      @@THEOFFGRIDMOUNTAINHOMESTEAD Yeah Ive been on scamazon for 15 or so years. I bought an inverter on there had a $45 off coupon, next day it was 40 after than no coupon lol I was just stating for anyone reading what todays price was, I def am gonna pick one up myself gonna watch it a bit because it will be a few weeks before I get the water wheel done so I don't need it today once a good deal pops up on it I will and if I bother talking about it on my channel I'll give you a mention for advice on this stuff.
      My elec bill runs $400ish a month for the 7 of us so yeah I'm looking to squash that. My creek is super low right now but for the most time it does pretty well. I'll still keep my grid hookup for things like the cloths dryer and my welder/shop tools but I want 80% of my elec needs to be from water generation. I'm not doing a central unit but modular, every room on it's on inverter so when one does quit the whole house ain't off. I just concreted in a side of the dam that got knocked out a month ago and only have large commercial truck batteries for now but eventually Lord allowing and the creek don't rise I'll get it pieced together. I've scrapped out campers and buses and kept the wiring I have some nice 00 gauge wire already on hand that I have no $ into.
      Def been enjoying your videos, thanks for being real and not bringing drama and music into your videos, educational and fun to watch/fam friendly, my kids like watching too ages 5-14.

    Nice, I want to series my large batteries so they are at a higher voltage. Using them to top off smaller 12V batteries for small 12V systems. That looks like it would work well once I find a way to limit current.

      I didn't see more than 2 amp but this may be all this panel produces.

    For the money I think it's a great deal. I've had a Northern Tools controller running on my gate opener battery for over 10 years now... the display is barely readable, and I've had to take it apart several times to clean out bugs/spiders... but it still just goes (It's not MPPT, not even sure if that existed when I purchased that thing). I've been thinking of swapping out that battery (next time it dies) for lithium, and so I think I'll buy one of these. Wondering what it's efficiency is, and it is of course a little slow to track... but for the money, and for the application who cares... I own a bunch of these things. My best one updates tracking many times a second, and is 99% efficient, but it dang well better be for what it cost. But for small applications, and startups I think it's an excellent choice, they do generally last forever unless they get struck by lightening or suffer physical damage. I generally put up a small roof just six inches over the box, of all my outdoor ones, to keep the sun and rain from destroying them, and they just go like the energizer bunny. It's likely I'll replace my oldest one (above) due to technology changes before it dies...

    • @THEOFFGRIDMOUNTAINHOMESTEAD
      @THEOFFGRIDMOUNTAINHOMESTEAD  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I was putting 240 +/- watts in and was getting right at 240 out. They claim 98% total efficiency so very close to if not over spec. It was most likely slow to track due to power supply, I was changing VOC so like it had a different set of panels every time I adjusted the voltage. Same as if an Outback or Midnite sees a new VOC input it stops and recalculates before tracking and charging again. I will have this controller on a set of glass whenever my filming schedule and weather decides to cooperate lol. Try to do a side by side with another controller on same panels to see which can get the most power.

    does this device show wattage coming from the panels and how full batteries are?
    just installed my first system, two 12v 100ah power queen batteries, renogy 700w inverter and lion energy 12v 30amp solar charge controller plus 3 lion energy 12v 100watt rigid panels.
    charged both batteries to full with vevor charger and then connected my full size fridge. everything ran fine for 2 full days.
    this morning the inverter sounded an alarm and i had to plug fridge into the house. im wondering if the panels couldnt keep up.

    • @THEOFFGRIDMOUNTAINHOMESTEAD
      @THEOFFGRIDMOUNTAINHOMESTEAD  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It shows incoming power, and gives a decent estimate at battery capacity level!
      Sounds like your panels can’t get you recharged quickly enough/can’t keep up with load! Average size self defrosting refrigerator/freezer consumes about 1.2kWh to 1.5kWh per day!
      Get yourself a battery monitor/shunt to start th-cam.com/video/9Wm_r-EJDEY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=57Q7JZ4pyiQvMZOX
      Get either/best price, they’re excellent and accurate. Also will show how much you’re actually delivering to the batteries! Then look at increasing your array size!

      You can set it to your chemistry and it has pre programmed values or you can customize. The setup is very easy, manual is good at explaining configuration. Add circuit protection (fuse/breakers) proper size wire and you’re good!

      @THEOFFGRIDMOUNTAINHOMESTEAD Sounds great 👍🏻 Have a look at the Eco-Worthy 40A MPPT version. NS24L40 are numbers on the box. I don't think it's got fans or USB ports, unfortunately. It seems solid made, though. Check it out and compare the two. The build specs, etc. What's very nice is Eco-Worthy does have a tech support team and contact phone number located here in the States. They are a little more pricey, however they have some good discount sales. How many amps fuse should I install, and along the positive to the battery? Or along the positive to my Vtoman vs110 19 volt solar panel? Or both? Thanks

    • @THEOFFGRIDMOUNTAINHOMESTEAD
      @THEOFFGRIDMOUNTAINHOMESTEAD  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I’ve not had good results with EcoWorthy products neither have some of my friends 😞. So I can’t recommend them. YMMV though.
      what I do is buy say a 10A charge controller I put a 10A fuse/circuit breaker for cc to battery and go one gauge larger on wire than required. Less resistance/better charging and super safe. For PV to this I would say have a 100W panel rated at 5.57 amps, I put a 7.5A fuse since is next size up from 5A nominal fuse. again super safe conservatively rated fuse way more to it but this best I can do in comment 👍

    • @Hundert1
      @Hundert1 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @THEOFFGRIDMOUNTAINHOMESTEAD Thank you for the tip regarding Eco-Worthy, I won't get it. I hear from some fuses aren't an absolute must have & required. I'll put them in anyway because it isn't overkill. I guess you believe they're totally a good thing, perhaps even necessary to have installed. For both fuses, wouldn't it be playing it extra safe to use slightly lower amp fuses, so they'll blow for certain and well in time? My pv is 110 watt, 19volt, working current is 5.79amp. The short circuit current is 6.07amp. What's wrong with installing a 4amp fuse? Wouldn't that blow before the 7.5 amp fuse you recommend? Slightly lower amp fuse more guaranteed to blow before any damages, right? My solar panel is the vtoman vs110 🙏🏼 thx

    • @THEOFFGRIDMOUNTAINHOMESTEAD
      @THEOFFGRIDMOUNTAINHOMESTEAD  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yes but it when the panel is fully loaded you’ll be at 5.79 so 4 would pop. 7.5 is there to protect the wire and device more than the panel on single panel install.
      I just always fuse/protect any Chinese made products! Whether required or not! Conservatively at that!
