Hopefully, the injury bug doesn't hurt yal too bad by the end of the yr like every other SEC team. Get ready for that btw. Good game tho. You'd definitely beat my gators this yr.
As a Longhorn fan I can't bring myself to root for Oklahoma , but I've heard Boomer Sooner enough times it's kinda grown on me..... Anyway, this game was what it was, but the 'home friendly' officiating crew could have been pulled straight out of the old SWC, minus the instant replay!
@@davidcole333 Got our fingers crossed! Been a Horn's fan since Darrell Royal (Oklahoman!) was running the wishbone at Texas. Coach Sarkisian looks to be ushering in a new era for the Burnt Orange and White. Anyhow, here's to our teams joining the SEC and we'll be seeing y'all in about three weeks!
That holding call in the third or fourth quarter against Tennessee on the 40-yard bomb, became the only holding call of the entire game. The replay shows absolutely nothing nefarious going on. If Tennessee converts to a touchdown right there, then the game is effectively over, the stadium empties, and everyone turns off the TV and moves on. These kinds of calls make me wonder what's really going on. Who actually threw that flag, and when did they throw it during the play. I'd love to view that play again.
I knew Tennessee would win but I am surprised at how close the game was. Oklahoma's offense overall is trash. The defense will have to carry us this year but we will win the SEC at some point, it's what Oklahoma does. The respect will will come to. Good game Tennessee, beat Georgia!
Dude, Dane Davis let that dide run right by him. He had never seen left tackle again. He will get Nico hurt, bad. He's a 6th year senior, too. He should be man handling people. I love you, Dane...but you gotta go. Go to guard. Also, we aint beating Georgia and bama with this O-line. No way.
Three out of the five starters on the offensive line were out by the end of this game. Losing Lance heard is a big loss for that game. But, one of the two big question marks to me about Tennessee going into this season was, the depth of the offensive line and our secondary. Although untested by a great quarterback yet, the secondary looks phenomenal. But, that offensive line depth reared it's ugly head tonight and maybe the Achilles Heel if we can't stay healthy throughout the season..
Welcome to the sec sooners. Every game any team plays is the toughest game! Hope yall enjoyed playing, Texas Tech, Baylor and TCU all these years cuz those days are GONE.

In what world is 12:29 roughing the passer?? It wasn't late, and the only thing that touched that QBs head was the players hands and barely that. Should've been 25-9 TN. People who only watch the highlights talking about the refs helping the Vols would have seen them actually trying to keep OK in the game had they watched it live.
it's insane they called that. couple plays later he is slamming into people like a running back, but apparently touching the quarterback is now the same as touching the kicker. football rules have gone WAYY too far in "protecting" the quarterback. if the rules are going to be this way quarterbacks should not be allowed to run the ball.
OU 2 TDs second half, Tennessee 2 field goals. OU is the better team with Hawkins. So is OU legit or Tennessee over rated? They looked dead as well in the 4th OU welcomed them if anything cause them boys looked BEAT
That tn gameplan was super conservative don't fool yourself. OU wet the field so TEN ran alot. Just be happy Heupel wasn't petty. Up 22-3 or something like that they want the game to end fast
@@zrod6348 Heupel dialed things back in the 2nd half. His play calls became quite conservative from what I'm used to seeing. I mean, 4th and what 1 or 2 in the red zone but let's just get a field goal. This game was as much a learning lesson for the players as it was for the coaches. Heupel really showed some composure and slowed our tempo down on purpose.
When we played Oklahoma with Butch Jones coaching there was a lot of talk about “moral victories.” It’s good to be on the other side of that talk now. Feel good about your defense Oklahoma, I’ll feel good about a win.

Not gonna lie Dawkins is a way better quarterback than Arnold. Oklahoma is better than I thought they were, they have a pretty good defense when you can hold Tennessee to only 25 points. Had Dawkins been in there the entire game things would have looked a lot different at the end.
funny how they kept the drive alive on a roughing the passer call when he barely got touched, but at the same time he is able to take on 3 defenders while flying through the air. joke call, OU never should have scored a touchdown
Damn....nothing went right for the OU Offense; couldn't even catch a break from the umpire crew overturning several TDs for the Sooners. If it wasn't for the Sooners D, this game would have been a major blow out loss for OU losing by way more than 10 pts. OU Starting QB Jackson Arnold was completely awful in this game. He was never able to settle into a grove and the Vols Defense rattled him so much he played terribly that backup QB Michael Hawkins, Jr. was brought into the game and he was much more effective than Arnold. With this terrible showing by the Oklahoma Offense, it may be a long season and possibly only finishing 7-5 or 6-6 in their 1st year in the SEC.
Man OU finally has a National Championship defense without a doubt, they’re elite but offense is just a complete dumpster fire. First play OU ran really sums up the offense
That actually blew my mind, that the opening play is botched. It was pre-scheduled. How do you screw that up? But more to the point of the game, I think the offensive strategy was a bit skewed by Oklahoma. The running game was virtually abandoned, forcing one of two freshman quarterbacks to beat a top defense through the air. Just a week strategy in my opinion.
I've got no dog in this fight, but I've got to say that the officiating sure felt one-sided. Still, good game by the Vols and I think Oklahoma found their new starting QB.
I imagine Arnold will transfer. OU might have won if Hawkins started the game. I thought OU should have used the short passing game more to combat the pressure.

From a UF fan (who is usually the team playing UT in week 4-6)... WELCOME TO THE SEC OU!! You guys are about to see what we've been talking about these next few weeks. Hopefully, the injury bug doesn't hurt yal too bad by the end of the yr like every other SEC team. Get ready for that btw. Good game tho. You'd definitely beat my gators this yr.
Our players our already hurt from practice sadly lol
if only OU had the offense they usually had they would be right there competing for a title...
Ross hasn't been able to punt much, but damn what a night for him.
He was excellent. OU had a really good punter as well.
That man Ja. Thomas is a hitter.
That first quarter hit on the running back was a freaking car wreck😮
As a Longhorn fan I can't bring myself to root for Oklahoma , but I've heard Boomer Sooner enough times it's kinda grown on me..... Anyway, this game was what it was, but the 'home friendly' officiating crew could have been pulled straight out of the old SWC, minus the instant replay!
As a Sooner fan, the Longhorns are stacked this year. This is your year to win it all.
I'd love to view that play again.
appreciate you!
Best defense we've had in 15 years combined with the worst o-line of my lifetime. 😥
Congrats on reaching 600K! It just wouldn't be football season without Wheels.
Nice win for Tennessee. 👍
I knew Tennessee would win but I am surprised at how close the game was. Oklahoma's offense overall is trash. The defense will have to carry us this year but we will win the SEC at some point, it's what Oklahoma does. The respect will will come to. Good game Tennessee, beat Georgia!
Oklahoma will never win the SEC.. they might get close but they will never win the conference championship.
Now, that was a game of both sides having top-tier defense. I hope both team's defense makes statements for the rest of the season.
Thank you Wheels
Wheels with the Yankees shirt ❤🎉
Welcome to the sec sooners.
Every game any team plays is the toughest game! Hope yall enjoyed playing, Texas Tech, Baylor and TCU all these years cuz those days are GONE.
Tennessee ain’t won shit since 1998 .. so 🤫
Tennessee is 2-7 against the big 12 so relax guy. Oklahoma beat y’all 2014 and 2015. 😂
Hawkins is a freaking BEAST!!!
When your defense gets you the ball in the 5 yard red zone to get 3-7 points, you never ever fumble the ball, #1 rule of thumb *PROTECT THE FU%&IN’ BALL*
💋🏈BOOMER🏈💋
Great show, Kiddo.
May just be the highlights, however you hear Rocky Top loud and clear!!! GBO!!!
RockyFlop
Dane Davis was horrible in this game. He was the reason for those two strip fumbles. He's going to end up getting Nico or someone hurt.
Hats off to OU though they played us tough
I’m an Ok St fan…the backup QB was 100’s better than the Arnold kid. Now I hope we bench our entire offensive line in Stillwater.
High school QB plays better than Arnold. He MUST go now.
I don't think this is a reflection of how Oklahoma is going to do as a whole in the SEC, they'll be fine..
Tennessee is just back... See y'all the 3rd Saturday of October Baby! Roll Tide Roll
Remember when y’all barely beat Houston?? It’s going to be a tough fuckin season for the Sooners, and it’s only getting harder from here.
Ou fan here. If jackson starts another game somebody needs to check our coaching staff for substance abuse. Hawkins looks allot like a combination of marcus mariota and tyrod taylor.
Id like to consult other OU fans for his nickname. What we callin this man, dude might actually be our next heisman qb.
I agree✨✨
Hawkeye Hawkins😂
Hawk tuah Hawkins
That Tennessee defense is hard af
I dont wanna hear OU fans acting like they knew Arnold was trash, I was banned and flamed for calling it out after week 1.
They made a bad holding call on that 50 yard pass to Thorton as well
it's insane they called that. couple plays later he is slamming into people like a running back, but apparently touching the quarterback is now the same as touching the kicker. football rules have gone WAYY too far in "protecting" the quarterback. if the rules are going to be this way quarterbacks should not be allowed to run the ball.
Tennessee gave them a proper welcome to the SEC.
Those orange bastards look GOOD!!!
OU 2 TDs second half, Tennessee 2 field goals. OU is the better team with Hawkins. So is OU legit or Tennessee over rated? They looked dead as well in the 4th OU welcomed them if anything cause them boys looked BEAT
@@zrod6348🤡 hold that L for the real losers
That tn gameplan was super conservative don't fool yourself. OU wet the field so TEN ran alot. Just be happy Heupel wasn't petty. Up 22-3 or something like that they want the game to end fast
@@zrod6348 Heupel dialed things back in the 2nd half. His play calls became quite conservative from what I'm used to seeing. I mean, 4th and what 1 or 2 in the red zone but let's just get a field goal. This game was as much a learning lesson for the players as it was for the coaches. Heupel really showed some composure and slowed our tempo down on purpose.
If we wanna be champions #35 & 22 for Vols have to be better here out‼️‼️🧡🧡
GOOD GAME VOLS LETS GO
I agree✨✨
Nice picture

@@cravenharp5318 prob talking to me
@@cravenharp5318 nvm, talking to you
Oklahoma defense great ! Oklahoma offense is horrible !
Holding that UT offense to only 23 pts is an achievement.
I agree✨✨
Your offense isn't horrible. They just ran up on a better defense.
Oline needs work but Hawkins looks like a good qb he should of started
Good ol' Rocky Top Ooh! Rocky Top, Tennessee! 🧡🍊🏈
I’m proud of my OU sooners for the last 55 years go sooners boomer
When we played Oklahoma with Butch Jones coaching there was a lot of talk about “moral victories.” It’s good to be on the other side of that talk now. Feel good about your defense Oklahoma, I’ll feel good about a win.
Better than winning those "life championships"?
Congrats on the win.
@@drwinstonOboogi it actually was the "championship of life"...but never mind, thanks, good game! GO VOLS!
@@drwinstonOboogilol, now that's funny. And I'm a Vol fan. 😂
Jackson Arnold YOU ARE a Michigan Wolverine
Message to the rest of the SEC:
Prepare yourselves for heartbreak, and disappointment because your team is next. Heupel aint gonna have the same pity, and respect to take his foot of your teams throat like he did for Oklahoma last night by only throwing it 3 times in the second half.
Tennessee is about to fold your teams ass like a lawn chair while our defense just humiliates your offense.
Tennessee is back baby, and I said it great to be a Tennessee Vol!
GBO!
Alabama and Georgia are the only real games left for Vols.. but Alabama and Georgia are both going to absolute break this soft team
@@Southern-t9t you don't know ball if you're calling Tennessee soft
@@JMOx865 they are by far the most overrated team .. They beat up on garbage teams and think they’re ready for bama?
Tennessee is the Down syndrome team of the sec.. you haven’t been the the conference championship in almost 20 years and haven’t won one in almost 30.. were you even alive then little boy 😂
@@JMOx865lmao!!! Who’s the one who don’t know football?? Losing to Arkansas 😂
@Southern-t9t the coaching was garbage and nico had a bad game. That doesn't equate to a team being soft. They busted their ass for 60 minutes.
I'm sorry I hurt your feelings that you came back to a comment on a TH-cam video though lmfao fuckin loser
those two fumbles by Tennessee's QB were all because of their own #66. He was blindside, left tackle, on the first fumble and had let the DB right by him, second fumble he was right tackle and completely blew his block. Sheesh, watch each play the guy has roots for legs. I hope his coaches help this young man to get better
Tennessee’s defense is probably the best to ever play on that field. Imagine an “opposing” team’s defense being the best to ever play on your field. 😂
This has got to be the most idiotic homer drivel I have ever seen on the internet 😂. Congrats 😂
Do you people actually believe the stuff that comes out of your mouths?
Tennessee isn’t even in top 10 best defenses to play in their stadium 😂
You are absolutely delusional if you think Tennessees defense holds a candle to any of the amazing defenses that have played on that field.
Not gonna lie Dawkins is a way better quarterback than Arnold. Oklahoma is better than I thought they were, they have a pretty good defense when you can hold Tennessee to only 25 points. Had Dawkins been in there the entire game things would have looked a lot different at the end.
Ty u VOLS
TN play calling was too conservative. let the boys play! especially when your defense is playing lights out!
We won the game by 10 points to a top 15 opponent on the road in the SEC. That was the entire point and we accomplished it. Next.
@@patrickhorne4348 i’m from TN been to knox probably knows my name. they just fucked up parlay😂😂. TN is the team to beat 100%
Really, refs? You couldn't just GIVE the touchdown to the Hawkins kid after that summersault? 🙄🙄
Lol, no, that's not how football works. They don't just give things to people because of effort.
@us-bw6hg , some OU fans live in a fantasy world.
funny how they kept the drive alive on a roughing the passer call when he barely got touched, but at the same time he is able to take on 3 defenders while flying through the air. joke call, OU never should have scored a touchdown
True freshman QB gave Oklahoma 2 TDs in 2 quarters
In garbage time
@@ColinHadaway garbage offensive line. The Hawk played in over 2 QTs lol
Let's go wheels :)
#9 earned the job
Great vault over the player but he was far short had the guy not pushed him in the air.
I listened to this on the radio all I heard was FUMBLE
If OU had an offense to go with that defense, they would be a real tough out. GO VOLS!
LETS GOOOOOO
I've got no dog in this fight, but I've got to say that the officiating sure felt one-sided. Still, good game by the Vols and I think Oklahoma found their new starting QB.
I imagine Arnold will transfer. OU might have won if Hawkins started the game. I thought OU should have used the short passing game more to combat the pressure.
Oklahoma wasn't beating Tennessee with Michael Hawkins starting, especially with Tennessee holding OU to 36 yards on the ground, the Vols were whipping that I line all night
@@AmandaMack-ok1uv the OU offensive scheme was also bad. Not just the offensive line and QB play. Tennessee played great RPO defense and OU never adjusted. That doesn’t change with Hawkins in. The success came because OU actually played drop back pass offense.
Wheelzzzzzz!
