--------
Aries Spears and Vlad discussed the level of acceptance and impact of White rappers, such as Vanilla Ice and Eminem, within the Black community during the early stages of their careers. The question was posed to compare Vanilla Ice's "Ice, Ice Baby," and Eminem's "My Name Is." Aries felt that initially, Vanilla Ice was more accepted due to his memorable sound and the ability to cater to Black audiences. However, Aries pointed out that many in the Black community questioned Vanilla Ice's authenticity, viewing him as something of a cartoon character. Conversely, Eminem was seen as authentic and deeply rooted in the culture of rap despite being a "White boy." In addition, Vlad noted Vanilla Ice's international impact, being the first rapper to tour extensively worldwide. - บันเทิง
Don't forget about Jump around by House of pain😂.
HELL YEAH!! I FORGOT ABOUT THAT ONE.
Oh god lol. I had a boxing coach that was white and he'd play that dumb ass album everyday in the gym.
The Pete Rock Remix is the Black version.
The ultimate fratboy, rugby house, keg party song.
And "Jump, Jump" by Kris Kross, though I think it was white kids who love Kriss Kross.....
White people also love “hey ya “ by Andre 3000…I’ve been in clubs when that song came on and see them go crazy.
😂😂😂😂
What better song to do the Carlton Banks aka white guy dance to. lol
😂😂😂
Man they love usher lover and friends & yea
@@mustanggang5.0You need to meet more of us then cause no tf we don’t
Bon Jovi's "Livin' On A Prayer" will have white folks going crazy. They sing "Whoooooooaaaa! Livin' on a Prayer" with every ounce of their soul.
Yes YOU DO or they do lol. I learned about that when I went to a bar lounge many years ago.
Journey “don’t stop believing”
He’s too right about that one 😂 when they all start terribly singing you don’t wanna be in that bar no lord tho idc what snow bunnies in there
I'm black and I love both Journey's and Bon Jovi's songs…🤷🏽♀️ they're inspirational. Get some inspiration in y'all lives. Maybe you'd get out of y’all mommas house and make it in life
Why shaking there right hand than pointing
Sweet Caroline is huge for them!
This list is on point but when Lose Yourself by Em comes on you know what time it is. I don't even wanna be in the same vicinity.
Biggest hiphop song of all time
Yeah to them@@everybodywannabelikemike_
I agree on "lose yourself"
nah@@everybodywannabelikemike_
Do people really like mom's spaghetti? really?
House Of Pain Jump Around gets the crowd going.
Sweet Caroline has me in tears😂
I fuccn hate that song
“Hey ya” by andre 3000 and “i like the way you move” by outkast. I like the way you move is like an anthem at white weddings 😂
i legit wanna see white people dancing to 'i like the way you move'. show me the footage gawdammit!
What’s funny is I use to assign girls songs when we… messed around. Like that was my code.
One white girl i was messing with, I gave that song, “I Like The Way You Move,” because she got a big butt. lol. Don’t ask me why, but that song fit her perfectly.
As a white guy, I can confirm what Aries saying lmao. Sweet Caroline our battle cry 😂
As a white guy, I hate that song. It's terrible.
Y’all love Sweet Home Alabama too
@@nadecha5326That's moreso the anthem for southern whites.
Don't forget Brass Monkey, a Will Smith song, one of Nelly's radio songs, Get Low from Lil John lol.
@nadecha5326 Anytime I hear that song I think of 8 mile.
I thought it was “All Star” by Smash Mouth
He forgot Gangstas Paradise. But to be fair, that record was never cheesy/ corny and has aged gracefully
Yep true.Especially small town
white people and white wanna be
gangsters love the hell out of
Gangsters paradise..
thought same song. great minds think alikre.
Weird Al somehow play a factor into it
As a white man in Scotland I can confirm we love gangsters paradise 😂
@@ian_corbett I didn't even know
you people in Scotland knew what
hip hop is?.
I’m black but that "don’t stop believing” is a hit 😂😂😂
yeah I was a journey, Styx, and Foreigner fan back in the day. When I was in school, MTV didn't play nothing Black but Michael Jackson, so I took what they gave me..
or that other song.... I don't want to loose your love tonight...........
Young MC "Bust A Move" and Tone Loc's "Wild Thing" were songs featured in the Doogie Howser M.D. show back in the 80s/90s. Classic songs!
Das EFX “They Want EFX” album version and remix were both serious hits for their time as well, I remember Brian Austin Green rapping it on Beverly Hills 90210 lol….
It is interesting all the songs Aries listed were from damn near the same year, definitely at least the same era
rest up to Young MC
Even more interesting (to my dumbass) if you google Young MC, the artists it lists in “People Also Search For” are Tone Loc, Vanilla Ice, and MC Hammer 😂
can’t be a coincidence
@@datniggaeazye.5968 I don't know if y'all just be doing this for attention or what but if you just mistakenly didn't know, Young MC ain't dead.
Ante Up is the hypest track in history. Everyone loses their shit when that drops
Especially that remix with Busta and Remy Ma
Yup remix all day @@DemomanX614
It's a close one between Ante Up and Ruff Ryders Anthem.
cold as ice is up there as well by m.o.p.
Ante up was special from the urban/hood perspective!! Absolutely!! But, the average white population didn't know that hit hip-hop classic!!
Aries over talking vlad touched my soul 😂😂
Right... Aries 1 Vlad 380
That's a sign that you are too personally invested geesh lol
@@billycarter1798 Naw Vlad just be pissing me off doing that😂
Don't forget "Party up" from DMX. White folks go crazy over that one too. 😂😂
Big facts!
FACTS!!!
super facts, my white friends love that damn song
More specifically, white women. I've said this for years 😂
Im confident saying white people love DMX in general. When I was a kid, and this is in Australia, he was easy the most listened to by most kids I knew. Had that heavy metal vibe

You forgot to pin this comment I got you
Sorry vlad dam
They also love -
Just A Friend Biz Markie
Shaggy- It Wasn’t Me
Don’t forget Who Am I by Beenie man they love that especially over here in the UK
Yeah you right about "The Biz" RIP Biz Markie.....
Another one is “Return of The Mac”✊🏻😎
He forgot lil Jon and usher “yeah”
🤣 that's true. White girls lose their mind when that comes on
"Brass Monkey", by the Beastie Boys, was the one us Black dudes was jamming at the house/apartment parties back in College. It was time to start drinking hard when we heard that.
I'd argue that in terms of impact, House of Pain's "Jump Around" had just as big of an impact with Black people as Ice Ice Baby
I thought for sure they would mention it
that is a way better record way better biggie mentions this song a couple times
Here's a HUGE one Aries missed: House of Pain "Jump Around". White ppl go CRAAAAZZZYYY when that joint comes on!
This was the comment I was looking for!! 😂lol
Yes Sir!
Facts! I always hear that song in the stadiums 😂😂
Aries is 100% on point with his list
Wrong he forgot jump around
He’s not on point, 50 year old women may like those songs which is probably the same demographic he goes slumming for.. black rappers do the same schtick as vanilla ice.. ask katt
@@JJdeluxeCSU you right it’s an old list
You gotta add in da club by 50, window to the wall by lil John, and yeah by usher
I was dropping off a catering order at a party that was going on at a country club about a year ago and all the white people were going crazy when that Lil Jon-Get Low came on 😂
That’s just a classic down south turn up track period now… 😂
I was visiting a lily white nursing home in Rhode Island throwing a BBQ and the old folks went crazy for when DJ played 2 Live Crew/Luke's DooDoo Brown!
Ushers "Yeah" is another one that makes all kinds folks go crazy. Lil John's Intro is just 🔥
Jump Around. House Of Pain. Jump, Kris Kross. They love those too
Tone loc is a weird case of something that could not happen today. From what i understand he was a street guy that's most famous songs were super pop/rock cross -over tracks. His background was actually downplayed. Its crazy to remember a time where having street credibility was considered negative and not used to promote a rapper. Its really crazy to think about
Play from Kid n Play, same thing. Hell, look at Lupe. He a for real, for real gangster and just never chose to go out of his way to push that image….
yea thats wild af when u think bout it. look at mc hammer goofy ass character but dude was gangsta af
@@dawb86 yeah artist development used to include polishing an artist's image. Lupe was a street guy as well and has said so. Luckily his first album came out in his mid twenties cuz if it came out when he was 19 who knows what he woulda been saying.
@@dawb86MC Hammer too lol
@@nvm7191a real gangsta right there
Lose urself is def on there, along with “I’m not afraid, to take a stand…everybody, come take my hand.”
He forgot Montell Jordan. "This Is How We Do It."
That song is universal for turning up
House of Pain - Jump Around! White cats go crazy on that one too
Rap Songs White Folks Go Crazy For
1 Lose Yourself - Eminem
2 Changes - 2Pac
3 Nuthin’ But A G Thang - Dr Dre
Rob Base and EZ Rock, It Takes 2 right up there with Tone Loc and Young MC
I love Journey Don’t Stop Believing. Black people like that song as well.
BLACK PEOPLE LOVE JOURNEY PERIOD!!!
That list is a fiya throwback thursday mix tho:
Sir Mix Alot - Baby Got Back
Tone Loc - Wild Thing
Tone Loc - Funky Cold Medina
Young MC - Bust A Move
Salt - N - Pepa - Push It
MC Hammer - U Can't Touch This
Vanilla Ice - Ice Ice Baby
Marky Mark - Good Vibrations
Beastie Boys - Brass Monkey
Run DMC - Walk This Way
Run DMC - It's Tricky
JJ Fad - Supersonic
LL Cool J - Going Back To Cali
House of Pain - Jump Around
I seriously miss quality music. *painful sigh*
Nelly - ride with me.
Nelly; it’s getting hot in here
Missing jump around by house of pain or Cypress hill insane in the membrane
Rob Bass it takes 2
Don’t forget rob bass “ it takes 2”
DMX - Party Up. It never fails. Ever. When that shxt came on in “Gone In 60 Seconds,” the movie theater WENT UP
In Canada ppl bump still DRE and California love to the point of naseum
Disagree. People didnt fk with Vanilla Ice because of MC Hammer. The machine forced Vanilla Ice on us through radio. Dre made people anticipate Em. And knowing he was killing rappers on the battle circuit.
100% agree wit u
Facts
Because of MC Hammer??? Where did he say that?
@@UnderwaterShadow i think i worded it wrong. Meant that people wasnt fkn with Vanilla Ice because it seemed like he was biting MC Hammer style and biting was a no no back in the day. I disagree with Aries implying that Ice was accepted more. It was 10x worse that a white rapper was biting. In California, we wasn't fkn with Vanilla Ice like that. Maybe little kids and dance groups because of the catchy tune. But Em got way more legit love out the gate than Ice. 'My Name Is' wasnt the best debut, but at the time, Aftermath name alone helped tremendously.
@stronginthewind vanilla ice, eminem, beastie boys all sold like crazy. And there's a reason for it lol.
Haha thought he was gonie say sweeeeet home alabama 😂
Facts about Sweet Caroline. It's even on a commercial. 😂 Also the "pour some sugar on me" song.
It was funny when Dave Chappelle said at the BET awards that the Brotha of the year goes to “Eminem” hahaha
Haha😂. That's so funny.
lol Vlad really trying to get someone to say Vanilla 😂
Man😂
Arie is really the only person ive heard put cadence in a sentence and he do it alot, nice use of vocab
Aries looking like “where are we going with this conversation?” 😂 let me make this make sense to me
Vlad keep asking the wrong question. People never accepted Vanilla Ice the person we accepted the song. Eminem came out with a song as well as multiple freestyles and features all in a short time span we accepted him not just the song. I couldn’t even tell you the name of Vanilla Ice album So it’s really no comparison.
Ice had a hot album BECAUSE of that hot song. My Name Is was cool but Slim Shady LP and ESPECIALLY Marshall Mathers LP are classic albums from that era of hip hop. If people want to question his other projects fine but I don’t think MMLP can be disputed as Em’s (and one of hip hop’s) great masterpieces….
lol the actual name of his album was even more corny than his songs & videos.
“To The EXTREME!!!”
Plus no straight up black person would never ever rep any artist (black or especially white) with the name Vanilla…! And the name Milli Vanilli was too too close also.
Feminem wack shit definitely for white people we don't play his rubbish.
I think everybody loses their mind when they hear in tha club by 50 Cent you could have put that in there to Aries, but I respect your list!🔥
Add Hot in Herre to that list.
It's like a weaker version of E.I.
E.I. is a car bass banger! 🎶🎶🚘🎶🎶 UH OHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
@@franklin8618WHATS POPPIN TONIGHT
Queen was the 1st with "We Will Rock You" and then Billy Squier "Big Beat.".....That Journey was fire and so was Living On A Prayer
Best take on this topic
Vanilla Ice wasn’t respected when he debuted in hip hop. Remember, at that time in the early 90s, Ice was a MTV pop darling. When the Fresh Prince of Bel Air was on and active at the time, in an episode in 91’ Will Smith dissed him. Ice was dissed and lampooned on In Living Color. Arsenio Hall questioned Ice legitimacy. All this happened when “Ice, Ice Baby” was a hit on the radio. Eminem never had this problem. A lot of it also had to do with talent.
I remember a few people thinking Eminem was black when they first heard My Name Is.... how, I'll never know
I haven’t even watched this yet but I’m going to say one of them has to be sir mix a lot, I like big butts ( baby got back )
Eminem ended up having to make an entire movie to convince us black people that he's the real deal. That film certainly made a positive contribution to how I now see Eminem as an artist.
Bohemian Rhapsody is the one they go the most nuts over
Aries was 1000 on that false hustle evaluation. Men can always Sense when someone is not being real about the life that they normally or always live💯
Bro don't let the smoke fool u..... they're ALL industry plants!!! If u know u know!!!
Nobody was feeling Hi my name is......Aries is right. Now Em afterwards was a beast
MTV loved it. Eminem always puts out a gimmick song to bring attention and to his albums. “guess whose back” is another one.
Naw I hated that song, annoying beat and vocals. Only thing to appreciate was the rhyme capability of multi syllable words.
I heard "Hi My name is.." late night 98 coming back from my girl's house at the time. Had to be 2 or 3 in the morning. I didnt know what Em looked like, but that song set itself apart from everything else going on in hip hop at the time. And I was a real hip hop head. It was so different and dope at the same time. I knew it was a hit.
@@Boobalopbop finally someone gets it eminem used to make those songs as gimmicks to get people talking. his album sound nothin like his singles
They play that Quad City DJ's - C'Mon 'N Ride It(The Train) at EVERY wedding reception and they cut loose🤣🤣🤣🤣I almost forgot, not a hiphop cut but they hit that Dexy's Midnight Runners - Come On Eileen, too🤣🤣🤣🤣
Easy and a layup. How could you forget QUEEN!!! I had no idea years ago that they made the song 'We Rock You'. They love that shit. Another one is I can't remember the title, but the song was featured in a Wayne's World movie from a car ride scene 😅.
Pardon me, do you have any Grey Pou-Pon?
He forgot get low by Lil Jon and the Eastside boyz. They go crazy
I See Aries Spears, I Click. Simple! 😂
He really is simple
@@joeg1897gotta always have a hater lol
So much better than boosie
I'm not one of the dim witted "whites" that he hangs around🙂 I choose to like a song based on how I personally see things and I I see things in an indepth and insightful way so I don't "loke" my mind to anyone hip hop songs😎
@@joeg1897You are correct and I talked about this in my earlier comment on this thread😎 The people that call other "haters" for no good reason are as simple and as empty as Ariel Spears is🤮
Gotta add The Fresh Prince theme to the list.
2:47
The song he was looking for was
It Takes Two
Salt and Pepper's Shoop was pretty catchy back in the day as well and made them stars.
@donnyfever3374 don't have to I grew up in that era and was at the clubs.
As a white he touched our hearts with sweet Caroline. Get em Aries he knows his music always has 😂😂😂
I just don’t know why people will just decide to waste their time reading my comment when clearly I have nothing to say. And this person is still reading it.
is that the status quo song or is there another one?
@@TheMaestromMephisto there’s a bag of them we snow troopers love it. We be singing “feed the world” in July bro 😂
@@ExtremeDeathcoreCoversI loved it. You should write a book on this.
In addition to that list, Eminem's "Lose Yourself" 😭😭🤣🤣! I'm from Australia, cracks me up to see them do the Rocky to that song!
The list is 100% accurate, just need to add Kriss Kross "Jump"
You'll forgot about montel jordan this is how we do it
Spears is entertaining to listen to. Straight up ✌🏾
Aries forgot "This is how we do it" by Montell Jordan.. Menn o Menn, they go crazy!
I can feel it coming in the air tonight
I don’t know if this is true for anybody else but in the early 2010s white people in NC had “No Hands” by Waka Flocka and “John” by Lil Wayne in a chokehold 😂
Have you ever been in a white club when “I got a feeling that tonight “by Black Eye Peas? Pandemonium!!!
Vanilla Ice was the first 'white rapper' Cowboy who got the Arrows. Plain and simple. 💯
3:04 this is facts fr everytime like I’m at ah stadium or something and they play it bro that song makes them go crazy fr lmao 😂
In da club?
Golddigger-Kanye West
Yeah-Usher
To add to the list, this is how we do it by Montell Jordan, Pussy Control by Prince, Nelly's song(down down baby, forgot what it's called)
Country Grammar by Nelly
@PacmanCarter3 thanks,
@@jalennelson6008 ur welcome
Also missed Wang Chung…”Dance hall days”!!!
Vlad interview someone and ends up liking the person and then becomes a spokesman for them for years
he talked a lot of shit about ice but now that robert van winkle is rich vlad thinks he is cool.
Vanilla Ice was a joke…..but Ice ice Baby goes harder in the club than any Eminem song
Smack that is basically an Eminem song, shake that also
Andre 3000's Hey Ya you can put on that list too 🤣🤣🤣
The ending of the show was the best ❤,
DMX-Party Up
We were in India, didn't have Internet so didn't know any lyrics except "ice ice baby" from the song but were playing it in every party/club there was... Obviously, everyone loves Eminem here also but Ice Ice baby was insanely popular here in India!❤✔
“DMX - Party Up” for sure lol
We knew Eminem from battle rapping before My Name Is. That respect got him over till he dropped Marshall Mathers LP. And THEN he had his Classic HipHop Album that people could all stand behind.
Without watching imma say:
Jump around
Lose yourself
Baby got back
Gettin jiggy wit it
Gotta be some shit from snoop in there, just can’t think what??😂
my medicine ft willie nelson lmao
Sexual Seduction, lol
Gin & Juice
Snoop song: Who Am I or Gin and Juice
I think you forget how crazy anyone gets when Brass Monkey by Beastie Boys comes on. That song always hits 🔥
YOU SAID IT!!!! This is the comment I typed above: ""Brass Monkey", by the Beastie Boys, was the one us Black dudes was jamming at the house/apartment parties back in College. It was time to start drinking hard when we heard that." (That "Funky Monkey")
Brass Monkey crossovered to the urban communities though
Also…”SHOUT” you gotta see it 😂
I knew it was sweet Caroline....they act VERY different with that song....i seen big jacked dudes going crazy over this in Chicago.....i was flabbergasted....on another note...i have seen Chicago gang people doing footwork....i was equally flabbergasted.....that river dance shit threw me for a loop
Aries showing some love and respect to Eminem whenever his name is brought up 💪🏾 s/o to him!
House of pain Jump around
Return of the Mac!!
I see them get crunk to Montell Jordan “this is how we do it” like it dropped yesterday😅😂
Slim Shady song is terrible, but the rest of the album is a masterpiece. Same goes for the “guess whose back” song. Worse song on the album, but the rest of the album was perfect. It seems like he would always put out an annoying but catchy song where he roasts people to bring attention to the album and the rest of the album is the real art.
"The Real Slim Shady" was the last track he produced for that album and supposedly wrote and recorded it in under a day. Crazy
I think the My Name Is was more like a ice breaker and it was smart.
Eminem came up in the struggle and battling. He was already accepted by the time he made it
yeah in the detroit scene but in general the black community is lowkey racist towards him like some people don’t like him bc he’s a “White boy”.
Ya'll missed Whoomp There It Is 😂😂😂
He forgot Jump Around and Play that Funky Music 🎶 🤣
Aries full of shit he was in middle school or elementary school when Vanilla Ice came out. Vanilla Ice was never more accepted than Em
Top 5 overrated rappers ever
Nas
Jay-Z
Biggie
Rakim
Jadakiss
💯 FACTS
He is 100% correct about the "false hustle" thing because i said the same thing about Vanilla ice when his ice ice baby single was banging everywhere. I said something about this dude dont past the smell test and sure enough later it came out.
“Jump Around” House of Pain
