The "horn" sounds like a steam locomotive whistle. Then again, there were steam locomotives with air horns like Southern Pacific, the 4449 has one. The WK&S in Kempton has an little green center cab diesel which has a horn and a whistle. New Haven had diesels with air whistles but eventually they were replaced with air horns because the horns were louder.

Yes it definitely does; it’s a Hancock air whistle. Different tune than the one at Kempton but still the same idea
Are they going to ever fix the steam engine?
They are currently running a fundraiser to complete the work needed to renew 17s boiler; it’ll be back in the future
