The climax with Yoda trying to bring down the temple pillars and take all the bad guys with him reminded me of the story of Samson in the Bible bringing down the temple in his final moments. Just an interesting parallel I noticed.
The Jedi Temple is on top of a Force Nexus point. Considering that currently the Jedi is in charge of the temple, Yoda could had used the energies of the Force Nexus under the temple to cause a massive force explosion to deplete its energies. It's why Palpatine made the temple as his fortress after the clone wars so that he can bath in that Force energy. With Yoda having spent a lot more time inside the temple than Palpy, he could had tap that excess energy to cause a massive force energy explosion or even some other force techniques that's supercharged like a Force Crush, just that it will burn him out.

I imagine something like a scene from the ending shot of malgus's attack on corusaunt 1000 years before, the city in flames, sky red, venators pounding the crap out of each other, while starfighters streak overhead!
IMO, I don't see Obi Won surviving. He barely took down Vader on Mustafar and that was a fully 1 on 1 fight with few distractions (nix the environment). Being in the temple while those closest to him are cut/shot down, watching his "brother" commit atrocities in front of his face? I def see Obi mentally spiraling and not able to sustain himself against Vader (and clones) after a point.

Let's be real here, any time Anakin dies during Order 66 is a bigger L for the Galaxy than him executing it, because there is nobody powerful enough canonically to take on Sidious at that point. The only time these what ifs feel genuine are when it takes multiple parts for Anakin to be convinced Sidious is a liar.
Great fanfic I like this path, I would change that obi wan had to find the truth in order to clear the Jedi orders name and then coming to find the full recordings of palpatines battle and finding out anakin turned. Of course this would make obi wan heart broken but he would live with the pain of that forever, keeping it a secret from padme and the kids, but then maybe Luke and Leigh discover it somehow and are conflicted because all they heard growing up was what a great Jedi and man their father was. Also the main villain in the galaxy can be Maul with his crime scyndicate and maybe maul trying to turn Luke or Leigh.

Nah. Yoda wouldn't choke him. No emotion, even immediately post-Shaak Ti death. Cut through calf and thigh would've been followed within 1 second by slash across neck. Even Sidious standing at other side of hallway initiating force lightning at the moment of the thigh and calf slash wouldn't have reached yoda in time to save anakin. And yoda would've known taking just one shot of force lightning would be well worth it to finish anakin.

What if Legends and Canon Merged? I have written 13 complete chapters so far and they will be amazing if brought to life!!! There are more chapters that are WIPs but it will be one of the best sagas you will ever have!!!
I think if yoda were strong enough in the force to force pull palpy while roof is crumbling, then he would've won the duel in the senate. Sidious couldn't beat yoda lightsaber vs lightsaber. The whole point of ep 3 was sidious was stronger in the force. He could've refused the force pull and hold up a small bit of roof over his head simultaneously. The sad truth is, the way ep 3 finished made OT stupid... Luke raised on swamp drilling anti-force lightning tutaminis all day long, followed by plot by both masters and Luke and Leia to distract vader while allowing Luke to "get brought" to sidious who thinks he can turn him to dark side, works like a charm. Wham, 25 year old jedi consular master luke kills sidious plus royal guards with ease with his own redirected force lightning. Meanwhile Leia kills vader without even knowing he's her father, after obi-wan tires him out first. Both twins survive, with stoic jedi mentality the way yoda tried to raise jedi for 800 years. That "I failed with the order" stuff written in the ep 3 novel is true in general, but not where anakin specifically was concerned. "He's too old" plus jedi order stiffness was right about anakin. Take away EITHER of those conditions, and you don't get Anakin turn so hard; at most just grey but morally good Anakin force crushes Sidious's thorax while Council ungratefully furrows their eyebrows, then anakin never goes sith b/c no one is left to tempt him to continue the so-called inevitable dark path. With vader having fewer midi-chlorians, two anakin-level midi-chlorian 25 to 30-year-old jedi trained from birth by yoda & obi-wan would've pummeled vader plus palpy. Watch ep 5 plus 6 again. Prior to the invitation to the throne room, Sidious has ZERO interest in Luke b/c he thinks Luke has shown anger or fear or hatred and thus is able to be turned, the way Sidious preyed on Anakin's emotions. He's purely interested in Luke b/c high power level of luke, reduced power level of vader, arrogance to think he can turn anyone, and logical fallacy to think that because luke is anakin's son and anakin could be turned, then luke must also be able to be turned. (even though farm boy does not equal slave, you idiot prick palpy; think about someone's background before you presume to manipulate him) He invites Luke to the throne room with zero direct information about or contact with Luke and minimal actual logical reason to think he can turn him. He has one vague, weak plan to turn Luke by threatening his friends. The only reason why you'd even speculate that is the fact a slightly similar plan worked on Anakin, but that was pregnant wife after weeks of force visions of Padme's death. So yeah, of course Sidious's plan fails. And as Luke points out in that very room, Palpy's overconfidence is his weakness. It's what gets him to make the dumbest possible move: invite Luke right in, when for all Palpy knows, Luke might've been trained in force powers so strongly that he simply over-powers palpy lightning twice as hard as yoda plus mace could combined, then snaps Palpy's neck. (mediocre saber skills doesn't preclude amazing force training that demolishes Palpy plus vader with flick of the wrist, no saber necessary)

Anakin lost to Obiwan and Yoda is more powerful than Obiwan at this time. Not to mention Anakin's saber style is one that focuses on being able to overwhelm your opponent in offense, which means it is weak to a highly mobile small opponent like Yoda.
