    Can you explain how cooling works? Can I have hot water at the same time as cooling the air in the house? I guess I would have to rely on stored hot water and alternate between them?

    • @EnertechGlobal

      We cannot do domestic hot water and hydronic heating or cooling at the same time. When commissioning the unit, priority settings will be made, and you will choose what will run when you have multiple heating or cooling calls. Usually, domestic hot water will be a priority and will run whenever there is a call for domestic hot water. With the Advantage heat pump, it does not "store" hot water so it will shut the cooling call off when domestic hot water calls and will turn the cooling back on when the domestic hot water call is complete.

    How does it run the defrost cycle? Does it require any resistive coil to create defrost heat (including when it's connected to a forced air handler)? Or does it do all its defrosting using the fluid's built-up heat?

    • @EnertechGlobal
      @EnertechGlobal  ปีที่แล้ว

      The unit has two types of defrost, passive and active.
      Passive Defrost runs when outdoor temperatures are above 39F, and the compressor is not operating, but the air coil temperature indicates that defrost is necessary. In this mode, the reversing valve does not shift, and the fan runs at high speed in order to increase coil temperature with the outdoor air temperature. If there is a compressor demand, passive defrost stops, and the compressor starts.
      The second defrost mode, Active Defrost, begins when the air coil temperature falls below 27F. In this mode, the reversing valve shifts to cooling mode, the fan stops, and the compressor continues to run until the coil temperature reaches 37.4F or the discharge gas temperature reaches 140F. This mode continues for 90 seconds once either temperature is reached.
      While in Active Defrost mode, if the water between the indoor module and outdoor unit drops below 58F, electric heat will be used. This electric heat will turn off once the water temperature reaches above 63F

    So does this system heat your home while also heating your water? Or cool your home and heat your water?
    Do this system come with a storage tank for water that you can distribute throughout your home?

    • @EnertechGlobal
      @EnertechGlobal  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      This system heats, cools your home, and provides hot water. All 3 in 1 system. It does not come with a storage tank.

    Does the internal unit need a drain for condensation? I would like to make our design compatible with this since we are still in the planning stage. This tech looks like it could *almost* reduce redundancy of a fridge compressor system too, at some point.

    • @EnertechGlobal
      @EnertechGlobal  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, thank you for your question. No, you do not need a condensate drain on the Indoor module.

    • @ezdeezytube
      @ezdeezytube ปีที่แล้ว

      @@EnertechGlobal Thank you! I download the spec sheet and it looks like only the outdoor unit needs a drain. Question - does this supply hot water to an external water tank at the same time it supplies cold water to the hydronic air handler? I'm reviewing the diagrams and don't see how it can do both simultaneously.

    • @EnertechGlobal
      @EnertechGlobal  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ezdeezytube No, it only does heating, cooling, or hot water. None at the same time.

    I believe this is the way it is going to go. The simple fact that it is factory charged and sealed eliminates alot of headaches. The problem is many of the hot water systems will need to be expanded because of the lower water temps. There are so many advantages to hot water.

    What size Solar Pv System will you need to run this air to water system?

    • @EnertechGlobal
      @EnertechGlobal  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Sean! Sizing of a solar PV array is highly dependent on many factors. Ground/roof position, total kWh load of the home, annual sun coverage, etc... However, most homeowners find that they need to install a much smaller solar PV system when they go with the Advantage as opposed to a traditional HVAC solution or even a modern air-to-air heat pump due to the efficiencies of the Advantage.

      Its usually going to be circulating refrigerant.

    • @GuyOnYouTube
      @GuyOnYouTube 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You would think they circulate refrigerant between outdoor and indoor unit for this reason, but in the video he clearly says no refrigerant and water.
      If so, definitely not designed for cold climates, but then also mind boggling dumb decision as even warmer climates get cold snaps. I assume he mid spoke and it uses some type of anti freeze solution given they advertise it operates down to -13 F

      @@GuyOnTH-cam it's possible that it's circulating a glycol mix through a heat exchanger coil located in the indirect tank. Or the whole system is glycol of not used for domestic water. Who knows
