I wish they made more quality movies based on ubelievable but true stories that happened during wars. My personal candidate would be story of Wojtek, soldier bear that fought in the battle of Monte Casino during WWII as part of Polish II Corps
Mine would definitely be the Battle of Castle Itter, German defector troops and American troops defend a prison castle used to contain high-class prisoners from the SS.
I went into this movie thinking, "This premise is really stupid." I came out of this movie thinking, "This really happened, and that's CRAZY, but I'm happy for that community that it did."
surprisingly accurate to the book except for the CIA chasing him and the reporter he was alone during the Tet offensive, the US blowing up the embassy wall was a real life cover up because the NVA was already in there working various jobs within the embassy, and the US didn't want the press to know their low security was breached.
Saying he’s an underrated actor is crazy lmao. He’s literally won multiple awards and is obsessed over by most women. He is in no way underrated lmao. Also you have no authority what so ever to say that beer is bad for a soldier and that a buzz would be bad. You have no clue what war is or looks like. You don’t have time to think about anything. It’s instinct. A buzz isn’t changing shit besides giving you a better feeling before risking your life. In a situation like that you don’t get drunk… it just doesn’t happen. Your body is in a state that don’t allow that to happen. A beer just helps your body got back to normal life for a minute and try and help you calm the adrenaline. Just look in the mirror my guy. Just look at yourself and it should be clear why you shouldn’t be saying what’s good or bad in a war setting. Closest you’ve had is call of duty. Acting like you know better is so disrespectful and insulting.

i’m so glad that i’m not the only one who got super emotional at the little Vietnamese girl being scared. ripped my heart in two.
I think this is Zac's best performance to date
i love that the real chickie used the "tourist" thing to get lifts on planes, helicopters and trucks

All four of the people he visited made it back to New York and continued get drinks together for years after
Vietnam has just as much a right and wrong side as very other war the difference is there wasn’t a front so it was more chaotic

The greatest beer run ever was in fact "Smokey and the Bandit"
This movie was surprisingly great. Just the right kind of funny and somehow made me tear up at the end.
