    Everyone! You can also add the retro wobble effect
    ~ Create a second adjustment layer but ONLY with wave warp effect (not noise)
    Wave type: Triangle
    Wave height: 5
    Wave width: 500
    Direction: 0
    Wave speed: 2.5
    Pinning: All Edges

    You can do that "black video" by using adjustment layer and then add "crop" from effects. You can then select 10% on each side. Good luck!

    great tutorial! only thing is the overlay, when you use a video with a black background, you can change the blend mode to "screen" and it will take it away without doing much to the video while still keeping the text or image that is on the overlay, thanks for the video though! :)

    For the black bar part you can also import the video in 4:3 or download a 4:3 black bar png and put it on top of the video, it's more practical.

  • @cwright2657
    @cwright2657 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    if you're wanting 4:3, I think the effect sales itself better if you change the sequence settings to 1280x962 rather than adding the black video. Particularly because once it's uploaded to TH-cam, there is a high chance for artifacts to generate in the black bar area of the video due to compression and connectivity. This has two primary benefits. 1: your video looks closer to having actually been shot on Hi-8 or DV because of 2: TH-cam will automatically generate the black bars and auto-format to the orientation of a device (this generates black bars that are a true black, with no compression or artifacting because there is no "video" there). Aesthetically, in portrait mode on a phone the video will fill the screen up to the edges and in landscape it'll have the black bars. You can also do this with HD video for Instagram and the posts themselves will appear larger (think)

    make a even more real vhs effect..
    make sure the video that you want to render is 640 x 480 pixels..
    or atleast in 4:3 aspect ratio..
    so you dont need to do black video thingy..
    and the video resolution would be like an actual vhs

    • @officialdiomer
      @officialdiomer 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@kennsai2217 go to New, Sequence, Settings (at the top), click editing mode and click custom, then enter 1280x960. you can do the smaller setting at 640x480 but I'd suggest the bigger pixels if you're editing with HD footage.

  • @BenjaminScottfromFrance
    @BenjaminScottfromFrance 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You could set the VHS video mode to Screen rather than dimishing opacity :) it gets rid of all dark colors and basically makes it transparent. Except if you want the clip to look a bit darker, I guess it's down to the taste!

    • @BenjaminScottfromFrance
      @BenjaminScottfromFrance 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      and DO NOT ADD BLACK BARS! just change the sequence settings to 4:3 if that's what you wanna do - and finally, if you do want the black bars, no need to create a Black Video file everytime, the same one can be used multiple times, same for adjustment layers.

  • @ivanmontoya4221
