Fjällräven Anorak No. 8
In this TH-cam video, we'll be taking about the Anorak No. 8 from the Swedish outdoor brand, Fjällräven. This Fjällräven Anorak is versatile and durable. Ideal for bushcraft enthusiasts and outdoor adventurers. What makes it stand out is its year-round usability, making it a dependable companion in various weather conditions.
The Fjällräven Anorak No.8 is not only practical but also highly functional. It offers ample pocket capacity, ensuring that you can easily carry all your small but essential bushcraft tools.
This anorak fits very well. It provides a snug and comfortable feel, allowing you to move freely while you're out in nature. The well-thought-out design and attention to detail give you a genuine outdoor experience.
One of the striking aspects of the Fjällräven Anorak No.8 is its aesthetic appeal. It's not just a functional piece of outdoor clothing; it looks really cool too.
Now, it's worth noting that quality often comes at a price, and the Fjällräven Anorak No.8 is no exception. While it may not be the most budget-friendly option out there, it's an investment in your outdoor adventures and a piece of gear that's made to last. We think at least.

I have one myself, absolutely stunning quality
Nice! Yeah it really is 😁👍
Just ordered one for myself, can’t wait to try on and test it out during some British rainfall 😂
Great review guys you helped me out with this one 💪🏻👍🏻
Thanks 😊
Congratulations with your purchase! 🥳 If you put it on during very rainy weather better to wax it in properly. Also very nice to test it during stormy weather. Gives great protection. Have fun with it😁👍
Quality anorak for sure that has lasted me for a long time. Even so mine has shown no signs of wearing away. In the long run, my expensive anorak has become a great value !
One thing you might’ve mentioned is just how comfortable the anorak becomes as you wear it 👍
Great review
Nice to hear that it holds the quality in the long run! That is our experience as well. I have mine for almost 4 years now and it looks used because of waxing but no signs of wearing.
Yeah thanks for pointing out about how comfortable it becomes as you wear it. It really does.
Thanks a lot!😁👍
Great review guys. Love your accents.
Glad to hear that! Thanks! :)
I have this jacket and if you’re looking for an excellent insulating layer I highly suggest the Stone Glacier Zenith hooded fleece jacket. The cut matches the Anorak really well. Like they were made for each-other.
Thanks for the tip! It looks truly awesome. Can imagine that it contributes to a lot of comfort. We both have often a fjällräven fleece ("Sten" it is called) jacket underneath but that one does not have a hoody.
Great review! Could you please do a video of Lapland friluft 45 backpack?
Thanks a lot! We have a Abisko and Kaipack backpack from Fjällräven we can review. We unfortunately do now own the friluft 45.
I just got the tarmac version of this in medium. Ive wanted it for such a long time but figured there’s no point waiting for the right time because inflation will only drive the price up. It will cost me just as much in the future and there’s no way I’m not going to have one. Cant wait!
Nice!! How is it? Are you happy with buying this anorak? Sounds very familiar regarding the process up to the actual purchase 😉. Still very happy with it. Cheers!
@@westcoastbushcraftersyeah I love it. I try to find reasons to wear it even when i dont need to. That doesn’t say much for its utility but rather my love for it. In terms of sheer practicality in some ways it’s not the most practical. It’s such a beautiful anorak that I have a hard time justifying getting it dirty which is what it’s meant for. But it is tough enough to withstand that dirt when i put it through the test. It’s ana amazing piece of kit.
Love the adjustability; the side zips to make it warmer or cooler. The chord at the bottom so it doesn’t blow up when completely undone; the two massive pockets; and the most adjustable hood and visor I’ve seen on any hood configuration ever. Top it all off with an extremely durable, abrasion resistant fabric that feels indestructible with adjustable sleeves that roll up easy and dont slide down and it’s honestly perfect in my opinion. It wont replace a jacket or something with more pockets/ more versatile. But for that strict niche in which this product full-fills, it does so perfectly. I highly rate this product. If you want it, just get it.
The anorak is on my bucket list for sure. I have another question though: your white dog, what kind of dog is it? Its really cute 😁
Haha nice compliment to our 4feet friend. His name is ”Kakan” which means cookie. Most dangerous and terrifying dog of the village. He goes under the dog breed Cockerpompoo
Buy once, cry once. Buy the highest quality ypu can afford.
Haha well said😁👍
Great review 😊 A very beautiful and high-quality anarok. Fjällräven is one of my favorite brands, unfortunately this no.8 anarok is very expensive at €500 in the Netherlands. I think I'm going to order one in the color 625 green. 620 green is the perfect collor green imo😊
Hi! Thanks a lot! It is absolutely our favorite jacket / anorak during the complete year. Fjällräven is our favorite brand as well. Fits a bushcrafters needs and durable but expensive! Today we talked about buying new trousers because we use it at least once a week. But they don't get worn out. Good quality.
thanks for a leaving a comment and good luck.
groeten,

A removable inner lining would have been nice, than this anarok was 100% perfect ;-)
I have worn the G1000 barends and keb pants almost every day for years and they are indestructible! The stretch parts on the keb pants were also perfect. Super! These trousers are so good that the army and special units in the Netherlands wear them.
That would have been a very nice combo for the colder days! We had a comment here of somebody recommending a hoodie that was a great fit to it. 👍
Cool! Didn’t know that the special units in NL is wearing those as well😁👍. Quality stuff🤘
Hi, I am wondering what is the size of this anorak you taking? Did you going down a size from your usual other fjallraven clothes please? I'm considering purchasing one, but the size stumps me. Thanks for any help.
Hi! Yes that is exactly what I did when purchasing the dark olive anorak no. 8. Contacted a fjällräven shop and they advised that as well. Normally I buy all clothes in size L but this anorak is size M and it fits perfect. Good luck😃👍
Are you pairing this with a poncho for rain?
No, but that is a possibility when you know you get a lot of rain for a longer time. When it is pouring like crazy I choose another jacket. More water resistant.
Can I ask what colours you are both wearing. One looks to be blue but the other looks to be cross between green and distressed leather. Or is this the appearance after applying Greenland wax?
Hi! We are wearing the Dark Grey version and the Dark Olive. The Dark Olive one has been greenland waxed a number of times👍
many thanks

Welcome😁👍
😉👍

@@westcoastbushcrafters 🍀
what knife is that that you use?
That is the Casström Lars Fält knife. We made an episode about that one if you want more info about it👍
A really excellent anorak I love it, but the FjallRaven wax is BS. You absolutely need to get the Barbour wax to impregnated it.
Thanks for the advice! The Fjällräven waxing process takes quite some time and effort to melt it into the fibers nicely.
What is the price for the no.8 in Sweden?
5999 SEK
Then this anorok is 37 euros more expensive in Sweden than in the Netherlands
Price has gone up a lot over last 4 years.
Recently bought a second hand one in olive colour in mint condition. Proofed the anorak in Nikwax cotton proofer and hood, shoulders and arms with Greenland wax, people must realise that the anorak isn’t waterproof as in heavy rain the seams will leak best in cold dry conditions. 🤔👍
Thanks for pointing out that it is not a rain jacket. It protects against some rain but like you said during heavy rain it will leak through the seams. 👍
Fjallraven fa productes excel·lents.
Sounds worth checking out when thinking of buying an anorak👍
Far too expensive. Varusteleka have sensibly priced alternatives!
Definitely not cheap
@@mariumrajah Fjalraven is great gear, I have several pieces of kit from them, all good and fit for purpose, but I've found d the prices prohibiting. Varusteleka have some very good alternatives at very competitive prices and they also are fit for purpose in the outdoors. Worth a look!
@@grahampovey8073 I’ve spent over £4000 on fjallraven clothes & gear .
West Coast??? Northern California? Puget Sound? Portland? Can’t place the accent 😂
haha nope, Swedish West Coast it is ;-)
