I tuned in to this because my day was full of static. I AM totally impressed.
You are the pun-master supreme!😄 Thanks for always making me smile with your comments!
Ara, 🌞
You create the most adorable detailed dollhouse miniatures - - And from paper and cardboard.
I unapologetically appreciate the economy of your material source. This cute little radio brought a smile to my face today. :)
Thank you.
Thank you Darnelle! I feel like paper just makes sense to me lol! It's a bonus that it is easily available! I am so glad you enjoyed the video😊
Oh Em Gee! I love love LOVE the radio! Can almost hear the Big Band Jazz and Swing music from that era!
🎷🎺🎸🎹 Thank you!
So talented and so generous! Thank you for sharing your brilliance! Love it when you collab with Daniela!
Thank you Nicki! I am still laughing that we did something so similar without even discussing it!
Seeing you put up a new video just made my day! I love watching your creativity come to life!
Aww thank you! So glad you enjoyed it!
Very nice radio, Ara! Really nice!
Someday I'd love to see someone create a Wayne Manor with a staircase hidden behind the grandfather clock that leads to a Batcave down below with all the classic Batcave elements from the comic books. Not the 1960's tv show version, but from the classic comics. Some research would be required, but the internet could really help out with that. There's tons of Batman info online. Batman was created in 1939, so Wayne Manor could make good use of mini furnishings from the 1930s-'40s era. A big project, sure, but that would offer some very fun and unique challenges.
I would love that too Loston! I grew up loving Batman and the entire aesthetic of Gotham and its characters. Maybe someday I could do that project... I already have a few batman figures that would fit right in!
This is just beautiful! I was holding my breath on the prongs LOL That's just lovely.
Thank you Rachael! All the miniaturists know if you breath you tiny pieces will go flying lol!🤣 Glad you enjoyed!
A very realistic 1930’s radio, another wonderful build. 👏👏👏👍👍
Thank you Paula! Glad you like it!
That’s so cute and so detailed! 😍 Imagine if you could have a tiny bluetooth speaker inside it 😱
Cheap bluetooth ear buds? 🤔
That's a great idea!
This little radio is just wonderful! It'd be perfect in my 1920s/1930s dollhouse that I'm working on, so you know I'll be making this for sure. Great job, Ara!
Yay! I am so glad it will be helpful for you!
Wow, amazing!! I love vintage radios and appliances. I see a minerature diorama with your vintage items in the future...
Whoo hoo! 😊
Love this! Thank you thank you thank you! Going to make one at 1:24 scale... a challenge... but I can do it!
I hope you will share it with me! I haven't seen it done in that scale!
That is so beautiful. I am going to make one and add an LED light so that the dial lights up
Oh yay! I hope you will share a photo with me!
Being a music teacher, I think it would be interesting, when you have time, create a musical instrument from the 1930"s that is not used today or not, just thinking of the drawing I see on your think journaling book.
Do you have any instruments that you suggest? ;)
@@BentleyHouseMinis I started doing a little research on that and I looked up player pianos. Here in Milwaukee, the only places I find them now to even look at them is at a antique shops around town who specialize in unusual things. Some are in pieces but I know of a few people here in Milwaukee who actually restore them to playing glory. I think it would be a difficult task. At House on the Rocks at Spring Green Wisconsin, they have actually player pianos that you can touch and watch play, incredible. Sorry for the long reply . Here is what i found on the link below. Very interesting. Hopefully your kids get a chance to do music in schools, I will be all virtual starting in 2 weeks Oh my. Lol. www.midi.org/midi-articles/midi-and-player-pianos
You have a real knack for creating miniatures and your videos are truly top notch! Thank you for sharing this lovely radio, I hope to see more from your other participants, I have not been creating miniature works for quite some time, but I am enjoying watching your videos and seeing you create your pieces!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate that😊
This turned out absolutely wonderful! And this could be done quite easily in cardboard too. Thank you for sharing!
It definitely could! Thank you so much my friend!
BTW I was super impressed with the making of the cord, prongs (ext cord). That's awesome!
Thank you so much! It's all in the details lol ;)
How fun! Coincidentally ... this was one of my "Top 5" pieces that I had my wife choose from for my giveaway project. I still intend to make one, but with a twist. One of these days!
Great job! Always love watching your techniques! Keep up the great work!
Can't wait to see what your 'twist' will be! Glad you enjoyed it!
The tiniest little plug though!!!!! Ahh! I love your work so much :)
Thank you! 😊
Thank you for the pattern. Made the cutest radio!
This thing looks SO amazing! I absolutely love how cute and detailed it is. Also always love that you do old fashiondy things. :D
Thank you so much!!
I just love how the radio turned out! :D another vintage for the win! :D 💜💜💜
Yay, thank you!
It was so fun to watch your video, not knowing what you did, I love your result, it is so funny that we made something so much alike, and I totaly forgot the plug on mine :-( Thank you for the collab
I love that yours was made from wood and mine was paper. There are so many different ways to make things in mini! It's one of the fun things about the art form! Thanks for doing the collab with me!
I love it! When I grew up everyone had radios like these. You did a fabulous job. - Stephanie
Thank you so much!💖
Wow..sooo cool...u amaze me!i love to watch u draw,,li have that exact radio u drew..my mom and I use to go to antique auctions all the time when I was a teen
Once again, thank you for bringing joy to my morning. I can think of few ways to better start a day than with Bentley House and caffeine........the masterful creation is the "cinnamon toast" bonus of my morning!
PS My sieve of a mind had completely forgotten your Sock Chair...............the perfect solution to making some bland "contemporary" living room pieces slipcovers to get the late 1930s look I need for a certain room. Thanks for the memory jog!!!
Yum! Cinnamon toast! I am so glad you enjoyed the radio and I am also glad the chair will be helpful!
This is so cute. I might do this, and stick like one half of a crappy set of earbuds in for the "plug" that way it can discreetly be plugged into a phone or ipod or something behind the scene and play old music.
Perfect! Love that idea!
Just lovely, Ara! That scene is going to be gorgeous.
Thank you Joanne! I am really getting excited about it!
This was so cool....makes we want to do a 1930’s kitchen with all your kits😊
Me too! I wonder how many more things I am going to make for it before I get some walls up lol!
So cute!! I really enjoyed watching your process for creating this lil gem. Thanks for posting!
Very cute, I miss reading your blog 👍
Thank you! I haven't update the blog in forever! Thank you for still following along here on YT💖
I enjoyed Daniella's wood version of the radio! But for me I find working with paper easier. I do though want to practice more with making things from wood and polymer clay. Both radios were really nice! Great videos and two thumbs up for creativity from me for sure.
Thank you Rhonda! I think one of the fun parts of making minis is the abundance of different materials you can use to make something similar!
Absolutely love this!!! I was squinting with you on the prongs ;)
😄 Yes they are so tiny lol!
I have ordered this kit and look forward to making it 🙂
It should be arriving soon I hope! The delivery times have been driving me crazy lately😮 I hope you enjoy it Rachel!
@@BentleyHouseMinis I should have been more clear. It has arrived!
Love the little radio!
Thank you!
Looks so beautiful! Gonna look great in any theme dollhouses 💕
Thank you Macen!!!💖
So cute Ara. Love it. Thanks for the surprise Wednesday video!
Thanks Robin! So glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you so much! Love the radio pattern.
So glad you like it!
Thank you so much! You are a light in the darkness!
😊 Aww thank you!
I love this 1930's theme!
This is so cute!! and thanks for the svg!! I can't wait to make one
Wow some of those pieces are soooooo tiny! You must have alot of patience to be able to work with such itty bitty pieces!
The patience comes and goes lol! Sometimes I take a break in between tiny pieces ;)
Thanks for pointing me at Sean at Dofinmagik as I think he has solved two of my problems immediately! Great group of creative people Ara, I am going to follow every suggestion you make from now on! Have a great holiday weekend!
I am so glad to hear that! Each artist has something new to bring to the table and I think it just keeps this art form so exciting!😊
Hi,
You create amazing projects. Thank you
Thank you! 😊
hello :) awesome mini, thanks !!
Thank you 🤗
Hi - thank you for this awesome video. That gave me some great inspirations for my own projects. Your work is so beautiful. I hope one day I will become as inspirational like you. Greetings Sascha
I just love "Ara build days", always so fun to watch and learn. I have kind of a strange question, I was trying to make some tiny pipe cleaner dolls yesterday and my fingers are terribly fumbly, does that get better over time or am I just doomed, lol? Just love the radio, it looks so realistic.
Hmmm good question! I am not sure that my fingers have really gotten any more stable over time BUT I have found ways to stabilize my hand (by leaning it against something or resting it a certain way) or tools that help me hold things while I work. I think finding a set of tools and clamps that work for you may be something to look into. It def helped me!
As always your Creations are amazing and wonderful and totally my style I am new to the Cricut maker had it for very long time but have not delved into it so I was curious what blade you use and how many passes and so on and so forth I'm just learning about that stuff thank you in advance again you are absolutely wonderful
Brilliant, I do like this enormously. I do wonder if you mounted the dial on plastic if a very small LED light could have been used to light it up, as you so thoughtfully made a plug hole for it. Thank you so much for the freebie too x
Definitely a possibility! If you try it out I would love to see!
Love it
Thank you!
😍 love it. You are so talented
What are you, the best?! Thank you for this!
😊😊 You're welcome!
Adorable and thanks so much for the pattern!
Absolutely love this. The design is one of my faves. I;m sure this design will find its way in one of my miniatures one day. Thank you for always making such great video's. :}
Aw thank you! Glad you like it!
It is so tiny, but i love it , you have magic fingers. stay safe :)
Why would someone down vote this? This is a great video. I immediately sub'd.
Thank you for the sub and welcome to the channel!
I love it Ara, great vintage vibe! 😍💖✨
Lovely job well done
I love this! I ordered the kit so I can make one too! great job Ara.
Yay! I sent it off to you this morning!
@@BentleyHouseMinis It will be perfect in the Witch house! I love your creativity and appreciate you very much!
Love it!!! Thanks again, Ara
So cute!
I love it.
Thank you! 😊
I was thinking you could do your Captains' spaceship control disguised as a floor model radio cabinet.
Hi; I stopped at the drug store and they are putting out Halloween stuff. I found a light up wand with fiber optics. I bet if you could find one you could use it to light up a project and not require a lot of space or do any wiring.
This is such a cute piece! I love it an I'm most definitely going to try an make it.
Yay! Happy creating!
This is spectacular!!! I Love it!!💓TYFS!
Love your videos! I also have a quick question! Do you happen to known where I can find 1:6 scale hinges?
Thank you Will! I am sorry I don't have a good hinge source for that scale :(
such a great job!!
Like I said on Instagram...This is great, Ara!!!!
Are these cut with a laser, or your Cricut? Looks so awesome, as always. Thanks for sharing.
This is so cute
I'm going to have to go totally 80's for this prompt (when I can catch up)! I've got prompt #1 & #2 done, working on #3 and may have to cheat a little on a couple. There's a items I've made recently that fit. So hopefully that's ok. 😄
Yay! I can't wait to see your prompts Em!
Lovin it! That is so realistic and really good work. I'd sure like to try to make it but dont know. What kind of paper or wood are you using? Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Kim! For the body of the radio I used 1/16th inch matboard and the details are cut from plain cardstock 👍
Love it!
Brilliant thank you ♥️
A very interesting craft! I really enjoyed the video. I got here because I was looking for some full scale radio replica designs, I think I could adapt your templates to cut out the pieces on my CNC machine using MDF or something similar (I do have a Design-n-Cut so could make the miniature too ;-)). Is there a full scale version of the dial?
That would be so interesting if you were able to translate it to full scale! I know there are radio replacement parts out there on certain sites so I am sure you could find something. Let me know if you try it!
Love it ♥️
Ara I wonder where I could find scraps of matboard. I see big quantities on Amazon but I don't need that much. I had gone to Michaels crafts store and asked the ladies behind the framing section if they had any scraps and they said they do not. I also asked at Hobby Lobby but they did not. I probably could make do with something that people are actually throwing away LOL. This little radio is adorable I want to make it for my gnome house.
The only other place I could think for you to check would be a family owned frame or art shop. Sometimes they cut their own mats and they might have left overs. If you are just wanting the make the radio you can purchase pre-made mats from Hobby Lobby and just make sure it has at least a 2 "border so you can fit the pieces. Just an idea so you don't have to buy a whole piece ;)
@@BentleyHouseMinis oh okay well thank you for responding Ava I appreciate it!
Ummm when you were doing the dial you gave the the idea of using the business card laminate sheets that I have as they are the smallest laminated sheets I have on hand 😹😹😹😹and then just run it through my machine and then cut out making sure I have other projects with it that way I can use both sides of the laminate for small projects 😹😹 and not waste even the smallest part 😹😹
I love the radio it looks like the one we had when I was 5 years old we use to love listening to the radio story time every Saturday night and repeated on Sunday 😹😹 we did not have a TV until I was 8-9 years old Dad bought it from a second hand shop we had a choice of two radios but we all fell in love with the old one compared to the modern one 😹😹 plus it was cheaper too🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂we lost it when we moved to Australia it vanished out of our shipping container😾😾😾
Now if you made that as a kit to sell that would be great 😹😹😹😹
Wonderful idea Angela! Sounds like a great way to use resources ;) Love hearing your memories of this style radio! It is going to be a kit in my shop but is currently out of stock while I repair my laser cutter. Hopefully it will be back in stock by next week! ;)
Bentley House Minis Sweet I have been so busy with the house at the moment painting I have not had time for any of my hobbies or projects I’m glad you like the idea 😹😹will be glad once the house is finished then Dad and I can get back to basics and have fun again😹😹😹😹
Radio!!❤❤❤
Thanks for this(from an antique radio fan)- I'm not sure if you copied an actual vintage model radio, but I'd rather build an enlarged version of yours than spend $300 on a vintage set that doesn't even work on eBay!
Love it.😊 tfs
Thank you! 😊
I love it and this channel
Thank you so much Abi!
Very war of the worlds style radio
I have never seen that! I will have to look it up ;)
@@BentleyHouseMinis the book by hg wells is actually better than the movie but the history of it was it was an old radio broadcast story on those vintage radios and then people believed that it was an actual news cast that aliens were invading earth in the 1930s, it would be a good one to add to the Captain's book collection too
can you place a tinny wireless speaker in it as to make it seem like a real radio??????
Hi Ara! I finally got a Cricut Maker and I wondered if you might be able to offer some insight. I'm still learning, but I added this pattern to my project design space and ensured the square measured 1" x 1". However, parts G, D and C have error messages telling me the images are too big, so they aren't showing up on the canvas at all. I tried to cut the ones that did show up anyhow, but got an error message that this file is incompatible. Any ideas? I used the JPEG format. I tried to use the shareable but it blacked it all out and removed all the text. Thank you!
Unfortunantly I don't know much about Cricut's design space so I am not sure how much help I can be. My best suggestion would be to google "opening an SVG in Cricut Design Space" to see if there are any helpful hints there. If it's still giving you issues I can try to reach out to one of my friends with a Cricut to see if they know. Sorry I can't be more help
👍😊
Great tutorial. I tried opening the SVG file in Design Space and I get errors and then just big black rectangles.
Hi Sue! I am sorry I don't know anything about Design Space so I am not sure how to fix your error. If I do find something out I will let you know.
Hi I am trying to upload this pattern to cricut design space and it will not bring over certain items, I have done the hoosier cabinet the ice box and the stove. Any idea why this one is not compatible with cricut design space
Love your stuff thanks so much
Would this pattern be harder to put this together if we used thicker matboard?
I don't think so.... maybe just cutting the holes in piece A might be harder but other than that I think it should still work OK👍
What kind of cutting machine did you use?
Hello do you have the pattern for this but in a bigger size?
Hate myself🤣 wasted over 100$ on items on amazon for items that looked like yours(stove etc) I feel so silly.. did not know you sold kits ...last I checked you were only thinking about it😑my printer is broken and I did not want to buy a new so I just went on amazon🤦🏽♀️ my loss but Hey we live and learn.
I haven't talked on YT about my kits much because I am still a very small business and I can't keep up with large scale orders. But this little kit is a quick one to cut thankfully! As my business grows and I get more equipment I will share more and more when new kits are available ;) You can always sign up for my email list (link in description) if you want weekly shop updates. So glad you liked the items in the store!
I love it, but thinks that it is almost impossible to cut with an exacto
Thank you! I think if you left out the interior filigree its def possibly with a sharp new blade ;) 👍
I now see that you sell laser cut kits
Yes! I do have a whole video on my laser cutter if you are interested ;)
What laser cutter do you recommend for these projects?
Here is my video with all the info I know about laser cutters. I hope it helps! th-cam.com/video/evJtlwc2iJQ/w-d-xo.html
would love to make this but not all the pieces are in the svg file so it's pretty useless
If you are using Cricut Design space then sometimes it does weird things with the SVG files. I know its worked for several people so I am wondering if it might be software related?
I can never get any of your files to work. SVG wouldn’t move to Cricut. When I did move the JPEG it kept wanting to remove background, when it did nothing was there. Tried to move another one and Cricut kept saying it was to big. Frustrated and disappointed
When I first start sharing files I didn't even know about Design Space and how it worked. My newer files are now worked out so that they should work in any program but there are ways to take a generic SVG and switch them to work for Design Space. I am not sure the exact steps but I know there are tutorials on YT that tell you the steps. I hope that helps!
@@BentleyHouseMinis I am still learning, lol. I did manage to move it to design space but it’s asking to remove background. If I do the page turns black. So frustrating I have a lot of learning to do
bentley Hi, nice to meet you
I enjoy watching my friend's video so much
I communicate often
I always support you
Have a nice day~^^

Thanks for visiting
Just Great.. You did it again. A lovely miniature work of art
I really love the radio. Definitely buying the kit!!
Thank you Jan!! They should be restocked as soon as my laser gets fixed!
This is wonderful! One hint, if you print the dial on glossy photo paper you don't have to use the clear piece
Great tip!
