Part 2: • Sebastian Telfair on C...
--------
Sebastion Telfair, a New York basketball legend, had a candid conversation on VladTV about his unique upbringing and subsequent rise to basketball fame. Telfair grew up in Coney Island, Brooklyn, with both parents. His father, a Vietnam War veteran, struggled with PTSD following his service. Coming from a big family, Telfair clarified that he has fourteen siblings, not ten, that spans across his mother and father's relationships and includes notable names like Stephon Marbury (cousin). The star player also talked about growing up in New York during the nineties, which he described as rough, but said he didn't consider his childhood rough. Telfair began playing basketball at age 9 and quickly became a rising star, later going on to play in the NBA. - บันเทิง

AN THAT'S WHAT IT IS about Vlad
Let Vlad be Vlad !
@vladtv LMAO!!!
Say what you about Sebastian…..he is THE FIRST POINT GUARD EVER DRAFTED OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL. He set the trend for guys like Lou Williams, Monta Ellis, etc. He made mistakes like every person does in life…but he had a legendary high school career and lasted 10 years in the NBA. Not bad for a Coney Island kid. Salute 🫡.
And he shouldn’t have been drafted im saying that now in hindsight dude wasn’t good lol he was small and couldn’t shoot Lou Williams said him and monta went to the League cause they said if he got drafted we definitely can get drafted
@@bravey456he was another overrated NYC PG that can’t shoot only can dribble…he got exposed by Shaun Livingston
@@phillybul215 Livingston hoed him bassy had the worst career of those that made the league in that loaded 2004 class
@@bravey456nah he wasn't good he was phenomenal. This dude won MVP at ABCD camp in 8th grade. I personally think his biggest mistake was not going to Louisville. With all the mistakes and issues he still had a ten year career and was able to show flashes of the dominant guard he should've been in the league.
He didn't set no trend by being drafted.....the GM that drafted him set the trend.
New York City legend!! I appreciate the grey brim true New Yorker shit! Glad to him alive and well
Watched Through The Fire documentary on espn while we was in high school. Was really rooting for him to do good in the league
Alot of us were.
Through the Fire is one of the best documentaries I ever watched in life!!!! Had me running the stairs to get in shape lol
Mane I remember this dude I watched his career for a Long time! When I was kid he was my motivation for wanting to play in the NBA he never reached his full potential and that kinda hurted a lil bit but shouts out to the brother tho man he most definitely made history 💯💯💪🏽
He didn’t reach his full potential and I think it’s more difficult than people realize at that NBA level. Hope he’s doing well.
Me and son from the same hood. We had classes together. Ate blts together lol. This is big for Abraham Lincoln HS & Coney Island. Shoutout Big Brooklyn.
Lincoln stand up !!

Facts that documentary was special 👌🏼
“Give me 31 that’s my block” at 10 years old that kid was already as solid as they come.
He’s matured a lot since he was on breakfast club before jail. Glad to see it.

BASSY HAD PRIME JAY-Z ATTENDING HIS HIGH SCHOOL BASEKTBALL GAMES. BEFORE IT WAS COOL TO BE AT HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL GAMES
Big fan of this dude, had huge game in a small frame. Wild story, glad to see him out and hope he’s using this story to motivate the youth.
I always like Sebastian Telfair as an athlete he’s seems like a genuine person. I’m sorry to hear about his mother and his brother passing a few years ago R.I.P. To them 🙏🏾
Which brother? Was it the one in the documentary who was his assistant coach?
He played 11 in the NBA and an additional 4 overseas. That’s not a bad career he built some generational wealth for his bloodline and that’s what it’s about… he is a success because of that.
Exactly! Very few are repeat all stars. He had full career and built generational wealth as you said. Props to him. More to life. Very successful
Vlad aint 💩 as a person, but damn he gets some great interviews that you didn’t even think of but realize you needed this whole time.

The government never took care of him just like many others who went through that same thing
Unfortunately, they are finally taking care of Vietnam Vets with the PACT ACT.

Basi was and still is a legend in Brooklyn, stand up!
Dude life can be a movie. Frfr
i remember him and this interview is captivating. cant stop watching it... he had the ball on a string like nobody else but i feel like he was in the middle of a lot of NYC chatter and noise thats why he never reached his full potential. But for where he started from to where he made it to was/is a major accomplishment.

I forgot the year, was right when he was making noise on the league and signing that big money, i ran into this guy in queens and bk multiple times in that year. Qns blvd, kings plaza, etc. the last time we saw each other that year, we were walking down the street towards each other. We looked at each other and just laughed and head nod. It was like how in the world do we keep walking by each other so often as big as ny is 🤣
had to be weird lol
