I had an old targa 1984 and loved it beautiful in its simplicity and raw nature (no power steering, manual only gears and top and definitely no traction control). I have had to graduate to performance mortocycles for my "fix" (family, bills, grown up stuff) but really enjoy your videos and seeing another gear hear on this planet earth doing what he loves and enjoying life - Cheers

I'm quite happy with the extra 90kg that beautifully-engineered roof mechanism presents. The extra weight doesn't bother me that much, since this is not a track car, in the first place. It's forte lies in driving along some of the world's most stunning roads, with the wind in your hair. And it that aspect, it excels- as your video shows.
Mate, this was absolutely beautiful! Brilliantly shot and edited. And the car was brilliant too! Although I'm still not sure if I love it or not. I get a feeling that the targa mechanism was over-engineered. If Porsche really wanted to stay true to the original, a manually removable roof and fixed rear hatch would have worked better. It would save a lot of weight as well. But that's just me. Seems like you and many others did indeed love it! So, when are you going to buy it?

It's a very classy modern Porsche, I agree with everything in your review. However, the allure of the new 911 GTS and Cayman GT4 due to their focus on driving pleasure and for being available in manual transmission are simply what I would look for in a new Porsche. I think it's fascinating how the 911 can have a different "personality" from one trim to another.

pabelox Thanks, yes when you drive fast it does between 25 to 30mpg. I think it's a choise of Porsche to keep a clean design on the steering wheel, which I really approve.
It looks like a Porsche Cayman, the only reason the 911 guys have made it look like this as they know that the Cayman is better! its an excuse, not an aesthetic desire...
