Woah. A merfolk deck with more than 4 merfolk in it. I was under the impression it was the personal goal of merfolk players to play as few actual merfolk as possible.
@@giancarlocafaro6734 it's actually more like Svay-Loon and I'm just bad at spelling out how to pronounce it(maybe Svee-eh-loon?) Anyway that's how Brad Nelson(who designed the card) pronounces it. Luis is definitely not pronouncing it correctly.
Modern Goblins is much better than Merfolk, especially with it's new lord. It has a combo and can play the long game. Easily the best tribal deck. Crushes merfolk too.

Was that goblins opponent just randomly clicking buttons game 2? None of the plays made any sense.
I came here to say the same thing. Pilot seemed really inexperienced.
Why are we not playing 4 caverns?
Maybe because it doesn't cast the blue part of Subtlety, Spreading Seas, Glasspool Mimic, or other blue non merfolk cards

why not use trickster on magus of the moon to use your lands?
It does not work... because of layers. Same interaction with Dress Down.

LSV, if I must... In G1 against goblins I think trickster on magus of the moon was a better line in many situations through the game

Most tribal decks is favored vs merfolk. Everything else? It's fair game for fish and they always have a shot.
Not really a good comparison of decks. Sure they're both tribal decks, but they have pretty much a totally different matchup spread.
