And no there is no fake feathers out on the market. all feathers come from real animals. usually the cheap ones come from China. and stores even claim that their feathers aren't real, tho they r. so many tutorials on here with feathers. you're a champ

Hi. Great finished look. I tried to find how to attach the wings to you ( harness?) but not seeing anything listed other than your Altered Harness,link in info area... which was a dead link.
is there another link?
Also how has the middle section held up after multiple times of being folded/bent to store them? My store bought ones always break down at that area. Do you have a tip to make that stronger?

+MelaniePortland I never folded them or bent them to store it. The middle section did drop eventually after wearing it a lot but it was just gravity. You'll need to use stronger wire to keep it up. I redid the wings 3 times and each time the harness changed. So in the original corset video, the altered harness video and my final articulating wing video there is a different way to attach the wings.
Axceleration Thank you. What size/strength of wore do you recommend now then for your frame including mid back section? Is there a link to your best "attachment" or harness method? Any helpful links or tips with your now favored method?
Also JUST saw something I didn't 1st time in this. Garden wire, spray painted white placed down fabric feathers. I didn't catch purpose of those lil wires (other than if to emulate a feather's mid section) & does wire face down to fabric base or face outward/is seen & where paint can scratch off?

just a question, might sound stupid. if i want the top part of the wings to be more poofy could i use coffee filters?

Would it be ok to use fabric instead of cardboard to make the wings lighter? Would that still work?
It may work, but u would probably want stronger wire. The cardboard gives the wings alot of stability it seems-so fabric may not give enough support. Personally I wouldn't worry about the cardboard being too heavy since its not that heavy in the first place. Good luck :)

I have a question, how long did this take? I have a month to make a costume for Supanova
Cutting the feathers took the most time. I made the entire frame up to covering it in felt in 1 day and flirting the feathers on only took ah hour or two. If you can find a quicker way to make feathers you could definitely make it in a month

can i use 3 mm garden wire to make this stuff with real feathers？
Test the weight of all the feathers. Real feathers can end up being heavy. Weird i know. Just make sure 3mm wire will have enough strength to hold them.

+Sid Stevens i dont remember. this was like 2 years ago sorry. it really depends on how big the feathers are...how many you want of each size...or if you put more or less than what it did. theres a lot of variables. so start with 1-2 yards and get more if you need it

No. Cardboard makes it more stable. Skipping it will make your wings much more flimsy and likely to fall apart

Does anyone know whats material is made the wings feathers?
The feathers are made out of fabric. Why did you ask this on both my tutorials? All materials i use are always listed in the description as well as me mentioning what i use in the video itself.
