It's so nice to see that you had so many 5 star reads this year! There are no words for how much I love The Infernal Devices Trilogy! It's one of those series that I know will stick with me forever. And Carissa Broadbent is one of the best authors I discovered this year! She's probably the closest to SJM (who is my forever favorite/gold standard) that I've been able to find.

I think you will love Sanderson's Tress of The Emerald Sea and Yumi and The Nightmare Painter (aka secret projects 1 and 3). Yumi managed to find a spot in my favorite books of all time list. Also, I reread The Infernal Devices in the beginning of the year and immediately after read The Last Hours to help my heart heal a bit from the end of Clockwork Princess, and following Will and Tessa's children was delightful, I couldn't recommend that reading order more. Ps: thank you for getting me into Carissa Broadbent, every single one I read was perfection.
Girl... 6 scorched roses is my favorite!!! I actually read this novella first prior to A serpent and the wings of night , Because before this I never read vampire romances since Twilight, and I'm the odd person that didn't liked the twilight series and because of that, It soured my taste for anything in that genre. Until 6 scorched Roses. I love the dynamic of Vale and Lilith's story and the world building. After the novella I greedily ate up the next 3 books! Can't wait for Mische's story!

What my 5 star books have taught me this year is that I gravitate toward reading series but I always love the first book the most. If I don’t like the first book, I tend to not like the series.
Fourth Wing was a 5 star for me too, I am a little nervous about Iron Flame, sometimes the 2nd book in a series isn’t as good but we’ll see. I also absolutely loved The Friend Zone by Abby Jimenez. I know that one is hit or miss with a lot of people, but I loved how she did the endometriosis/infertility rep in it, and having the same issues it’s nice to see it on page in a book. And my third choice is Powerless because Theo! That’s it just Theo 😊 This was a great video!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Hey Rachel, half way through Fear the Flames and what a ride! It took me a couple of chapters to get into to it but now I can't stop reading it. Thank you! Great intro into this genre. If I can recommend one book for you, it is a romance but in a whole different way. It's The Blue Castle by L.M. Montgomery. It's hard to describe but it hits on so many different levels. One of my favourites of all time!
I have a question 😅 I’m on the third mortal instrument book and it’s very average so I’m excited to get into the infernal devices soon! But when are you supposed to read the last three MI? I don’t really want to 😂
My favourite books of the year so far are Belladonna by Adalyn Grace (historical mystery meets fantasy romance with death personified) and A Curious Beginning by Deanna Raybourn, book one in the Veronica Speedwell series (historical mystery with the slowest and burniest slow burn romance)
It’s so hard to pick only 3 lol so far I have had a pretty good reading year but definitely Project Hail Mary by Andy weir , the four winds by Kristin Hannah , Forever Boy : a mother’s memoir of autism and finding joy by Kate Swenson , hooked by Emily mcintire , things we never got over my Lucy score ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

haha so technically the authors suggested resding order is the first 3 MI, then TID, then the last 3 MI.
