I unfortunately had a pair of Zeiss Conquest HD 10X42 binoculars stolen from my garage. They were wonderful binoculars. After watching this review I think Swarovski does it just a little bit better. I think I will replace my Zeiss binos with these. Thank you for the straight forward review. It was a perfect “walk around” review.

Go with the 15x56. The light gathering is amazing and the higher power truly supplants the need for a spotting scope. The optical quality of the SLC is indiscernible compared to the EL or NL Pure. They are all equally great but the cost difference is significant.

Can you explain the advantage/disadvantage of the different magnifications Swarovski have on offer as I have a pair of Swaro 8X42 and wondered if there would be an advantage in getting the 10X50 models

The higher up you go in terms of quality, the more and more you have to pay for smaller and smaller improvements. However, i am not sure what you mean by better. The SLC may be better in some areas, but likewise the Maven's have their strengths as well and so maybe seen by some as better than the SLC in other areas.

Everyone has their personal preferences and I actually think it is important to choose a binocular that you like the look of as this really does help ensure you enjoy using them. Do you have any other binocular in mind that you do like, in term of color and shape?

You're missing the most important part of your demo which is the object view of the binocular.

so I'm down to 2 binos. This or the Maven B.2 11x45? I plan on using them handheld only. Are the SLC that much better for the price???

Swaros often are plain looking, if you want style try Leica. But in my opinon looks are secondary in a bin.
