    Hi Dru. Not even sure you still see comments. And I know these vids are some years old, but I’ve learned so much. I’m 59, always wanted to learn. You helped me pick out my rope, my dummy, now learning. Thank you so so much. Hoping you make some new ones. T. L.

    HUGE THANK YOU for these excellent videos !! I watched other ' Learn To Rope ' videos from other ' instructors' and couldn't quite get it . Then I found your videos and I must admit that I advanced to the ' Beginner Stage ' . I will keep practicing and one day I will send you a video of how I am progressing . I built a nice roping dummy- ( I made it out of 2x4's -- it looks pretty cool actually ) - . For now I am just using handlebars for the horns - but that will soon be replaced by my new steer head ( I ordered yesterday ) . NOTE-- I wanted to share with you that while I was building the roping dummy - my wife came out back to the shed , and was so excited because she thought I was building a table or something useful for the home . You should of seen her face when I told her what it was !! Talk about the big disappointment ! I wish I snapped a photo of that look she gave me ( that really would of been the poster of being let down ). Too Funny !!!!

    Thank you for the videos they help a lot. Being left handed do I need to find a rope that is twisted to the left or can I still use a normal rope in my left hand?

    Thank you for your video, just one quick question. When you have your rope in your hand, do you want the rope to overlap between your hand and the Honda?

    yo estoy en AZ, y es facil ayar piolas de lasar. Pero yo vivia en hermosillo de nino y estuve en mexico asta la edad de 22. Somos familia ranchera y de rodeo, y digo que si ay muchas partes para conseguir una piola. Hermosillo, general mente estando en el norte del pais, es muy facil ayar piolas. Las puedes agarar en cualquier mercado de comida para caballos, (livestock store). si eres del sur del pais, va a ser un poco mas dificil, pero procura buscar en las tiendas de caballos. 9/10 tendran.

    I was just going to ask how to get my rope swinging without figure eight. But iv drug logs etc. also is there any rope that works well in Canadian winters. Can't get one going well at all and I am wondering if it's the cold.

    Question: I am just starting to practice, using your videos. However, I have used my rope for dragging logs from the saddle, not coiling it properly, ect. and it has odd kinks and such. Is there a way to get it to reshape for a nice correct coil?

    • @drustew
      @drustew  9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      There really isn't. For the time and struggle it would cost you much less to go buy a new super soft or extra soft rope. Logging kills your rope and it will never feel correct again.

    I've brought a soft used rope will that be OK to start with? Is there much difference between X soft and soft?

    • @justicebeshears7
      @justicebeshears7 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      There’s also super soft ropes. Extra soft is good to learn with soft is good to compete with

    So is this method for building a loop practical when riding? Or is there an other trick to it when on horseback?
    Thanks.

    • @drustew
      @drustew  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. It's the same. You will just get faster and faster with it and be able to control your rope more. Remember the more you have a rope in your hand the more comfortable you will be come.

      try the horse shops. anywhere that horse tack, feed, etc are sold. they may not have the selection that you can get in the States though.
