I started to tear up for no reason at all when Alastair started talking about your first date at PF Chang’s, it takes me all the way back to your boy friend’s tag vlog and I remember how Zach was obsessed with Alastair’s booty back then, 😂. You guys have come a long way and I am beyond grateful to have witnessed such a beautiful journey with you guys. Happy Anniversary to my favourite couple on earth. ❤

I lived in New York for 6 months and it was the best time of my life. I eventually moved away for peace and space. I loved living there but the struggle is real and the summer heat is bad (smelly trash and hot-moments, no AC in stations, waiting for subways). You will appreciate NYC when you leave it so hence many NYC residents go out on short trips to Finger Lakes, Boston, Providence and Philly. NYC is a really small community where you will find whatever you want if you search for it. Grab ahold to get what you want, it won't fall onto your lap. I learned to: Downsize and to live with less. I found myself to be more assertive and have an opinion which NYC will make you have one. Whatever you choose, there is no wrong decision.

As a former New Yorker, I was born and raised there (30 years)… it really is a great city. So much to do at any time of the day… it is just so expensive… if I was you guys I would live in NJ, across the river from Manhattan… maybe jersey city or Bayonne it is much cheaper.

I loved TLM. The main actors did phenomenal. Halee was an incredible Ariel. I liked the added depth to Eric's character.
The one thing I was SURE about while watching it that didn't pan out was that Eric's adoptive mom would end up actually being Ariel's mom who ran away to the surface.

Happy Anniversary gents. New York is a big change. The husband and I did that, from Austin, Texas, to Manhattan. I loved it and he loved it. Recognize that living in NYC is either not like visiting for a week or two or astonishingly expensive. The content creator might make it more manageable. That said we returned to ATX after just over 2 years.

Discussing where to live, vs. Start a family………think in terms of WHERE you want to raise healthy ( physically, but most importantly, MENTALLY for the children. In terms of providing them as well grounded, awesome. I’m Canadian from a capital city, and came from nothing (financially speaking……but your family will reflect on the childhood in terms of the brook trout that they pulled from a stream…….or the memories of being around/learning how to ride). Those are the precious memories ❤❤
I think that you will be AMAZING parents but it’s important at this juncture to set a realistic plan for you and your children)

Every now and than I head down to NYC to destress (which it weird). Plus there a lot to do if you like hiking, the Adirondacks is the best to go. The fall is my favorite time of the year, seeing the changing the leaves and beautiful sunset, hot chocolate love it. Also Alastair. I randomly discovered your channel today while my husband's and my daughter was at school in our suburb outside of NYC. From a former aspiring gay dad to a current one: Something to keep in mind is what kind of example do you want to set for your (future) kid/s? I asked myself that question regarding my career a couple years ago, which finally gave me the courage to pursue my dream instead of wondering "What if?" By the way, my husband and I lived together in NYC for 17 years and with our daughter for 2--we just freaked out about pre-school and Kindergarten, which prompted our move 15 miles outside the city. Good luck with your decision and enjoy the adventure, whatever may come.

Hey guys - you could do BOTH. Buy your place where you want, rent it out, and still spend time in New York. Maybe? I’m really proud of you guys Alistair amd Zach. You’ve made a wise choice in each other, and actually accidentally seeing both of you in videos from years ago when you didn’t know each other, I think. You’ve both stuck to your principles, and have found the right guy and married. Love, commitment, marriage and monogamy and forging a life together. Too many people think gay community can be promiscuous, so it is refreshing to see you both (and quite a few others on TH-cam) commit to each other and enjoy a fulfilling life, dreams, and happiness together. Thank you for using TH-cam to show people (actually of any persuasion), that all is possible. Your coming out was not a great experience for you Alistair, and quite different from Zach’s. I just think it is amazing and wonderful that you found each other! Best wishes to both of you and I know you will have great success together.

this episode was crazy heavy toward the end when you guys had different expectation for the future. I always feel like Zack is more about kid and family while Alastiar is about adventure life. I hope u guys can come to a common ground and work this out, don't let it slide or it may become regrets later on and finally explodes. To be fair, i am 100% with Zack but then again you can see why Alastiar wants to experience new things, he was in the army for a long time after all.

Your option to settle down isn't going anywhere and there's no rush, I think if I was you I'd find more fulfillment in being a bit adventurous and pursuing passions while you're young and not tied down anywhere. You can always settle down later, it's always an option when you're older, you're both really young you have plenty of time. I think the memories you'll make on your adventures will be worth it.

From the peanut gallery--someone who has 59+ trips around that big bright ball in the sky--you're still young. Experience life! Take adventures and explore what can be. Change can be scary, looking forward can be so blinding...but few people, when on the other side of an adventure, declare that the adventure was a mistake. The lessons learned, the growing into who the adventure shapes you into...those are all amazing outcomes that can not be overvalued.

NYC is tough as an outsider. It's a lot to just relearn how to live in a city without a vehicle and because you don't have a car you have to shop differently. Costco ain't an option without a cab or renting a car. Then there's the sticker shock of what you get when you rent or even get a beer. Going out to eat is expensive not anything like living in El Paso. Yeah, it's fun when you visit for a few days but living there is very different.
I used to travel to NYC almost weekly for work and because of where I lived it took almost as long to fly and get into the city that it was almost faster to drive. No matter fly, drive or Amtrak you're talking close to 5 or 6 hours or more if you encounter problems. And if you had airline delays which were common because of being in a puddle jumper it could be exhausting.
Anyway, NYC post COVID is much less happening and people are moving out but prices aren't dropping.
The hardest part for me was finding someone to do things with, and I was going in the late 90's, in the evenings because who or where do you find them? People are conversational and somewhat friendly but not looking to hang out.
The things you have access to where you live now are probably much easier to access. Things that require land like bowling or mini golf are not things that are easy to profit from in NYC because of the rent. I'm not saying that they don't exist somewhere but probably like require a trip to Coney or Long Island or into Newark NJ. I found it frustrating to find places to eat. You think that there would be a lot of restaurants and maybe depending if you're in the theatre district. But I often stayed down in the financial district and everything shut down like after the markets closed.
My advice would be to go by yourself for a month and see how you feel about it because your partner is still in the service correct? So you have to be comfortable doing it on your own.

You guys are missing out Flix Brewhouse is the movie theater to be at. Westside of town, you won't regret it.

When they started talking about New York, all I could think about was Stevie's emotional monologue to David in Schitt's Creek. What's so special about NY, when all that you love is in front of you? (or something like that lol)
That's why I'm more inclined to the "find the place where you are at peace and quiet" than the high stakes, minimal gratification thing.

Wow, Zach & Alastair in a throuple with The Big Apple. I would watch that! I still haven't seen the live action Little Mermaid (and refuse to watch any leaks that'll spoil it for me - I'm pretending I didn't hear that bit about King Triton as it is! 😱) but I'm glad to hear it held up as it's also my favorite Disney. Hercules would probably make a great live action too, come to think of it. I'd definitely be excited for that, as I'm sure would the baby gays for obvious reasons. 😁 Lastly, you only live once, Zach. Alastair's right IMHO. Give NY a bash, even if it's just for a year. It'll be great for you guys as individuals and as a couple. Put down roots and start a family thereafter. Happy anniversary!

Sounds like Alastair wants some excitement once he’s done with the super structured military, and think of settling with a family later. Zach has moved with you a number of times and would like to settle down with you and a family. You are both young and are sure to work this out! Love you both❤️

Wow, it was great that you two were talking about how Zach would be able to network with other creatives in New York and make all sorts of projects. I do think it's great that you live in an era where the creatives can meet online as well. I wonder if Zach would make an online show (or two) where he asks his friends who currently live in New York about how they moved there: what the experience was like, how did they handle any problems that they encountered, maybe have a sequence entitled 'Ten Things You Need to Know Before Moving to NY'...stuff like that 😁😉😆

As someone who has traveled all over the country and lived in various places … I don’t think you’ll end up regretting any decision you make. Also, I’d recommend looking into central/upstate NY. You’re close to NYC, in a progressive area with a lot of great schools for families.

Zach, If you are adamant about NYC, I'd give Philly a chance. It's similar to NY with some tall buildings, subway, walkable.. but affordable. Plus, Philly is a 2 hour bus ride to NYC for $10. And a 3 hour bus ride to DC.
