Well she does have a "Persecution complex" after all! But yeah it is kind of sad. I mean looking at the skill itself as her personal, it means she has a bit in common with pitbulls. If they believe they're in a situation where there is no chance for survival taking her mindset into account , they will go down swinging! I am happy that she does get a good amount of great endings. Even with characters that you would think she would be tormented all the time with AKA Hubert who I paired her with in my first ever play through. I enjoyed their support conversations and was happy to see that they made a good pair do I love shipping her with Ferdinand oh, especially the irony mean in that he was the type of husband her father would have wanted her to marry for his own gain, and yet ironically it's because of what he did to her that cause the poor boy to beg his parents not to engage him with her because of the bad rumors coming off from her gloominess, all caused by her father, in the only way the two were able to bond at all was because of her mother's pretty harsh but good in the long-run action of removing her from the household and sending her to the monastery, and disassociating herself from her family meant he gets absolutely nothing from her marriage. Isn't it great and karmedic when someone gets the ending they deserve from their actions! Not that anything goes well for the guy no matter what route is taken, since he pretty much loses everything, can get exiled, or pretty much Bernie dies when you're forced to face her as an enemy and have to kill her... The one ending I never one for her she's a character I always recruit outside of black Eagles on principle even if she remains benched because she's the only one who's fate I don't want to see end badly. And I have no hated characters among the playables , so it says something when she's the only one I don't want to see have a bad ending period.
When dealing with someone who has crippling anxiety (social or otherwise) like this, it's easier for them- and in the long run you- if you speak calmly and clearly, and get right to the point. She also has her share of abuse-related PTSD, though unaddressed, so try to be gentle if you can. If this fails, you can always find someone she already trusts and have them deliver the message. ^^
Bernadetta, a word of caution. If you intend to utilize the TH-cam comments section as a means of acquiring social validation, be warned that people here are far more hostile and terrifying than the ones outside.....

Ingrid was the only person who was genuinely mean to Bernie and I havent forgiven her for it. Everyone else was misunderstood, but Ingrid genuinely broke down her door and kidnapped her. I wouldnt blame her if she was terrified, thats exactly how she was kidnapped to the officers academy
The plot is literally just Bernadetta having to leave her room to eat. You know, if it would be made into a serious game, it might actually be an interesting game that shines a bit of light on how the psychology behing a persecution complex works.
How cruel is it that the one who is scared of everything has to take damage to benefit from her passive? I think she and Ferdinand should trade their unique skills (maybe keep the names the same, though).
Bernadetta has been tight to a chair untill she fainted from exhaustion, got all of her personal belongings destroyed that don't correlate to being an obedient wife, was probably been screamed at and possibly beaten every day and told to "just be normal" and had assassins paid by her own father send after her. And after all that she was kidnapped and forcibly enlisted in a war academy. No wonder she behaves that way.
