I've retired from truck driving 23 years now. I'm 72 solo female driver from Wisconsin so I watch you a lot. Also watched Joe Pessi but he quit flatbed to be home with family. I miss driving but can watch you and reminisce about truck drama, a lot has changed in 23 years. Great videos thanx Josh.
That was really nice of them to loan their van for a couple of hours! Don't see much hospitality like that these days! I always clean my truck on resets. After my reset, I start with a clean truck! I don't play farm simulator games, but I have been playing Hay Day (lol) since 2012. My dad's step dad and his mom grew cotton, summers I'd go from Colorado to California to visit my dad, and I'd spend time with grandma and grandpa in Kerman California grandma and grandpa always had cotton, but the fields around them always had alfalfa fields, grapes and almond trees. Always fun! I'd like to have my own hobby farm someday, we shall see! Stay safe! Still praying for you and Britt for good news on another baby in your future!

When I first started at Werner Enterprise, I cleaned "company man" trucks. Because they didn't own it, they were always disgusting; trash, human waste, adult stuff, you name it. I like seeing people who take pride and responsibility. You're a great dude

Hey Josh..hospitality was received in your home town of Steinbach..a number of years ago our air conditioner blew near Kenora...got in to a business that was going to repair it....gave us a loaner car which we took our son to Tinker town..very nice of them

Not drop-dead surprised the receivers flipped you their van. Peterborough is what I think of as a "small town" type of city. It's just on the edge of the Toronto sphere of influence and still heavily influenced by the sparsely populated areas to its north. While you can spend millions of $$ if you have them, real estate prices don;t seem to be that much different than your home area. Very nice gesture by those folks just the same. Road resets suck for family life, but sometimes are actually more restful than home time.
Really nice for them to let you use their company vehicle. Most won't let all their own employees use their vics, but to let a stranger do it, pretty nice of them. Enjoy the break.

I get your frustration on food and the border. Here is a horror story why this makes sense: there is an African swine pest spreading through Europe killing almost all wild boars. It first only made it to Poland from the East, but then, it seems a trucker had a pork sandwich with infected meat they discarded in the Netherlands at a truck stop where they have problems with wild boars going through trash. It caused an outbreak just like in Eastern Europe. Thing is, certain diseases are 100% harmless, thus you don’t even realize that you could be a spreader. You don’t get sick. But for European swine that never were exposed to the African disease, it is 98% deadly and it can spread from cadavers though other animals - and it survives in cadavers for decades.
I've lived in Peterborough all my life and yes we are a very friendly community. I'm surprised the people hat own the business didn't invite you back to their place for a home cooked meal
Not sure how applicable this is today, but in the early 2000s I was allowed to take apples across the border from Canada into the US (BC into Washington to be precise). They wanted to look at those oval stickers on the apples that state where the fruit is from. I believe they were US apples bought at a Canadian grocery store. And that's probably why they were like, "Yeah, you can keep those." And that was that. I officially took fruit across the border. Now, 20 years later, who knows? It might still work if the fruit is originally from the US. It might not.

Farm sim was out since around 2013 i played 2013-2017-2019-2022 but im not getting 2025 cause its the same pretty much as 2022 since i mainly do logging on there i use 2 joysticks and a wheel on it differently alot more fun that way lol

So you are allowed to drive the truck when you do your reset? Here in Sweden we can't move an inch. If we do, the reset ends and you have to start all over. Well you can drive the truck without your id driver card inserted in the truck, but that is illegal 😅
