yes you are right she can only see them through a camera or video because she represents us: we only interact with these idols through videos and cameras and sometimes we leave them (move on) but at the end the fan opens up an old box and rewatches their videos, getting back into the fandom. New jeans will always be here for their fans.

It would've made more sense if you watched Ditto first before OMG because there are scenes in OMG which are from the recording of the protagonist in Ditto and in the beginning of OMG, the iPhone girl actually sent a letter to the protagonist in Ditto which is named Ban Heeseo. Ban Heeseo is basically "Bunnies" which is NewJeans' fandom name, they kind of have the same pronunciation and sounds the same. So basically Ditto is the perspective of the protagonist which is a fan of NewJeans, her name is literally the goup's fandom name Ban Heeseo = Bunnies (korean pronunciation). Ban Heeseo felt like NewJeans are actually really with her, it's a fan getting too attached with their idol that they get confused with reality and fantasy. OMG is the perspective of the idols. The iPhone girl said "I exist for you, I'll show you what you want and sing for you" because kpop idols are forced and obligated to satisfy the fans and the pressure also stressed them out that they also mix reality with fantasy which is why the members in the music video acts weird because they are acting like what their fans tell them. In the ending a member reminded the group that they are NewJeans and that they are filming a music video because all the members seemed lost in their own worlds.
tbh new jeans is under an incredible production team, not just the girls are talented, but the whole production team is amazing. It's definitely new generation of kpop. Idol might be a culture, but when music turns into form of art, they aren't just idol, they are artists✨

according to their director, it's about the relationship between kpop fans and the idols. Like the parasocial relationship teens have with them. Personally when i first saw the videos i thought that it was about a girl who lost all her firends and that she was coping by imagining them in her head. All in all, amazing concept
The 6th girl in Ditto is the actress Park Ji-hu who starred in the hit Netflix high school Zombie series 'All Of Us Are Dead' a bit over a year ago. The MV never showed her face but several people (including me) thought 'Hey, I know that girl!'

the history in mvs can be so confuse, but the group have a history for each mv and era, and everything connects, new jeans have 5 members, Minji (18 years old) Hanni(18 years old) Danielle (18 years old) Haerin (16 years old) and Hyein (15 years old), they are a group KOREAN, debuted in 2022 with the song "Attention" or "Cookie" idk, you can watch attention, cookie, hurt, hype boy. is from the first album of the group.

@@Gunjou_LR In Ditto, nothing has been confirmed but the popular opinion is that this portrays the Idol / Fan relationship and the parasocial nature of it. Heesoo (the girl with the camera) is always watching them through the camera because that is how Fans always see their Idols, on television, or through videos on their phone. She drops the camera when she realizes that she isn't paying attention to the world outside of her Idols. She grows out of the obsession and ends up going out with the boy she likes. The very end is her older self reminiscing about past memories and a reminder to fans that Idols will always be there, you don't have to devote your life to them to be fans.
Also wanted to say, I very much enjoy your reactions. I'm a Blink so would love some more Blackpink, but really looking forward to anything you decide to react to. Recommendations outside of YG: Le Sserafim just dropped an album. Title track Unforgiven is a great time. (They are under the same main label as New Jeans) Outside of Hybe, XG is a Japanese group who promotes in Korea and so far sings/raps in all English, any of their songs are great (so far only 4 released.) Soloist that I would recommend are Sunmi, Jeon Somi, and BIBI. I'm relatively new to all this stuff as well, been enjoying my own journey into the world of KPop for a little less than a year now.
a little back story of what you are getting yourself into...
New Jeans is a new group which released one mini album before Ditto and OMG was released.
So up until this point, there was no name for the fandom, until day 100 or 3 months later, they gave the fandom a name.
Bunnies.
So you should try and watch and understand from this point watching Ditto first. (A & B) then OMG.
both these songs in my opinion introduce Bunnies or Bun Hee Soo ( Hee Soo) which is the girl who is behind the video camera
I dont want to spoil your interpretation much, as If I try to explain, someone will always have a different idea than mine.
But I do believe this is the basic background info for this current 2 song release.
I will only give you this much, One theory, is something awful happened in the past (someone passes away?) and she is trying to remember her past.
or Bun Hee Soo is a Bunnies, and just a Kpop fan, and can only see New Jeans through the screen. But in OMG, they go to a mental hospital, and she is sitting in the back chairs by the doors in the shadows towards the middle of the MV, still watching New Jeans go through therapy sessions. and Hanni is the Cell Phone living her KPOP life for Bunnies, she is trying to call Bun Hee Soo, but she will not answer the phone, in Ditto and OMG. I hope this helps you out. there is so much to these MVs.
The MV were all tied together, in a round about way. and even Bun Hee Soo character, they created a TH-cam page of her name with all the footage she shot during Ditto. Kind of making her a vital part of the whole scene. it is really creative and I love this outside the box thinking as I have never seen MV made this way with so much fore-thought.

I really like you commenting about the song after the video, and then interpreting the music video👍👍 it's easy to concentrate.
My interpretation of Ditto is that in Side A the protagonist lives her entire life looking through the screen of her device (living vicariously through her idols) that she loses sight of what's real and ends up alone. In Side B she breaks the camera and experiences reality and ends up with the boy.
Fun moment, in TH-cam you can search a video clip which 6th girl shooting, and she shooting an "omg" by Heesoo
Sorry to disagree (that there is no "True" meaning), but there is a very strong and clear and intentional meaning in all of these MV's by NewJeans and their producers. OMG is a huge meta statement about the parasocial potentially toxic relationship between Kpop Idols and their fans, but from the Kpop Idol perspective. Ditto is about the same parasocial relationship, but from the fan perspective. You can see that the 2 mv's are related from the Ditto video clips shown on the OMG video (Ditto came out first and you were meant to see Ditto before OMG). In OMG NewJeans members are being treated after having mental breakdowns from being Kpop Idols. Hanni (as Siri/Steve Jobs with round glasses, black t-shirt and jeans and sneakers) is crying for help, saying that she has lost her sense of self, that she only exists for her fans and to fulfil the needs of those fans (like Kpop idols are want to do, not just iPhones). Harein thinks she is a cat, becoming what her fandom thinks about her in real life (that she is the living embodiment of a cat). Harein is seen nibling on cat food. Heyein is the member with the most entertainment industry experience, having been a busy child actress and here she is lost in the fairytale of one of her early roles (being lost in how her fans think of her). Minji is the Unnie (the actual oldest member who has a clear role to play in any Kpop Idol group), trying to take care of her members and bringing them to be treated (fulfilling the Unnie role that her fans expect from her). Note that at one point in the video, she stands over HERSELF, and brings herself into the ambulance, and obviously needs treatment too as she has also lost her sense of self and is lost in her fan created role. Only Danielle can remember that they are members of NewJeans, but she is institutionalized too, suffering mental issues, but not to the point of losing her memories. In contrast Ditto speaks about the good and bad aspects of being immersed in a Kpop group fandom. The good is that it can help you cope with a bad situation currently being experienced. The girl behind the camera (representing fans) had a cast, possibly from a car accident where she may have lost her parents (never shown), but nevertheless trying to cope with a traumatic experience. She was comforted by imagining her favorite Kpop group members surrounding her with loving companionship. But eventually she had to face reality in order to move on (broke her camera, moved from her imaginary relationship with her Kpop Idols to a real relationship with the Boy). Years later she put in the VHS, and all the happy memories (about how her Kpop group gave her a sense of loving support to help her cope with a traumatic situation) came rushing back. The downside is that if you stay in that imaginary world, your real world will be in ruins as you lose sight of your own necessary personal growth and the needed transition to adulthood with all the associated responsibilities that come with that.

Earlier on in the video its quick shot but she is seen watching white noise on the tv... imo this is probably the same at the end but what she sees on the tv is just her imagining the images but its still white noise... also we see her imagining them walking into the room which they obviously arent really.. its just all in her mind

(tw: poor english) i think the 6th girl represents us (fans) and she always watch and support newjeans. and the scene where she watches the old videos of newjeans maybe that was us (fans) remembering the good old days where they just debuted and started their careers. and in the scene where she drops the camera maybe she just can't accept the fact that newjeans will not stay as a kpop idols forever (in the future they will have their own life and live as a normal happy people) that would be really hard for us kpop fans watching our idols end their contract.
and i think the song ditto means that newjeans is not just an idols but they can also be our friend and family. it's like they can be anything.

and also i have a theory for the story in the music video.
what if newjeans are students who already di.ed and the girl saw a camera and tried to use it but ended up seing the girls. and she's only able to talk to the girls through the camera that's why she keep on filming and then the guy who keep on looking at her is concerned because everyone thinks that's she's crazy. but maybe she's in denial but then later on she realized that it is ruining her mental health and tried to destroy the camera in order to forget and free the souls but ended up being haunted. and maybe she keeps on blaming herself that it's her fault because she couldn't help the ghosts but little did she know that the girls understand her situation and then they send her the message using the deer (i saw someone commented on the other video that the deer means new hope and new beginning)
maybe the girld tried to tell her that it's okay for her to forget them and go on with her life with new beginning without being guilty for not being able to help. and maybe she missed the girls and the memories that she shared with them and tried to watch the old videos that she filmed and it brings her back to the old times where she was hanging out with them
