I live 20km south of Darwin. I'd been here for a year when this happened. I can't remember much about it now, but watching the video brought it back. The 'stalking' behaviour of the croc was a talking point because it was so unusual.
A few years later a woman I used to work with was out crabbing with her Dad and their boat started taking on water and sinking. They had to swim into the mangroves and climb a tree. They were only stuck for four hours and didn't encounter any crocs.
The only truly safe place to swim in the Top End is in a swimming pool.
A friend's parents live on a block on the Finniss. You stay a good safe distance from the water and make sure the dogs never get out of the fenced yard!
Thanks Dar, I haven't seen this for years! An amazing story on many levels, inspiring in relation to true friendship, loss of innocence, real survival! Darwin vegetation is similar to that of the Everglades, but it's hotter! 🤔

Ozzie's know all rivers in northern Australia are full of crocs up to 20 feet long. US tourists get caught because they assume crocs are like gators. Gators do not usually directly hunt humans, crocs do, all the time.
You should react to the latest video of “the inspired unemployed”. They took hits from Dylan Napa and Angus Crichton, two players who played for NSW and AUS. The video truly depicts the strength of these nrl players.
One of my best mates got killed by 2 crocs last year. It devastated us . Watch Rouge!

What an ordeal! Terrible true story for ya Dar... 2 German sisters travelled to Bali and unfortunately were victims of the Bali terrorist blasts and survived. Traumatised by the bomb attacks there, they decided to go to Darwin to escape and recover. They both went swimming one day to enjoy the natural beauty, and one of the sisters got taken by a croc witnessed by the other sister. Out of the fire, into the unexpected flame, terrible fate.
