This is what they want you to believe. And with good reason. But the whole terrorist narrative is a double-edged sword. They use fear to control the population. And most terrorism is state sponsored. I refuse to live my life in fear any way you cut it.

@@GH-oi2jfoh it absolutely still is in the US too.
The pocket knife I always keep in my backpack got past US security on accident, I had forgotten to take it out before getting to the airport. German security caught it when I went through for connecting flights.
US airport security is still a joke unfortunately.

They are rare but seem plentiful with copious media coverage. There were ~89 stowaway incidents in 2011 (earliest available data). Or about one every 4 days. They're rare but not unheard of.
As with anything though the more media coverage the more it may seem like the world is ending. Even though it's nothing new.

Maybe not. Some people have no idea how a commercial aircraft works. Maybe they paid someone in baggage handling to get into the wheel well not know that it’s not pressurized , or maybe they were lied to by the smugglers. What ever way it happened is tragic , but it needs to be investigated and prevented from happening again because terrorists will exploit this weakness

There are usually people watching airplanes land and take off so I'm assuming the amount of unknown bodies is very small or zero. If bodies fall on a building or something it gets found and forensic can tell it fell from high up. Some airports release landing gear over bodies of waters or airports surrounded by swamp land but still there are cameras and air control looking at planes. It's assume that if something large fell off the plane it would be cause of concern.

This likely occurred in Kingston, Jamaica. The plane "started its day" there means it was most likely parked overnight there, and there would be times it was completely unattended. FAA and every airline should put out a bulletin requiring enhanced preflight inspections of the landing gear bays. If two people can smuggle themselves into the landing gear bays undetected, then one person could even more easily smuggle a bomb into the landing gear bay undetected.

From TSA to ground crew, all of them are to be blamed for this breach of security. The ground crew(GC) and pilot do a 360° walk of the aircraft within 10mins after arrival. The departing pilot usually does his own 360° before boarding. However, the GC does the final 360° walk after loading the bags and pulling all equipment from the aircraft. And we all know a lot can happen in a minute, then what about 10? So the hideout very well happened AFTER the "departure" pilot did his 360° because GC basically walks around, not thoroughly. The Pilots are usually the ones that bend down and look in all those little places, they do a thorough check around the aircraft, not GC. So I conclude that it happened after the pilot's 360°. GC and all other Securities are to blame.
