Seems like you could also use a permanent marker pen to mark off the position of your coils.

what kind of rope do you use? and how are you doing the butterfly and roll over with that kind of rope?

An extra soft head rope. Boat kinda will do.
Kid ropes work better for tricks. I guess I figured it out with a lot of practice and a little skill. 😜
