first came across this while recording my first studio album, the recording engineer said i should listen to this song and I've been listening to this version for many years now... it is incredible that one human did all that, considering how perfect it is.
I'm so glad I found him by mistake,, on a Radiohead or basement playlist. 💞 What a multi talented musician & when he whistles! My heart sings 🙂♏♉🏴💫
That is exactly how I found him also!! I've now seen him 6 times and Radiohead 5 times! What is kinda crazy is that after a little digging I'm pretty sure Radiohead was there on the same date, and on the next album Thom put out Give Up The Ghost!! Also a sample/ loop song!!! Did he witness Andrew playing and wrote that song?? Kinda a huge coincidence if not!
This isn't your song This isn't your music How can there be wrong When by committee they choose it all They choose it all now Turn, turn You're gonna grow old You're gonna grow so cold Bearing signs on the avenue We'll fight, well fought For your music halls And your dying cities They'll fight They'll fight for your neural walls And your plasticities And precious territory And precious territory This isn't our song This isn't even a musical Isn't life too long To be a whale in a cubicle Nails under your cuticle Turn, turn You're gonna grow old You're gonna grow so cold Before this song can deliver you You're bearing signs on the avenue, ooooh oh We'll fight, well fought For your music halls And your dying cities They'll fight For your neural walls And your plasticities
When I'm walking down the street; I sometimes have this incredible urge to look at someone's eyes for a prolonged period of time; as they pass me by; I look at their facial gestures to figure out how they are exactly feeling in life. And also, whether they've ever experienced anything similar to what I am experiencing at 5:16. A point that breaks through time and space and makes some room for itself for an indefinite amount of time. I feel like I'm one of those lucky bunch who has gotten to experience it. And I'm truly glad.
I think he kicks his shoes off for a practical reason: to turn the knob on the delay pedal with his foot to get that pitch-bendy sound at the end…still legendary though.
there are a lot of songs for a lot of situations. I like to come here when i feel my soul burning from unresolved hatred. It calms me down. I need to see someone..
I guess I can finally say the most cliche thing on youtube ... "First" haha. But on the real, I'm hoping to see more from the basement performances in the near future. Especially seeing Andrew Bird, Radiohead (come back to do AMSP), and other acts new and old return.
“I am going to stop commenting on Andrew Bird videos out of sanity. The different result thing. Thanks for all the crickets Mr. Bird.” ,dan’ (a pro at returning favors)
The violin ending is one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard
He really knows his way around... everything.
A. This is the best thing i've ever heard
B. Losing the shoes at 6:19 is just legendary
C. DILF
This man is without a doubt one of the best musicians on the planet right now
I wish I could just sit down with him for an hour and try to understand how his brain works. I think I would cry at the beauty of it.
Violin and whistling sooo pleasing to my soul

This music is literally the inside of my soul. Along with the Cocteau Twins
You must have a beautiful and truly original soul.
That dude sure can whistle.
If you ever saw the muppet movie with Jason Segel, he did all the whistling for Walter in it. 😀
@@mayfordays8369 I just watched this the other day and had no idea. Thank you for my weird fact for the day!
He is a bird after all
He whistles like a Midwesterner. I whistle just the same, it's crazy. Same tambour.
He is the master of it, he invented whistling man
Had this as an mp3 for years. So glad to see it again!

This isn't your song
This isn't your music
How can there be wrong
When by committee they choose it all
They choose it all now
Turn, turn
You're gonna grow old
You're gonna grow so cold
Bearing signs on the avenue
We'll fight, well fought
For your music halls
And your dying cities
They'll fight
They'll fight for your neural walls
And your plasticities
And precious territory
And precious territory
This isn't our song
This isn't even a musical
Isn't life too long
To be a whale in a cubicle
Nails under your cuticle
Turn, turn
You're gonna grow old
You're gonna grow so cold
Before this song can deliver you
You're bearing signs on the avenue, ooooh oh
We'll fight, well fought
For your music halls
And your dying cities
They'll fight
For your neural walls
And your plasticities
Damn that's a great performance.

I often look people directly in the eye walking down the street as well; 100%, without fail, I can tell they're feeling uncomfortable.
Fucking yes you guys actually saved the performances. Bless

He is perfect. Just music.
This song and the way he plays it is just incredible!
And this voice...
I just can't stop listening to it!

“Featuring his shoes making a guest appearance, his guitar.”

dude really said f*ck it and kicked off his shoes
He didn't feel comfortable
His layering is absurd.
Hoorah for his masterpieces. I still can't help thinking he's a tortured soul/artist.
this song makes me ugly cry in the best way
