John Rustad...Good to see you! Thank you for standing up with truckers and standing up for my mom in the 80s...he caught 9-year-old me filling sugar & salt containers in his logging camps kitchen where my mom worked. He questioned me about school and helping my mom. I told him I had to help so she could come home for lunch and help in MY garden. LOL. (I planted 6 peas, she planted on 4 acres lol) He asked if I enjoyed helping...I said yes because if we grow food there was money for my toys and candy cuz you are too cheap to give my mom a raise. Mom freaked out and tried chasing me away from him. He asked, is she telling me the truth? You haven't received a raise in 9 years? She said I'm sorry she had no business talking to you like that. Boy did he ever tune my mom in for trying to shut me up for speaking up for her...gave me $100 bill for being a good lil helper, and tripled her wages with a yearly raise and Christmas bonus of $500 (what she made in one month before I spoke up) He knew I loved apples (ironically lol) every Christmas after that I got a case of apples, big boxes of toys and goodies with $100 bill until I turned 13 after that I got the same xmas bonus as my mom because I went to her camp on school holidays to visit and help her out with deep cleaning etc. John, your compassion for your employee made such a big difference in my childhood life. My brother and I...when we became employers...we treated our employees like you treated our single mom+ One day I'd like to hug you for that.

@@cindyhaduik7171 So true, coming to think of it...that incident appears to have shaped my life! His reaction to being called, cheap... by a 9-year-old kid was actually epic. (JT could use this read...all he had to do was talk to his Countrymen before bulldozing them with horses and bashing their brains with batons). (for the record, it was his contractors that were paying mom is why he didn't know she was not getting paid fairly) It taught me by reinforcement because it taught my mom that it is better to speak up when something bothers her before it "forms" her life, and how to respond to criticism right away before it "de-forms" her life. Mom didn't realize her moaning was giving me a negative view of her place of employment and bosses. Yeah, given what politicians, are doing to the structure of the family, and their children today after recanting this...Wow, just wow...Wonder what my momma+ would say if I asked to let John use her and me as an example that UBI is not needed in Canada...we just need some decent politicians to let Bosses be the unconditional "boss of their company."

Very good to see a MLA in BC who actually has the people of BC in mind. How hard is it for current politicians to understand the issues that are facing regular citizens of BC. We don't want government to control our lives and continue to squeeze us with additional taxes, we want them to manage infrastructure and coordinate the things that make our province function logistically. Thank you John Rustad for presenting a common sense platform and other useful ideas for BC.

Hopefully if elected, John Rustad will clean house at the BC Wildfire Service. British Columbians need to be equipped and adequately supported to contain and suppress wildfires when fires have the potential to threaten their homes and communities. Our current approach to firefighting in BC has been putting rural residents and communities at risk of wildfires for to long now.

I vote Conservative. It will be a hell of a mess to clean up both federally and provincially but, we have to start somewhere. David Eby has continued to erode the financial health of the province and it will not improve until he's removed. Free drugs to addicts? Really? Look around BC to see how successful that has been and continues to be.

It's great 👍 that the WS is giving a little press to some of the rational thoughts in BC. The media in BC has little time for anything outside the lower mainland/ Victoria powerbase of the NDP. John Rustad has a mainstream view of the rest of BC. NDP government has completely abandoned everything working class outside the lower mainland. The tourist industry is as far as the NDP goes for resource and industrial development. Pretty pictures don't create a lot of well paid jobs.

The current levels of CO2 in the atmosphere is .04%. It was .03 before the industrial revolution. Which coincides with the end of "The Little Ice Age", coincidence? The carbon tax is to prevent us from getting to the tipping point. But no one can say where the tipping point is. When the dinosaurs were around, the CO2 levels were above .08. That's more than twice what we have today. But it was better than today, not worse. Vegetation was lush and big and grew faster and used less water. Because the vegetation grew so big, the oxygen levels were also twice as high as they are today. Because vegetation/food was so readily available, animals grew larger, look at the size of the dinosaurs. So where is this tipping point.
What we do know, if CO2 levels drop to .02 plants starve, plants die. Remember, we are currently at .04%. so why are we being taxed. I can see removing soot from the atmosphere, not CO2.We should get rid of all carbon taxes. At least until someone can tell us where the tipping point is.
