Omg, Bethany, what a gal?! They're probably not paying you enough, I could only imagine. How about you start a reality TV series on quilting and the drama and ladies gatekeeping folkart?! Keep up the fabulous work!
Bethany, you are a good teacher. Thank you for another wonderful tutorial. This is a good sized bag for many things. I have preschool grandchildren, and this would be good to help with keeping some of their toys together.
Thank you for the tutorial. I won this bag before the fabric line was sold in stores but I haven’t sewn it. But with this tutorial I feel like I can do it. Very thorough instructions and you showed each part as you worked on it thank you videographer.
As with the tote bag, your instructions are so clear and easy to follow. I needed a refresher on the zipper and you came through again. Thank you for your fabulous video How-To's.
Bethany love your tutorials you not only demonstrate everything thoroughly but in certain places you explain why. Thank you thank you love to watch your videos.
Thanks so much for taking us through this really fantastic project Bethany! You did an absolutely great job and I can't wait to make this bag. Too bad the cute zipper pulls are no longer available, but a color coordinated ribbon will be a sweet substitute!
Great tutorial. I save the earring after losing the pair and add a claw clasp and use as charms too. Also if using light lining I scotch guard so stains come out
I love this bag but I'm one of those that doesn't like the unfinished ends. I use some of the bits left & used them to cover the seams. Love the bag & your tutorial was great!
Thank you for this tutorial! I have been making several versions of this type of Bag because I have so many quilting "practice pieces" to use up. What do you think about adding Binding to those side seams, and then pushing the Binding to one side when you box the Corners, ...and then bind the Corner seams when you are all done?
Brittany thank you for a great tutorial I love this fabric in the bag. I would love to make one lined with a plastic liner inside for my daughter to use as a make up bag. Can you recommend a liner a plastic liner or do you think it would be too bulky for the machine
Hi Shannon - A liner in addition to the batting and lining fabric may be too bulky, but you may want to consider forgoing the batting and lining fabric in order to replace it with a waterproof fabric, such as a Polyurethane Laminate Fabric. -Michelle
Try only quilting the outside of the bag and the fusible fleece, and then add vinyl during assembly. The inside would wipe clean or it could be washed in the washing machine. Just dont put it in the dryer.
We're happy you enjoy this fun project, Tracy! The pattern for these bags does not include a lining, but you could always add one, if you desired. www.shabbyfabrics.com/free-downloads-and-video/513/ -Michelle
this was an awesome tutorial and Bethany I don't know if you're new with shabby fabrics but you do an awesome job with the tutorials. I think this is the second time I have watched one of your tutorials. I am going to order the kids and I'm wondering if they include a copy of the free pattern in the kits since my printer at this time is not working. and also a little tidbit of what I'm going to do I think for the two little tiny tabs I'm going to use excess zipper. I've done it before and it always looks really cute.
Hi Maryann! Thank you for your kind words. I've been with Shabby for a year but only started doing video tutorials a few months ago. I'll be doing a lot more from now on. 😊 Yes, the kit will include the printed pattern. -Bethany

I love that bag behind you too. Is there a pattern for that?
I keep the zipper closed and sew the top first, then use the bottom corners to open the zipper after that way it's easier to sew the top.
Great tip! ♥️ -Michelle
I love your tutorial, Bethany. Is there a lining in this bag?
It looks as if there is no lining. Does it really matter?
We're happy you enjoy this fun project, Tracy! The pattern for these bags does not include a lining, but you could always add one, if you desired. www.shabbyfabrics.com/free-downloads-and-video/513/ -Michelle
In the tutorial,...did you use fusible fleece, batting or foam? The bag seems to stand up good
We're glad you enjoy this cute bag! We did use a fusible fleece for our stabilizer with this project. Thanks so much for watching. -Michelle

Bethany, what sewing foot did you use with your Bernina on your first zipper seam? I didn’t recognize that foot.
For this project I used the 4D zipper foot, and the 20D open-toe foot. -Bethany
Thanks so much!
