy them by overstuffing!. Didn't know compression cubes were a thing. Those Eagle ones look amazing
I have a set from Tripped travel. It came with 2 large compression cubes, 2 small ones, a skinny shoe bag, and a laundry bag, and they all have travel themed designs on them. They’re so cute and they can fit a lot of clothes in them, but they’re very lightweight and sturdy. They have the same basic design as the Eagle Creek ones, but prettier.
I purchased Sharper Image packing cubes years ago which now have torn mesh from me trying to shove my entire closet in one cube and many years of doing such. Although torn they continue to keep me organized and save space on my many trips! I would be interesting in the Eagle Creek cubes. They look like they might be able to handle my aggressive packing.
I would like to see a comparison of compression vs regular in a carry-on. How many outfits you can fit in. That to me would let me decide which ones to get.
I'd love to try the Bagail ones, they look cute! Also, not sure why I've never used packing cubes, they look like miracle workers. Christina, 11 minutes talking about packing cubes and I didn´t even feel it was long, your vids are very entertaining! :) (this is not me bribing you to get the packing cubes, I'm being honest lol)
Eagle creek compression one seems very interesting! Didn't realize packing cubes can be a game changer to fit in my clothes & co. Thank you for the neat video Christina and keep it up !
I really think your presentation covered a lot in a small time which I appreciate. For me personally the Eagle Creek Specter would be a good fit as my packing skills are lacking and compression is key!
I have a couple of packing cubes that have been a huge help for packing, but I think the Eagle Creek compression cubes would take things to the next level!
I love your site. We are going to Thailand. My husband ,my granddaughter and I will be going. We started to get things off the side in what we want to take.
Loved your video - I use packing cubes for my long haul flights home to Ireland & Austrailia, they take alot of abuse - have to say I liked the Bagail Packing Cubes & Eagle Creek Cubes. I was supposed to go to New Zealand in Oct to celebrate my 50th Birthday, so now going next March 2021 instead - looking forward to traveling again soon.
I didn't even know there were such things as compression packing cubes! Given that I just bought a 20" spinner, which is much smaller than my regular carry on, this is definitely something I needed to know! I Love the Eagle Creek Specter Pack-It Cubes!
Oh they are like magic!! I’m constantly searching through my cubes so I prefer the normal ones (only one layer of zippers to get past haha) but I’m shocked by how much the compression ones actually squish everything down! Fingers crossed that I’ll be able to send you a set!! Stay tuned! :)
I have a set of Gonex cubes, but I'd love to try the Eagle Creek compression set-- I think that would solve some of my packing problems! Great review--thank you! :)
@@HappytoWander Probably the regular ones! I'm a light packer usually and just want to organize/see everything in front of me! Based on your video it sounds like the regular ones are the way to go :)
How did I not know these existed?! From someone that probably rearranges their suitcase 100 times when away, definitely going to get some of the Eagle Creek compression ones!
I travel very light on the way to Europe every year (one carry on), and come home heavy with bottles of wine, gifts, etc. I put a flimsy ultralight backpack inside my hard side carryon, and compress my clothes with, believe or not, my food saver system. It makes my shirts, underwear, and socks absolutely tiny for the journey over, then I use the dirty clothes to cushion fragile items in my case on the way back, and use the lightweight pack for my carry on, holding my iPad, medicine, and overflow clothes. Food Saver rules!
I have been looking for videos on packing cubes...and yours comes up after I ordered mine earlier...I got gonex 3 set with 3 different sizes...hopefully they're good!
I’m a huge fan of packing cubes! My first set is looking rough after years of use! Love the comparison of all the different kinds. I think the eagle creek compression ones would be my go to
If the zippers get jammed, rub the teeth with a bar of soap, and then run the pull up and down the zipper a few times. That will fix a surprising amount of zipper issues.
I feel so validated! My husband and I are taking our first big trip together, and we were debating the necessity of packing cubes. I think this proves my point. I think the eagle creek really have it all, but bagail has the patterns!
Hahah yesssss - happy to help you win that argument. Packing cubes are amazing!! I totally feel your conflict though - I wish Eagle Creek had some prettier designs lol as vain as that sounds!
I have a question. When you pack your suitcase and have those annoying spaces between the handle bars, how can you used the space wisely.. I have found them so difficult to pack items with..
Christina, I'm traveling to Europe with 5 people and thinking should I exchange the currency here in US or not? Why? I'm looking for the best, safest, and easiest way, meanwhile no transaction fee or hidden fee. Do you recommend cash, CC, or DC?
Wow awesome video! I really thought I'd want to go for the compression cubes for our honeymoon to just have backpacks with us while we Travel Thailand, but I didn't consider they actually aren't going to make anything Lighter for us to carry around doh! Love the bagtail ones, look super chic! Definitely want a range that has good size options too though. Thanks for the vid!
Hey, I was hoping to buy the Gonex regular packing cubes from your link above but it doesn't seem to bring me to Gonex bags, not sure if it has changed. Do you have another link? Thanks for the very helpful video
I go every summer for a month to New Jersey shore house we have from Arizona i am always over packer i bring extra cause we dont have washer dryer so we have to wait for my uncle or aunt to come back from work and sometimes they take while to come back with my clothes. what your thought for next trip out? i want try packing less so i can bring stuff back should i pack for 2 weeks?
Who else LOVES PACKING CUBES?! I swear I'm a packing cube cult leader. Anyways, if you want to win a set of your own, just comment which ones were your favourites!

Eagle creek
I need to check them
Out ! I have the gone. Ones they seem
Ok but i see them half price and i didn’t get the color o wanted
I love that you said this is the showdown "that nobody asked for," when literally earlier today, I was shopping for packing cubes, and I got overwhelmed and chose nothing... and wished that there was a packing cube showdown just like this! I love my Eagle creek pack it cubes❤️ I have had a set for about 5 years and they still look brand new.
Good reviews, thank you. I’m going to try the eagle creek!
Thanks I’ve decided to buy the Eagle Creek Compresson Packing Cubes. Nice Review. ✈️🧳🎒😎👍🏼

I've never used packing cubes but I love the added organization they give.
Your video was very informative, I like both the Baha’i & the Eagle Creek. We travel/cruise about 4-5 times per year. Thank you for your help, Diana

They’re really lightweight and super well made! Great choice ;) fingers crossed for you - maybe you’ll be able to get them for free from me mwahaha. Which colour do you like?! There’s more choices now than when I bought them - I think there’s also blue, lime green and some patterns!
The white or red please!! Aaahh!! I hope i win!! Hahaha
I love this video. I’ve been thinking about upgrading mine for a while now. The eagle creek ones look lovely!
they're sooo good! I keep just randomly stuffing the compression ones to see how much they compress hahah. clearly I'm bored at home.
Yesssss I’ve been looking for a video like this through my whole research for backpacking cubes 🥰🥰🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 thank you so much!!!
So happy to hear that!! hope you enjoyed it :)
I did!! and after subscribing and looking through your other videos EVERYTHING you have been posting so far are very helpful.
Thanks for the product comparisons and reviews! I've heard of these but never gave them a closer look... until now! Great video.
I’ve never thought of using the packing cube. You showed a lot of great ones. I’d love that bright green packing cubes. 😃
Wow, what an excellent video! Engaging and super detailed. Thank you! : - )
Just bought bags Il but may return them for eagle creek. Thanks for the great review!
Sorry I forgot to comment on which one is my favorite of the ones you demonstrated. The Eagle Creek Packet Cubes $$$
@@HappytoWander How about a teal or purple?
Happy to Wander I would love Purple ones.
I have to say, those Eagle Creek ones seem like the best!
absolutely!! which ones do you like - the Specter compression cubes or the regular Pack-It ones?
@@HappytoWander I'm a "carry-on" only gal, so the compression ones seem perfect and lightweight.
I’ve been using packing cubes for 2 years now and they’re great.. now I’m gonna try the compression packing cubes since I’m traveling in 4 weeks.. not sure what brand I ordered though.. but eagle creek looks 👍👍
Love your voice and review. I have been looking at the Bagail ones.
I swear by the Gonex packing cubes. I was pleasantly surprised at how well they've held up over my years of travels.
Ahh awesome! glad you like them too :) I'm so shocked at how good they are considering their price point!
Eagle Creek are the best. I have mine for years already. They also have ones with dirty and clean sides. Those are the best.
I have now purchased my first set of packing cubes. Now all I need to do is find a way to pack a week worth of warm clothing for carry on up to 8kg!
I love your packing cubes ideas! Thank you for your information!
I definitely asked for this. Thank you!!
Stay tuned! :)
Eagle Creek Compression bag. Going on a family cruise, and this could go along with my stuff well.
I have a set of Gonex cubes, but I'd love to try the Eagle Creek compression set-- I think that would solve some of my packing problems! Great review--thank you! :)
I've had my eye on the eagle creek ones so this is so helpful! I definitely need to invest before my next trip in May.
Both of the Eagle Creek ones are awesome! Which are you eyeing - the Specter compression ones or the regular Pack-It ones?
@@HappytoWander Probably the regular ones! I'm a light packer usually and just want to organize/see everything in front of me! Based on your video it sounds like the regular ones are the way to go :)
How did I not know these existed?! From someone that probably rearranges their suitcase 100 times when away, definitely going to get some of the Eagle Creek compression ones!
Aren't they amazing?! So happy to have shown you the light ;) Which colour would you get if you won a set from me?
Love the blue ones and the patterned bears and poppies.
Eagle Creek for the win. I can’t say enough about my compression EC cubes. They are amazing!
Thank you for making this video!
You are adorable 😍 thank you so much for this informative video I really enjoyed it!
I have been looking for videos on packing cubes...and yours comes up after I ordered mine earlier...I got gonex 3 set with 3 different sizes...hopefully they're good!
The Eagle Creek compression cubes look like they would help me out so much when doing international travel!
they are SO handy!! which colour would you go for if you won? :)
Looks like I’ll be purchasing the eagle creek today thanks for the video 👍
Awesome follow up from the last vid! Lucky I haven't gotten my packing cubes yet! This is mega helpful! thank you!
Great video. Thanks for the review.
Eagle Creek - read about those before I traveled last year to Europe for 2 weeks with just a carry-on! This year it's 10 days with just a carry-on!
they're awesome! which set would you want - the Specter Compression or the regular Pack-It?
Love this!! I travel so much and need something like this!!i bought some cheap ones in Spain last year but need to up my game after seeing this lol
If you travel often, getting a good set is so worth it!! Which of the ones featured would you most want as an upgrade? :)
The eagle creek compression ones for sure!!!
I like the compression pa king cube and the eagle creek regulR cube.
I bought the eagle creek brand and I love them.
I have a question. When you pack your suitcase and have those annoying spaces between the handle bars, how can you used the space wisely.. I have found them so difficult to pack items with..
Great video!! The eagle creek specter looks fantastic!!
Yeah they compress amazingly well!!! Which colour would you like if you won? :)
Happy to Wander ooh that’s exciting!! I’d love them in a boring black or a nice blue. Though white would totally do too! :)
Christina,
I'm traveling to Europe with 5 people and thinking should I exchange the currency here in US or not?
The Eagle Creek Pack It ones look the best to me!
I've had my Gonex for about 5 years. No fraying or tears.
Hey, I was hoping to buy the Gonex regular packing cubes from your link above but it doesn't seem to bring me to Gonex bags, not sure if it has changed. Do you have another link? Thanks for the very helpful video
Are packing cubes really worth it and save space
I go every summer for a month to New Jersey shore house we have from Arizona i am always over packer i bring extra cause we dont have washer dryer so we have to wait for my uncle or aunt to come back from work and sometimes they take while to come back with my clothes. what your thought for next trip out? i want try packing less so i can bring stuff back should i pack for 2 weeks?
I need the compression ones so I think I will go with the Eagle Creek
I like the double sided compression packing cube
But their no longer available on Amazon and their sold out everywhere online
Great video
