Weirdly Simon released the S21B before the S21A. I bought an S21A thinking the difference was only cosmetic. I agree the S21B is definitely a better design even if I prefer the look of S21A (which comes in multiple colours). I ordered a Pioneman K21X Xhp70.2 because I wanted that LED in a small package.

In my imagination, I like the design of Nitecore MH12GTS but the model This is no more. Try to imagine, If Convoy makes a tactical flashlight with the same design as the MH12GTS nitcores, it's just a little bigger because it uses a 21700 battery, uses an 8A driver and LEDSFT-40. The Nitecore MH12GTS model before This uses an 18650 battery.
In my opinion Tactical more preferable can used both batteries 21700 n reducer tube for 18650,review more about tecnical liked this could open minds, how it's work, n functions for each parts of a flash lights. Thanks Sir Weerapat K. Mbu
I get your point. Unfortunately I like the S2+, S21A design more. I undestand that in the end it's all about the beam not the host. After all we use them to light up stuff.
The heat transfer is better on the S21B due to the integrated shelf but I think the S21A will be fine for those who don't plan on using 100% mode a lot.
I love the K21 design. Might get one in the future. I hope it supports 22mm drivers so that I have the option to try the high CRI variants of the XHP50.3 HI or XHP70.3 HI.

Great comparison video! I followed your great advice to get a S21 with XHP50.2 for cycling! Simon sent it very fast, at the beginning of his holidays, but the cycling lens was not installed (but 4 are in the package). I searched the internet for installing a (cycling) TIR for S21A, could not find good advice (only S2+), so I tried myself: I removed the white plastic gasket, the op reflector and the glas lens. I kept the black o-ring in the light, put the reflector in and screwed the pill back into the S21A. Now the o-ring seems to be not fixed properly, I already changed it. But overall I think it is not the best way to do it. How do you install a lens in the S21A? Which parts to remove or to keep? Thanks in advance! Greetings, GS :-)
In s21a, it's quite difficult as I said. I remove the gasket and the reflector. When screwing in the pill, if it is too much, this would damage the glass lens and the o-ring. If your o-ring is old or worn out, it may come out of its place when screwing in the pill. Thanks for watching and sharing sir 😊.

In my S21A the pill unscrewed itself while riding - like you explain in the video. It has the solid column on the driver for XHP50.2. Yesterday I asked in BudgetLightForum but I decided to ask you if you have cycling experience with S21As with different drivers. :-) Somebody wrote in BLF that a S2+ with pill and spring on the driver works for him. :-D
@@gs78798 It unscrew itself even with spring on the driver sir. That's why I like S21b more than s21a. Even the flashlight with no pill may experience this problem. My Mantaray c8.2, its brass ring that tighten the driver can unscrew itself when riding rough terrain. So it's important to check carefully. Thanks for watching sir 😊.

Do you know which emitters have the driver with a spring? I have s21b with sft-40 and it has a spring so I can use protected 21700 cells. I also have another s21b with xhp50.3 and that has a “nub” not a spring, so protected cells will not fit. I want pioneman with xhp70.3 but i only use protected cells (i had bad luck with unprotected cells in the past), and it looks like it doesn’t have the spring driver.
