I've had several mk2 Astras and Mk4 Astras but never a mk3. Nice video showing the ups and downs of working on cars. Got me looking on ebay at mk3's now lol
its been a great car since i filmed this, took over daily driver duty for 2 months while my Passat was off the road, didn't skip a beat. Just wish it wasn't so rusty lol.
Hahaha I’m still at the beginning of the video but that’s a great unt mug with the handle that is in black that looks strikingly like a C hmmm that’s me all over I think 🤔😂. I done the timing belt on my Cavalier MK3 I never used a cam locking tool but it’s for certain makes things a lot easier, I still enjoyed replaying nonetheless. Edit the electric coolant pump you referred to is actually the secondary air injection system, there is a fan that blows air into the exhaust manifold this is to light the catalytic converter quicker, the silver metal disk looking thing on the top is just a non return valve, so when the ECU commands the fan off exhaust gases can’t make it back into the fan and melting it. Hope this helps. Great video, I enjoyed watching it. Cheers. Steve.
sorry for the late reply! yea I think the mug suits me too hence it being given to me as a christmas present lol. and thanks for the info on the secondary air injection system! now it makes perfect sense! really interesting that it has that. thanks for your kind comment
