    I upgraded from stock to a Corbin for my CTX700. After a couple of thousand miles, I’ve decided it’s the most comfortable seat I’ve had on a bike. It fits perfectly and broke in easily. Highly recommended.

    What great points regarding wetness, and latch mechanism, and heat. All important things overlooked in reviews

    I have two Corbin Saddles; one from 2003 and another from 2014 on two different bikes. The older one was hard as a rock(but still comfortable). The newer one was much softer. The thing to be wary about is whether or not you will get the seat in good condition. Corbin's after sales service lately has been not so good. If your saddle has a factory defect and it gets past quality control you will be left holding the bag for shipping back to the factory for warranty repair. Beware.

    They make a rain cover that fits like a glove for wet weather

    That CTX is a hell of a bike. Too bad it didn't sell well. I own one of them as well as a Valkyrie. A Corbin on that bike will make it like a couch on wheels!

    Very good points you presented for a review vid. I'm not planning to buy a Corbin--I'm too cheap, BUT if I change my mind someday for a new bike?? I'd started using an old white towel years ago to avoid butt burns although I have not had a morning-dew wet butt before...

    An idea for the wetness would be mink oil or some boot waterproofing spray. It’s just an idea. Maybe not a good one.

    Some people still have to use an air cushion on top of the Corbin. for really long rides ...

    See a used Corbin one piece rider and passenger for sale that will fit my st 1300. I did not know these seats were made based on rider weight, inseam etc. I might need to hold off on such a purchase. I would be getting it mainly so my wife can have a more comfortable ride..

      You could always ask the seller what their measurements are and what position they sit in, and if there is any difference in seat position from factory seat. I'm sure you could get a good idea if the seat would work for you by talking to them. If they seem to have the same body type as you it might work just fine. Thanks for watching!

    Kyle, what if you sprayed leather waterproofing from Wilson Leather on the threads... or tent waterproofing????

    I love the Corbin seats too. I've purchased 4 of them on a variety of bikes. It made my FZ-07 rideable for long distances, and I love it on my Indian Springfield and Suzuki C50. I'm looking at a CTX 700n for my wife. what do your think? She's 5'2" and rides a Suzuki S40.

    Did you get the drivers backrest with the seat? Is easy to install and remove??? Thanks…

    • @kyleweber4543
      @kyleweber4543  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did not get the backrest, I had remove the latch loop from under the seat and put a stack of washers under the loop to make the seat latch and unlatch normally otherwise I was not able to get the seat to latch properly when I received it. If I would have forced the back of the seat down really hard I might have got it to latch but it would have put a lot of stress on the latch mechanism on the bike.

    How bad was the stock seat. My wife and I rode a standard yesterday for a very short ride but thought it was pretty good. This seat looks like a Corbin “Long” version meaning long for the driver. I think Long or regular is all they offer. They don’t do much individual mods but maybe they have changed. I don’t think my wife could fit on it like the stock seat. I am soaking up all your vids right now as I ponder buying this Black Standard for $6K with 6K miles on it. I am even contemplating darksiding it. It will need the Madstad windscreen but has the centerstand, fender extender, bar risers, and a trunk. Tough call. Thx.

      I'm sorry easyrider4x, I always try to respond to comments but it seems I have missed this one. Did you end up getting the bike?

    • @easyrider4x
      @easyrider4x 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes but it didn’t last long for us. I had issues with the front suspension giving me wrist slap. I put some Rox rubber mounted risers on it and they helped a lot but in the end I sold it. I went back to a Victory Cross Country Tour. Still have it and like it a lot. Very reliable, simple to maintain, and very comfortable for me and the wife . Except it is heavy with no reverse assist. I am getting old enough to now want to downsize so we will see. Take care and ride on!

      I'm not sure, I've always had leather seats from Corbin so I can't really give you any info on the fabric. Sorry!

    A much better touring seat is the Day long cycle saddle. Corbins are way to hard. Believe me, I know. You will never regret it.

    A 600 dollar seat and you have to modify it for it to fit. 😒 🤔
