This helped me so much honestly… The first day I went to my ballet class the teacher went rushing through everything and all I could do was look at the other student but now I know my moves and I watch this video everyday!!

You're so welcome, I'm glad it was helpful! There are indeed lots of different names for all of these steps and it can be so confusing. If you haven't already checked out the video on all the body directions, you might enjoy that one too! th-cam.com/video/w7RcibIszhk/w-d-xo.html
This video is helping so much!! I just took my first class and it was not very easy. I was the only adult with absolutely no dance experience at all while everyone else had prior experience. I was basically thrown into it and had to do my best to follow along. This is a great refresher for everything we went over. I was looking for a video exactly like this and I’m so happy I did. I will continue practicing to this video. Thank you so much ❤️
absolutely superb video! So very helpful to me, and soothing too! You are a gifted instructor and artist. Thank you for providing this wonderful resource. Bisous!
This is a great video! However, I got very concerned looks from one of my current Vaganova teachers when attempting a Balanchine-style frappè with a flexed foot, learned many years earlier! :-)
As long as we remember to point our toes!! It's fun to learn all the actual definitions, but colloquially, it's also awesome to just associate those words together to keep building that memory .... "tendu = don't forget to point!!!" Happy dancing!! :)
I was thinking the same thing and it actually means that as well, it's basically the same thing I found out while looking it up after watching this lol.
Hi do you have any suggestions or videos on the very basic turns? I’ve been taking private dance classes for a while and I’m not understanding how to turn and transition. I don’t know if it’s me or if it’s the cues . For instance, I feel like I am not able to rotate my body, I feel like I’m going to fall and my turns are sloppy. When I do the stationary exercises which is supposed to help but it’s not helping me at all. For the majority of the times I’m fine doing the stationary exercise sbut when it comes to body shifting, transitions and turns I am no good at all. If there’s any suggestions or videos I would be interested. Thank you!
