What do you think would happen if someone bought liquids at one of the Duty Free shops at the Cancun airport? Do you think they would let them bring it through the rechecking in? What a bad system!
If you buy a liquid at the airport, you’ll have to put it in your checked luggage before rechecking it. I’ve had to do this with vanilla I purchased at the Cancun airport.
