It's a derogative term for someone who wears lolita badly. I linked in the description a really helpful article about how to avoid making 'ita' mistakes. If you check out old Deerstalkers videos- The Secret Life of the lolita, they show a sort of parody of an ita
@@LovelyLor Is ita still a big thing? I'm one of those Sometimes Lolitas today but back in the day the fear of being called cringey and lesser-than for not following THE RULES totally stopped me from getting into it.
@HeuteNachtIstMeinTag that’s sad to hear. The way new lolitas are treated depend in each community. But if you never try because you are too afraid, you will never be blé to progress. I feel sad when people are afraid of being judged inside of the community they want to join. Most of the lolitas I know about absolutely lovely and welcoming and helping. But the lolita community is like any community, you will find nice people and bad people too.
@@tudormiller8898 It mean "painful to watch" in Japanese and we use it in lolita fashion to describe someone that isn't experienced and has a bad coordinate or coordinate that is poorly put together.
Fun fact you still don’t need to shell out 100$ to get a really good petticoat. I’ve been raving about Aurora & Ariel pettis for years now. Their amazing daily petti is only 15$, and a huge poof monster is I think 25. They’re made out of thick organdy and don’t seem to deflate at all.
Is it weird that I don't wear lolita yet I still jump with excitement when you upload? 😅 it must be your energy because you're one of my favorite youtubers!
Aradia Snowdon i love her and don’t wear lolita either. i think a lot of her viewers don’t wear lolita but they are into other subcultures so we still find some common ground.
I’m new to lolita so this helped me not buy an op because I literally was thinking “I don’t need to buy a blouse” and my petticoat is from costume castle... I’ll invest in better stuff now. Thank you wise one🙏
When I first started, I thought headbows were a must! I used them in all my coordinates, no matter how bad it looked with my wigs. I very much thought that the copy-paste sweet style was what lolita was supposed to look like. Nowadays, I almost never wear headbows, and I haven't worn a wig for lolita in years! I feel much more freedom in coordinating these days.
I am so happy we moved away from wigs being necessary in sweet lolita. I have a sensory thing on my scalp that makes me want to scrape my scalp of when I wear wigs. It happens with some hats as well, I just can't have things on my head for more than 5 mins
I'm kinda glad that I wear gothic lolita and I tend to wear a lot of all black because my hair is bright coke can red and tail bone length, so my hair doesn't really fit under a wig, and I find my red hair elevates my gothic coords anyway. When I started out I was invested in a lot of sweet lolita, but I found it didn't really suit me at all, and I never felt confident going outside. When I joined the goth subculture and dyed my hair a bright colour when I got older, was when I started developing my confidence wearing lolita fashion, because I was getting used to people staring at me because of my bright colored hair even when I wasn't wearing lolita. So basically it was like "well I get stared at for my hair colour anyway, so how's more staring going to matter". People do assume alot though that because of what I'm wearing I'm a super confident person who can do anything but I'm not at all, i have extreme social anxiety and tend to be really quiet.
@@tudormiller8898 yes, but you don't have to be to wear gothic lolita. I feel like lolita as a whole is a Japanese fashion that branched off of goth when Mana from malice mizer introduced his clothing line.
You never know when you might find your dream dress. I fell in love with the Royal Princess Alice x Automatic Honey collaboration dress called Witch Academy. I honestly thought I’d never find it in the lavender jsk at a price I was willing to pay. But today I went to my local angelic pretty store during a meet up and found a brand new Witch Academy jsk in lavender! It was only $300 and I bought it at once. I actually wore it home because it worked with the blouse and accessories I was wearing! I’m so happy i bought it and now have a new dress to wear to my next meet!
I don't wear Lolita, and I don't think I ever will, but I still really enjoy your videos. I'm glad you're looking back and fixing your mistakes. Keep going!
As a Bavarian girl the thought of someone wearing a costumedirndlblouse (dirndl is the correct word for the traditional dress some of us wear to weddings and funerals and big partys) is frightening 😂😂 I have multiple dirndl and blouses in my wardrobe and they where hecking expensive (by that I mean 250+ for a dress, 70+ for a bra, 50+ for a blouse) Original dirndlfashion is, like lolita, a lifestyle with whole coordinates to buy and style. Shoes, JSK, blouse, underwear, accessories, tights, hairpieces etc. And the stuff you get at costumestores and H&M and Zara etc is just horrible... Ah I could go on and on 😂😂😂
"German beer lady" was funny but almost offensive but I wouldn't be surprised to actually see a costume with that exact name in a store. Never owned a Dirndl and never will probably but they are expensive but nice.
Ngl I feel like a proper dirndl blouse would probably be so nice under lolita in summer. I mean it's less fabric/layering in the middle and underboob area lmao. I wish I heard of that when I still wore lolita lol
When I was planning to spend a month in Bavaria I was looking forward to Dirndl shops, thinking maybe it could be used as lolita, and then I realized how expensive it is o_o And I feel like, like in lolita nowadays, the price doesn't always match the quality? I've seen some very pretty Dirndl but the material was so synthetic...
@@Siriastimeflies we usually have blouses made of linen or wool here in southbavaria. But you have to go to the right store. Just because they are so much more enjoyable to wear, less synthetic, more natural, better feeling in the skin. My blouses are all made of linen. The only thing I can imagine being a problem with dirndlblouses and lolita is, that dirndlblouses have a really huge decollete and that is not something you want in lolita...
We all gave bad advices back in the days. I use to tell everyone that Bodyline was the best ever. I use to wore a frilly skirt as an actual petticoat and tell everyone that they didn't need to buy one. You are brave to face your mistakes, but they make you better.
Honestly I’ve kinda stop wearing petticoats, I actually like hoop skirts better now. The shape is really nice, you can buy them pretty cheap, and they last way longer then a petticoats. Hoops are also much cooler then petticoats, making them perfect for the summer. They’re a little difficult to pack and it’s a bit of a learning curve to sit in them, but for me it so worth it! Just be careful around low tables. 😂
Cheap costume store things are great to change and build onto. For accessories more specifically. Like hats. They have a lot of nice plain hats you can dress up into a very nice looking hat.
A big costume store in Germany is selling btssb bag replicas...and I was shocked! So basically you can get Lolita in costume stores here ....but you shouldn’t
I'm also from Germany. Are you talking about the clock bag? Unfortunately I've seen quite a few of these at conventions, the quality is really horrible. I've also seen quite a few replicas in the EMP store, at the moment they have the horror bat bag from angelic pretty. It's sad because most people probably mean well and don't know they buy a replica.
Meet You In Nirvana Yes. It’s a brown clock bag with btssb written on it for 20€ 🤦♀️ I didn’t know about the bat bag being a replica. It’s just that most people don’t even know those brands and don’t care about it. But I wonder if that’s even legal, since you‘re not allowed to sell fake nike shoes either >.
So proud to say I bought my first Lolita dress. It's an Angelic Pretty Toy Parade mint green OP off lace market. I know Lor said you may have to buy things you're not as interested in but even second hand can be expensive so I made a long list of prints I loved, and specifically prints i universally loved in both their OP, JSK, and different colors. It took a little while to find any of those prints on lace market, but I'm really happy to be able to buy something i really love. Lovely Lor inspired me to finally start buying lolita after admiring the fashion for a long time! Much Appreciated!
I'm not trying to be contrary, but I feel like there's a way to use square dance petticoats in lolita without it looking...bad. I use square-dance petticoats religiously because they never EVER deflate (seriously I've driven in MM petticoats for several hours and stuffed them into backpacks and *they don't give a flip*), but you got to be careful with which model and shape. Some of them, like you mentioned in your video, are /completely/ the wrong shape, the wrong material, or just absolutely HUGE. I've seen some that make 90 degree angles at the hips, and it's kind of nuts. You're also sort of limited with the shape of them to some extent? I only wear Classic A-lines though, so I can get away with it. You can pin the top layer of a petti up to give you that bell shape, so in a pinch, you get two petticoats for the price of one! That said, get a petti that is made of organza or organdy if you can. They're softer than netting and don't deflate, and tend to have better poof proportions. Certain models are safer in terms of side and shape as well. My go-to when I'm doing panels is suggesting Malco Modes 580 and 582's, as they're perfect for smaller girls who want a modest amount of poof, and 592's are the way to go for bigger girls like me.
Those last two!! When I was younger and I’d watch lolita makeup videos, I’d notice that the people in them had wigs and circle lenses and falsies. I ended up not even trying out the looks because I thought it would be “wrong” because I didn’t have those things 🙄 younger me was too caught up on stupid, self made rules 😂
I'm glad people are becoming more open and accepting of old school styles. I myself was introduced to lolita in the early 2000s, but I was a little teen and didn't have the resources to acquire them, so I've always silently wanted to make an old school coordinate. In fact, I was so old school, I was the opposite and was more-so turned off by the OTT sweet phase simply because it was so different from lolita when I was introduced to it. When I got back into it, I often saw those rules that said 'No 'bold color' and white!' or 'No lacy dresses. You'll be a lace monster!'
You are so pretty! Im do glad that you can acknowledge you're wrong, as not many youtubers can. Im really new to lolita and barley knew what it truly was until I started watching you. Some day I hope to purchase lolita items.
I have loved lolita fashion for the longest time but only started wearing it myself 3 years ago ^^ I always thought you couldn't have bare legs at all when starting out but there are so many lolita's who rock bare leggies (with ankle socks) and they look super cute! Personally I always wear tights but that's just my preference on me
I wish someone would have told me this back in the day when I first started as Lolita. But I was so overwhelmed by the "strict rules" and the criticism that followed if you ignored them, that I left pretty quickly. And now, at 32, I feel too old for it. But its still great to see that so many people are actively trying to make the community more welcoming and open!
Sorry, it has to be said that my cheap eBay pettis are doing the job, to the point people tell my poof is amazing at meets and want my secret. I use one of the long leg avenue style pettis and pull the waistband up to boob height. I use a short but VERY full petti underneath that sits at my hips. I tuck my blouse into the first petti's waistband then use a broad nurse belt over the top. It holds all my layers in place, makes everything nice and neat/flat around the waist area and then all my poof kicks out exactly where I want at the bottom of the belt/at the top of my hips.
Yeah, I remember when circle lenses were a big deal in Lolita. I always felt bad because I had astigmatism with a specific prescription and couldn't really safely wear them. Flash forward and I realized I shouldn't really care before they even went out of fashion???
I swear this is my favorite one of your wigs. I don’t know what it is about this specific one, but it always looks EXTRA cute for some reason and I love it. It’s such a pretty color.
I love that you're sharing your own growth too! The advice may have been perfect for the time! But the fact that you're sharing your growth is inspiring
Everything on this list sound so familiar, since I got into lolita a couple of years after you did. I was immediately advised to slap on a wig, false lashes, and circle lenses. Now I wear them when I feel extra fancy or don't have time to do my hair. I am still making due with some homemade and modified square dancing petticoats though. Perhaps this will be the year I invest in a legit petti.
The Leg Avenue petticoat is better for lightweight fabrics. I have a few Bodyline pieces from my beginner days that I still like. I eventually did invest in a proper bell petticoat, but he usual big puffy shapes are too big for most bodyline dresses. Layering the leg avenue petticoats works much better. Where were you spending 25 USD each for those petticoats? I spent 35 usd for three of them.
Not so fun fact, I got scammed into spending $35 (plus tax) for one leg avenue petticoat. I stupidly didn't look at the label before buying, and I thought it was "handmade local." No refunds. 🙃 But it does look great with my pleated skirt. I don't even own anything that would look good with a big bell-shaped petticoat, at the moment, although I do adore the look.
I've seen a lot of people selling second hand petticoats which are not really poofy. And the poofs probably will die down as it ages. Recently I've been researching on taobao and I've found a great seller that sells a petticoat that can give you a full lift of your dress. The effect is equivalent to 2-3 normal petticoats that usually Lolitas wear. Because it uses 14m of glass yarn fabric. 14 freaking metres :O I've just ordered one from them and I'm planning to do a before and after review about it! If it still turns out well after a year I'll definitely recommend everyone. Stay tune!~~~:D
You are educating both us and yourself, while growing into seeing what's good and what's less good advice! I'm also really happy to see that you are uploading a lot of videos lately, whatever the subject might be. Thank you for putting so much time and effort into videos, editing, educating and entertaining us. I look up to you Lor! Also, I haven't been wearing lolita for months now and are planning on selling my first EVER Angelic Pretty dress. as I feel like I'm not giving it enough love. I feel like I actually can't afford the hobby. I have one dress that I want to keep, maybe because it's more my style? (Think creepy cute/pastel goth but lolita. Yes. Mwah.) I need to think this through, but for now, I have to say goodbye to Day Dream Carnival.Another problem I come across is that I've sort of distanced myself from my community because I'm currently in a position where I feel financially and socially strained to hang out. It's awful, but I try to keep in touch with them because we're growing, and they're a lovely group of humans
This made me finally buckle down and order a good petticoat! My classical puppets one is almost 4 years old and getting flatter and flatter. And my leg avenue ones are already flat lol. So I ordered a melikestea cupcake one! Thank you for inspiring me! :3
Re: #7 and Replicas. I still can't wear a lot of brand as I am outside their size range so if I want the print I have to replica it. Also before anyone says "Well just lose weight" you try to lose weight on a medication or three that have a side effect of weight gain when maintaining your current weight is a herculean task. As a side note, I've found that indie brands are more likely to have shirring or something closer to my size so I tend to go for those, but there are still a brand print or two that I have a mighty need that aren't in my size(and likely never will be).
Or you are literally on the other side and your body is too skinny for some brand pieces. I own one AP dress that does look like it fits me but I can pinch a few inches of fabric because it's actually really loose on my ribcage and waist not my chest though.
Digi Plays i have the same problems. I have a large bust and the only way I can loose that is by a boob reduction! I’m a 36 FFF and it’s bloody hard to find anything in my size.
That’s why I just try to buy non-replica taobao and indie stuff because it’s the same price but I’m supporting the original artist and nobody will attack me for it. But if there’s a specific dress you want and it doesn’t even exist in your size there is nothing to do except get a replica or forever go without, which sucks
Find me a plus size friendly indie brand with prints as cute as the ones used in replicas and you'll have a lifelong customer, but a lot of the indie brands either do no prints or prints with elements that I'm not into (like they're pretty cute, until you notice the candy gore or oozing skulls.)
I was one of those who thought that you must wear a wig, I only wore one twice (one was really cheap and horrible) before I realised I didn't like them, so I said f*@$ it I'm not wearing them, best decision I've ever made 😁
Coming back a year later, this definitely serves as helpful (you correcting yourself) tips for when I’m actually able to purchase lolita pieces! I honestly was under the impression that you absolutely must have a wig when in lolita and that OP’s were the easier choice (especially since I’m a bit self-conscious about my arms, though I would be wearing a blouse underneath a jsk).
Something I was pretty adamant about when I was first starting out, was that brand just absolutely wasn't worth it and I only went after offbrand or handmade pieces. Back then, brand was less accessible and more expensive (even secondhand), but when I did finally get my first secondhand BtSSB piece it totally changed my opinion. It wasn't that much more expensive than a new offbrand piece, haha. It's so easy these days to be a budget-friendly lolita thanks to taobao and the huge secondhand market, it's crazy!
Also starting out in lolita I believed you didn’t need that nice of shoes and just wore my pink Bodyline ones until they started cracking 😅 I also believed you didn’t need super nice wigs until I ordered a couple really cute ones! I had so many misconceptions now that I think about it. I didn’t even care about head pieces but now that I’m so ott sweet it’s so different!
Pixie Kat on my channel I have interviews of a mother of 45 and a daughter of 13 wearing the fashion together. I also have a friend that has a 6 years old daughter. And she still wears lolita on a daily basis.
7:52 as long as you have an idea of what you want your hair to look like, natural hair is perfectly fine versus wigs. Wigs are really nice thkigh, but they take extra work to take care of versus real hair.
My parents won't let me wear lolita because they're worried about creepy people seeing and thinking creepy stuff/ normal people associating it with the book. They know what it is, but they won't let me... I still live with them. Any advice?
I feel like you can take some liberties in the petticoat thing. Whatever works for you. I got a real nice taobao petticoat this summer and it's really nice and convenient, you just slide it on and go, but squaredance petticoats are great for layering for the 'maximum-poof' effect. I think anyone should do whatever goes best with their wardrobe and style.
Lovely Lor haha no worries! i had my replica phase too! i think a lot of us have. i have gotten rid of all of my replicas but for the most part i have replaced them with the real thing since they were dresses that i really wanted. i wish i kept the replicas so i could make videos or take photos of side by side comparisons of the quality!
I only have ine replica.. It's not that bad surprisingly. Only reason i got it was because the original was almost 400 secondhand... Not a terrible replica, pretty good lol maybe once i actually see what the real dress looks like in person ill be shook lol
Hi!! Even though I've admired lolita from afar since like..............2010 probably? I've only recently started to ease my way into the community myself, since I've been exposed to so many wonderful plus size lolitas and realized that it wasn't impossible for me to participate after all! The only thing is that its been a struggle trying to find resources for plus size lolita second hand or tips for alterations, and while I adore my Gloomth pieces, I'd love to have the opportunity to branch out into different styles. I know it's probably not necessarily your area of expertise, but any suggestion would help 😭
This is so interesting to me because I remember you from LiveJournal and somehow thought you started before the sweet boom xD great video! It makes me think back on "rules" that I remember xD
It's not mandatory though. The older idea was that you absolutely had to wear them in order to dress lolita, but older lolitas or lolitas whom have been in the fashion longer tend to wear their natural hair, especially if they wear it more commonly than strictly for events.
When I first started I thought that if your petti was cute and matched your dress it was okay if it peeked out a little bit from under your dress. (thank goodness I never practiced that ideology though). I now know petti's are basically underwear and that underskirts are the things that are the ruffles that peek out. lol
I don't really like wearing wigs but since my own hair is purple and blue at the moment it doesn't go well with most of the dresses. But I love my hair so that's how it goes~
I only wore a wig one time while in lolita. It was horrible, my hair was super long at the time so the cap was very tight, it was hot, humid and just...ehhhhhhhhh
I actually hand stitched my petticoat and I love is. So much better then the terrible Pettis I used to get. Side note: don't handstitch a petticoat unless you're passionate about it, you're not saving that much money and it took me two weeks.
1) Glasses: Some girls in my community would shame lolitas wearing glasses that don't match the coord. I always wore contact lenses back then. But one day, somebody said that glasses are medical devices. Would you shame somebody's wheelchair? Nope. So I felt more confident wearing my not loliable glasses. Because they are medical devices. And where I live, it is super expensive. 2) Makeup: Lolita without makeup look somehow unfinished. But after a big eczema crisis that required UV treatment, I felt ok not wearing makeup. And apparently, make-up free gothics exist. So it should be ok in lolita too, I guess? 3) Sneakers: Back then, sneakers were taboos. Glad it is now ok to wear cute and loliable sneakers! So comfy ❤
Sorry for comments on an old video. I'm just starting out and my biggest issue is finding things that'll fit me since I'm generally a XL/1X in North American sizes. Finding chest and waist measurements over 100 cm is hard. Shoes will have to wait, since I'm not sure what size I need in Asian sizes (partly because my feet are slightly wide [or maybe high], not wide enough to usually need a wider width shoe [my heels fall out of those], but enough that some shoes won't fit). I'm not sure if it's a problem, but I also can't wear contact lenses and I need glasses to see. My prescription is really high so glasses are expensive, so I can't afford more than one pair on my limited budget. :( Also, is natural hair without bangs okay? My forehead breaks out when I have bangs, so I haven't had them since I was a teenager (I'm old now). I hope being old isn't a problem either. I've liked this stuff for awhile but always blew it off as "I'm too old for that".
Your comment is quite old but I hope this helps still: For sizing, the brand Metamorphose offers designs in plus sizes that go above 100cm in the bust. If new brand is out of your budget (valid), you can check out the secondhand market -- You might be able to find some good plus size pieces on Lace Market (try the advanced search function, it allows you to search for plus size friendly options). I believe that multiple sizes and custom sizing is quite common in Chinese brands so you might want to look into Taobao as well, either by using a shopping service or buying through a reseller. Your glasses are perfectly fine -- They're not a fashion accessory, you need them to be able to see, after all. You might be able to work them into your coordinates but it's not a requirement, in my opinion; you can wear whatever you want, whether your glasses match or not. Natural hair without bangs is completely ok (just make sure that it's styled and looks nice), and so is being "old"! I've cut bangs in my hair a year or two ago but I've been wearing lolita without bangs for many years; and I'm now in my 30s and have no intention to stop wearing the fashion, so I encourage you to go for it! Live your best life!
@@Slithera Thank you. I have seen Meta has larger sizes. Unfortunately, Brand prices are out of my budget (especially being in Canada... with the Canadian dollar not being worth much and needing to pay customs fees and taxes on anything over $20). 😅 I was able to get a couple of things on Taobao (tried both shopping service and a reseller). I still don't have much in accessories since the jsks I got didn't come with anything else. I kind of wish my glasses weren't black/gray frames, but it's the ones that look the best on me and they'll have to do. I try to make my hair look nice. I think I'm overdue for a haircut, but I try. (It's like past waist length and wavy). I don't have everything to make a complete coord yet (and still haven't figured out shoes... ones I got from Bodyline had issues... one pair I had to add holes to the straps but they fit otherwise, the other one the strap was perfect but the rest of the shoe was way too big). I'm trying my best.
@@ashleyien1222 That's completely fair! I'm glad you found pieces on Taobao, that's a great start. It's ok to not have everything figured out before you have your first coord put together -- In all honesty, that's the most challenging coord you'll ever create, since you have to find all the pieces and hope they all work together. If I remember correctly, Lor has a video about hairstyles for lolita fashion so that might give you some ideas or inspiration! Haircut or no, your hair sounds incredibly beautiful. It can take time, and can be a bit of trial and error (especially with color matching; you can never be sure everything matches until you have it all in your hands), but you'll get there! I believe in you 💖
Honestly, I was struggling to find blouses that were remotely close to my measurements (I never realized how broad my shoulders apparently are compared to the rest of my torso until getting into lolita) that didn't cost so much, and I found one pieces that fit my body better before I found a blouse, and I wasn't ready to fully commit, so I got one pieces. I'm just starting out, so my wardrobe is very small and I am lacking accessories, but I did just order a blouse. I am really working on overhauling my whole wardrobe to be generally kawaii, not just lolita, and I want some things to wear more casually, so that's what I'm focusing on at the moment until I start making more money. I'm really interested in alt fashion, particularly kawaii fashion, in general, so it's tough to pick a favorite. And I have yet to find a dream dress to work towards. I really like the sailor lolita dress I got from Devilinspired, so maybe it will be sailor lolita.
hahhh i do dquare dancing and yeah crinolines are massive. im not so much a lolita but i love vintage fashion so i have alot of circle skirts (a few from square dancing) but i only have big ol crinolines so i really need to invest in a less full petticoat.
i’m not sure if you have a video about this, but do you have any advice for americans who want to start dressing in lolita but don't know where to buy from? every site people talk about buying from is in japanese and im worried 1. shipping will be insane 2. i can't read japanese so i’m gonna misinterpret what the sites say 3. converting USD to JPY will mess something up and 4. sizing??? idk i feel like i’m missing something that all the other lolita's already know. sorry for the long comment, i hope you see this!
Unfortunately I can’t get a new petticoat atm so I’m stuck with a way too long cosplay petticoat😭 I’m gonna make so many people mad when I get my first dress lmao
I feel strange about the OP stuff because I own more OPs then JSKs and I honestly just like the look of the OPs better? Like I feel as though the shape of the OPs suit my body shape better? I also wear lolita about half the time I go out, but I don't feel like "oh no I am wearing the same thing" like I love my dresses and I don't mind wearing the same dresses multiple times. I just think OPs look better *on MY body* then JSKs
...can someone fill me in on what ita is???
It's a derogative term for someone who wears lolita badly. I linked in the description a really helpful article about how to avoid making 'ita' mistakes. If you check out old Deerstalkers videos- The Secret Life of the lolita, they show a sort of parody of an ita

So were you Goth before you became a Lolita ?
Keep going!
About 1.
Aurora and Ariel has VERY poofy lolita pettis on taobao, for like 15-20 usd
As a Bavarian girl the thought of someone wearing a costumedirndlblouse (dirndl is the correct word for the traditional dress some of us wear to weddings and funerals and big partys) is frightening 😂😂
I have multiple dirndl and blouses in my wardrobe and they where hecking expensive (by that I mean 250+ for a dress, 70+ for a bra, 50+ for a blouse)
Original dirndlfashion is, like lolita, a lifestyle with whole coordinates to buy and style.
@@DieAlteistwiederda my first thought was, is this what cultural appropriation feels like? Cause I'm kinda offended and have the urge to correct 😅
You've changed so much, in a good way of course! I love your channel
I did a panel at a con about j-fashion once and stated "Otome Kei is like lolita without a petticoat." ....... I'm sorry.
i always wondered if you dressed up only to film your videos and now i have confirmed that you do. i admire your dedication.
With the petticoat thing, layering them also wear out the waistband because you never remember which one you put on the outside
Whatever glitter you've been using on your eyes lately is really pretty!
I've been so excited for this video since you mentioned it last time! your eyeshadow is so cute, I love it
I love the idea of this, Lor! I love seeing the changes from over time. :)
I'm so early, but ready for the video 💞
You are so sincere and kind, Lor, I appreciate this. Lots of love from Chile 💖
Unrelated, but where is your blouse from?
It was from a thrift store haha it's a weird 1980's blouse that's not lolita but I like wearing it with lolita. There's no label on it I'm sorry :(
I love that you're sharing your own growth too!
This is so helpful, for the longest time thought I had to wear a wig since I have green hair, thanks for the tips 💜
I love how your foundation looks a bit pink toned. It just matches so nicely with your cord.
Or you could get the brand dress altered. Lots of people do that.
your makeup is killing it!!!
German beerlady:
Dress= Dirndl
Blouse= Dirndlbluse ;)
German is amazing for hyphenating.
I love my pink hair with lolita, completes my full pink co ord!
Lor, you are wearing my dream dress😭💕
Also starting out in lolita I believed you didn’t need that nice of shoes and just wore my pink Bodyline ones until they started cracking 😅 I also believed you didn’t need super nice wigs until I ordered a couple really cute ones! I had so many misconceptions now that I think about it. I didn’t even care about head pieces but now that I’m so ott sweet it’s so different!
Lor, you look incredible in this video! The wig is such a pretty look for you!!!
How do you feel about moms being in Lolita? I was shunned from mine when I told them I was expecting. I wish people were accepting of moms in lolita
Pixie Kat on my channel I have interviews of a mother of 45 and a daughter of 13 wearing the fashion together. I also have a friend that has a 6 years old daughter. And she still wears lolita on a daily basis.
Off-topic, but the Sims 1 music fuckin took me off guard dude. So much nostalgia..
This wig color is amazing on your Lor!
7:52 as long as you have an idea of what you want your hair to look like, natural hair is perfectly fine versus wigs. Wigs are really nice thkigh, but they take extra work to take care of versus real hair.
I love that your uploading more fashion content!!!
I wore those leg avenue pettis for years myself. A few months ago I finally made a good one. It makes my coords so much more comfortable.
this was very helpful. ive been wanting dress up lolita for years. >_
Miwako you should do it Miwako! Try lolita fashion!
I love the sims music in your videos!!
I love your blouse in this soooo much
My parents won't let me wear lolita because they're worried about creepy people seeing and thinking creepy stuff/ normal people associating it with the book.
I think anyone should do whatever goes best with their wardrobe and style.
your smile in the picture of you wearing the milky chan replica dress is so pretty. ☺️
Thank you! That was a such a fun meetup that I forgot about how awful the quality of my dress was hahaaha
Awww Lor! I haven’t been here in soooooooo long. I’ve missed you.
Someone disliked this 🤬you buddy!
You've evolved and got better thanks for this video
This is so interesting to me because I remember you from LiveJournal and somehow thought you started before the sweet boom xD great video! It makes me think back on "rules" that I remember xD
your BLOUSE!!!! its so pretty!
I actually had the opposite problem with JSKs. Where I live it was nearly impossible to find a good blouse and I ended up preferring OPs because of it
omg your wig is THE prettiest colour!
8:13 wait what? The majority of Lolita’s I’ve seen these wigs that are obvi not natural colors lol and it looks super cute too!
It's not mandatory though. The older idea was that you absolutely had to wear them in order to dress lolita, but older lolitas or lolitas whom have been in the fashion longer tend to wear their natural hair, especially if they wear it more commonly than strictly for events.
Petticoats! I look back at my photos and cringe my dress was not the right shape with the leg Avenue pettis. And they shed!!!
I still have my leg avenue petti I got from your blog ;u;
OMG I REMEMBER WHEN CIRCLE LENSES SEEMED TO BE A REQUIREMENT AND THEN I WAS LIKE NOT ABOUT THAT PINKY PARADISE LENS SHIPPING GOSHHHHHHH
I actually hand stitched my petticoat and I love is. So much better then the terrible Pettis I used to get.
Side note: don't handstitch a petticoat unless you're passionate about it, you're not saving that much money and it took me two weeks.
I use a hoop skirt to help with puff
I love this makeup look so much! I need your eye shadow palette! Do you remember which one you used?
Your hat and lacy blouse are amazing !!
So comfy ❤
Loving your makeup here, Lor! ♥
Thank you so much! my secret is to rub urban decay's heavy metals glitter eyeliner all over my eyelid haha
ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I see!
Also, is natural hair without bangs okay? My forehead breaks out when I have bangs, so I haven't had them since I was a teenager (I'm old now).
I hope being old isn't a problem either. I've liked this stuff for awhile but always blew it off as "I'm too old for that".
Your comment is quite old but I hope this helps still:
For sizing, the brand Metamorphose offers designs in plus sizes that go above 100cm in the bust.
I was able to get a couple of things on Taobao (tried both shopping service and a reseller).
I believe in you 💖
@@Slithera Thank you.
I'll have to try and remember to look for hairstyle videos when I have a chance.
You're giving me pastel Lolita dead girl living in a Tim Burton movie vibes...and I fucking love it
Lor: Will you please listen, I'm not the messiah!
Us: SHE IS THE MESSIAH
GO OFF SIS😍😍🤤🤤
i’m not sure if you have a video about this, but do you have any advice for americans who want to start dressing in lolita but don't know where to buy from? every site people talk about buying from is in japanese and im worried 1. shipping will be insane 2. i can't read japanese so i’m gonna misinterpret what the sites say 3. converting USD to JPY will mess something up and 4. sizing??? idk i feel like i’m missing something that all the other lolita's already know. sorry for the long comment, i hope you see this!
Unfortunately I can’t get a new petticoat atm so I’m stuck with a way too long cosplay petticoat😭 I’m gonna make so many people mad when I get my first dress lmao
THIS EYEMAKEUP ON YOU LOR YES
I feel strange about the OP stuff because I own more OPs then JSKs and I honestly just like the look of the OPs better? Like I feel as though the shape of the OPs suit my body shape better? I also wear lolita about half the time I go out, but I don't feel like "oh no I am wearing the same thing" like I love my dresses and I don't mind wearing the same dresses multiple times. I just think OPs look better *on MY body* then JSKs
That was great! Does anyone know Lor's eye shadow, it's really pretty!
Fr though your skin is sooo lilac in this video 😍😍😍
Your videos make me so happy!
