- Get a glimpse of 27 minutes of gameplay from the Resident Evil Village Demo, which showcases combat, crafting, exploration and more in the Village area. We fight off lycans and make our way through the village in the latest demo on the PlayStation 5. The next demo on April 24th, will allow you to check out the castle area. Here you'll most likely run into Lady Dimitrescu and her three daughters. You'll have from 5pm PDT to 1am PDT to try out the demo.

"Why is everyone dying on me!", I believe Ethan is starting to experience the same horrors that Leon, Jill, Claire and especially Chris had gone through.
It is sad that Ethan is becoming one of the group to experience real shit. But to be fair; his reasoning to say that quote isn't has impactful as the OGs since they actually had live through an outbreak that could had killed them if they weren't looking. Ethan though all he did was looked for his wife and had to fight against a family with no type of fighting experience.

Got me laughing, dude lives in a world where Raccoon City became the city of the dead, Kijuju Affrica was infected with mind controlling parasites, TerraGrieca got nuked because of Hunters, Tall Oaks, a city in some scandanavian country plus China got hit with the C Virus and my boy here questions how is it that he finds himself once again in the world of survival horror

I mean, tbh a virus that makes you grow extreme amounts of hair, grow longer nails and teeth and makes you more aggressive/provides strength. And discolors your eyes is actually pretty realistic compared to most of the other viruses in the series.

Honestly I think that's the most emotion I've felt from watching people get killed that were only introduced minutes ago. Not sure what elements made it work but still this game just looks great.

I think it's the way the game puts you in Ethan's shoes. You can see and feel just how Ethan felt, the way he tried to save Elena, but when she fell, he felt guilt and sadness over the fact he couldn't save her...that emotion is past into the player as you might see yourself as Ethan (especially given how ordinary he is) so you can understand his struggle there.

This is Resident Evil brah, there’s probably more to these characters than what meets the eye. Jack Baker in RE7 was a seemingly normal person too until you realize that he can regenerate damaged/missing body parts (including a self inflicted gunshot wound straight to the head which blows off like half of his skull) and eventually turns into a giant blob that no longer resembles a human.

Not a single one of the RE games have good gunplay..... They're deliberately slow and inaccurate to create immersion.

@@Giliver that's not true at all. The gunplay was actually pretty solid in 4, and decent in RE2 remake (haven't played 3 remake yet).
But both 7 and 8 have really awful recoil control and sluggish aim. It's fitting I guess given Ethan's not trained.

For anyone wanting to know, played and finished the demo on ps4. It played great and very smooth, looked very good too. Everyone enjoy the game when it comes out.
It was 30 frames per second so I wouldn't call it that smooth but it seemed like a solid 30 frames per second. Probably going to be 60 FPS on next gen. And higher resolution so it's going to be dope. I can't wait. If it looked that good on my PS4 slim, it's going to look amazing on my series x. Capcom did an amazing job on this one.

The first person makes actually wonders for this game. IT is so immersive, so good to look at through your own eyes. And I especially like the fact how they paid attention to detail like scaling the buildings around you to be 1:1 (I found out during MW2019 development video that most developers scale buildings to be by one third bigger than real life to make it easier for player to navigate through), and it just.. looks breath taking honestly. I am glad for remakes and old school third person REs existing, but I am happy to play the series with this new immersive view. Brings the horror to next level.

Man I cannot wait to see what this is all about. It's really interesting especially how the Villagers mention Mother Miranda being a savior at one point who protected the Village people then ended up becoming this evil, demented being. This is looking great can't wait to play.
My guess has to why she goes from a motherly figure that was once protecting and caring for the village to a demented being / villain will be explained through the game. I have a stinking feeling this has something to do with another virus created by Umbrella. Umbrella has something to do with it for sure.
Miranda and the vampire lady might even be tyrants or some other type of mutation we don't know about.
I think that this 'Mother Miranda'we see in game isn't the 'real' Mother Miranda. She's an imposter who has dressed herself up to fool the fairly simple and devout villagers.

We have never actually seen Mother Miranda besides that one part of the demo where Ethan sees her killing someone in the overgrowth. All we see is her hat. We HAVE seen Mother Miranda, we had a concept art piece depicting a woman in a mask, which is most likely her. She's in the centre of that scene from the 4th trailer, when Heisenberg says "Lycans and gentlemen." Right before he swings his hammer round. And most of all...SHE'S IN THIS VERY DEMO right at the end, she's the one who stabs Lulian then walks away into the fields. (I know you pointed this out already...but Lulian LITERALLY calls out "stop, mother miranda!" As he dies and no other person in the game we've seen looks like her.)

Secondly, Mother Miranda and Dimitrescu are NOT the same person. Alcina answers a call from her in one of the trailers and informs her that Ethan has escaped from Heisenberg.

The actor for Elenas father is doing a good job, some decent voice acting... seems way more evolved than anything from previous games, also loving the resident evil 4 vibes.

@@kyxhk yep it didn't look military training because Ethan wasn't obviously into that shit. He didn't sign up on anything like it unlike Chris, Leon, Jill... Maybe Chris really just trained him to defend himself since he had inevitably entered the world of bio terrorism.
So I've got to be honest, and I'm curious if others feel this way, but playing this demo really felt off. And I don't think it's the result of it being a demo. Maybe it's because capcom doesn't make FPS's often, but I don't think this gameplay, shooting, movement, or clue-finding matched well at all with the perspective. The levels and rooms felt very linear, and I could hardly take in the setting with my field of view so restricted. The fight in the wheat field looked terrible, though in concept it could have worked. The werewolves aren't scary apart from the jump scares they successfully pull off since they're so fast, but they act like mo-cap actors pretending to be monkeys. It's not a scary game, nor does it feel very good to play, and I'm bummed. I was excited for it, but now I feel like I'm going to be really disappointed. I love this series (I never played 7), but I don't love the direction they're going with it.

At first, I thought Lady Dimitrescu was Mother Miranda.
Then, when I saw she was talking to Mother Miranda on the phone, I was sure the Baba Yaga looking witch lady was Mother Miranda.
So that's not her either? 🤔🤷
No, Mother Miranda is young-ish looking (but, obviously her real age is not known) woman with golden raven mask and black wings. She's the one who murders the guy near the end of the demo. She's the leader of the overall cult that everyone in the village and the four houses are part of. Lady Dimitrescu is head of one of the four houses and is subordinate to Mother Miranda.

Damm I really liked Elena. Was starting to think that she may become a more grounded character later in this story or future games but as soon as I thought that, she just fucking plummets.

Perhaps this is a taste of the resource management aspect of the early games, wherein the enemies all took a bunch of effort to put down in terms of time + ammo, making every encounter into a difficult choice of whether to engage and potentially waste bullets or try sneaking past and risk getting caught in a sub-optimal position should you fail. I noticed that the inventory system bears striking resemblance to that of RE4--and if I remember my time with that game correctly, desperation borne of deprivation is a FANTASTIC tool for creating atmospheric dread.
(Also he was using the low-caliber starting pistol for most of the time, plus was missing every third shot or so due to low visibility and not being used to enemy movement patterns. Might have had something to do with it.)
@@Gohodan097 This isn't the first Resident Evil game to have the issue of bullet sponge ruining immersion. Granted I can't say for sure since I'm only watching a short video rather than playing. Unfortunately, the reason doesn't actually matter if it ruins immersion for players (plus there are alternatives that don't ruin immersion). Without immersion a lot of these things they are going for like horror or dread are also ruined.

My biggest question is not how his daughter come to this village or why his wife is dead (probably she is dead I am not sure). My biggest question is who is Ethan? Because if I am not mistaken it seems to me that Chris Redfield has keep monitoring Ethan movements even after the event of RE7 I could be wrong.
Ethan the only RE7 survivor who can adapt with Evelyn infection. Ethan didnt get the mutation, just the healing ability. Why Chris gettin monitored on Ethan family, i think because they still have a part infection from Evelyn/ E-Type.
@@mgmharkels4598 that’s a good point and come to think about it there was a section at the beginning of the game where Ethan lost his leg but then Baker give Ethan some water (chemical) then his lag patch together at First Ethan didn’t understand what’s going on but after that I don’t think he mentioned anything about losing his leg to anyone

how did you guys like RT mode vs OFF? i sorta didnt mind 45fps that much but I could definitely notice, not as much as I usually would though. I wonder how it feels so smooth if its running at 45fps
It's probably a combination of a good motion blur solution and a stable frame pacing, even 30fps can feel smooth if it's handled correctly, I haven't trieed the game for myself but im really excited to get to play it on PC and see how it runs
I know that RT off is a native 4k 60. Is the RT mode also a native resolution or does it drop to 1440p? if anyone has that kind of information.
It felt almost like 60 FPS to me bet it will feel even better on series x since it has vrr which is also why I have it pre ordered on Xbox

Damn Capcom have been doing amazing man . This game looks gorgeous and yet I'm only watching it on my phone . 480p and still looks next gen while watching a compressed video . Can't wait till it's on my PS5 on a 4k tv . It's gonna look even better

I'm sorry, but First Person is definitely the way this series should be going forward, It just creates a better atmosphere. Like it should've been an option for the remakes.
