I gotta say Torf is the best drummer of this scene’s generation. Could have been Tyler Minsberg but he only wrote on one record. Torf has been consistently bringing the groove and heaviness for a decade!
@@liontrade3957 I consider AR more from an earlier generation (2000s instead of TSSF's 2010's generation), but he was definitely a beast! He and Aaron from UnderOath were some of the best drummers from that pack of bands.

Probably any drummer in the hardcore/progressive rock genre could do it as easy as you say though. But that doesn't account for drumming as a whole.

I like this guys drumming but he seems very frigid and uncomfortable in these clips. Is he always like this or was something eating him on the day?
Simon Nicholls Could just be because his setup isn't placed exactly like it usually is... the snare seems to swing a lot, some cymbals look like they are too close, etc...
Historically he’s always been a very rigid and tense player, I’ve witnessed it countless times I’ve seen them live. Everything is precision calculated lol, I’d love to see the dude loosen up at least to some extent eventually but he’s all about replicating exactly what’s tracked on the albums.

Good point. Yeah, looks like his set up may not be exactly how he likes it. Maybe he was super high too? Who knows. But he still kills it honestly.
I know he had back surgery within the past couple years too and that could restrict movement. I used to be a relaxed player until I had half my back fused and now I'm a little more rigid.
