Merry Christmas everyone! 😅 Apologies for the late special but that's okay, it's apart of the charm of the channel now haha! Mike wrote this for me kindly for the Christmas season, and it is such a treat. It's always so fun to see more of Spamcan and Edward interacting. Almost like a faux sequel to Running on The Spot! This was a really nice video to make, I'm really happy with how it came out. The colors in this especially called out to me. I really hope you guys enjoy some of the updated models we will get to see more of in the upcoming videos; this and the next video will feature Edward! I learned how to export engines for Trainz, so progress on main stories will be coming at a much faster rate. MASSIVE Shout out to MayC for making the thumbnail for the video, they did such a great job with it, it's based off of a sketch from SteamySudric! I will be posting a community post about the current plan for the Video Workshop in 2024, nothing crazy, just some one off stories and other projects I've been wanting to do! Hope you all enjoy!

I absolutely love Spamcam's characterization in this series and how he's fated to return to Sodor and every time he makes a fool of himself.

Everyone’s talking about spamcan’s characterization, but can we take a minute to talk about Gordon’s? Gordon, despite being furious at spamcan for delaying his express, still helps him, all because Edward put in a good word for him. I think that really goes to show how much Gordon has come to respect Edward, that he willing to help spamcan of all engines, just because of Edward. And all this without losing his pompous personality. Incredible characterization, at least to me since Gordon is my favorite.
That blasted Spamcan is practically the Squidward of Sodor.
Yeah! And Thomas and Percy are like SpongeBob and Patrick.
And to an extent, Spamcan’s the Mr. Curry of Sodor.

I like how Gordon, a character who cares deeply about their reputation, "naturally" agrees to keep Spamcan's secret about his gratitude, as he also has a reputation of his own.

This sure was a good sequel to Running On The Spot. I think Spamcan is capable of changing some of his ways eventually thanks to his constant visits to Sodor.
Eh, he's still himself. He did help Edward out of fear of being reprimanded by Sir Topham Hatt.
The back-and-forth between Spamcan and the signal man was just pure gold lmao!

Amazing stories, amazing characters and amazing animation. No matter how far the original show falls the dedicated fandom will keep the spirt of Awdry, Mitten and Alcroft alive.

Deserved. Honestly deserved. Always a pleasure seeing such amazing Thomas content like this especially with how the show went. I absolutely loved Gordon's expression and words when he pulled up beside Spamcan. I half expected him to come up laughing at seeing him in such a state but he was still furious about the delay earlier that night, only really softening his approach after Edward told him what he did to help.
Had Edward not said anything or had Spamcan not needed to help him, Gordon would've just been plain furious. 10/10
If I had a nickel for every Spamcan and Edward story, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice.
My head canon at this point is that SpamCan is so old fashioned and out of date on the mainland that he is constantly chosen for the Sodor runs. Or who knows maybe the mainland is trying to get rid of him by sending him there who knows.

Very nice story, every time you bring spamcan onto the scene always makes it a good one, also Edwards red tender under linning and side frames are a very nice visual change.

That whole scene with the signalman made me cackle for some reason, I thought it was the funniest thing I'd ever seen 😂

Spamcan: Well I just dragged your old iron all the way to the top station and nothing went wrong. So I didn’t complain for my fitter, didn’t I?!
That was a very good story. Spamcan can really be a pain. But this time, for once, he did something right to help Edward, even if it did make him feel uneasy. I love the sound of him breaking down and Gordon teasing him at the end. This was a great belated Christmas video 😀.

This was a pleasant "christmas-in-january" video that definitely made my day for my break. The characterization of SpamCan was accurate as well as the holiday spirit, giving giving some good graces that were quite in character for all three engines.
These stories really make me enjoy Spamcan as a character.
So Spamcan is starting to warm up to Sodor. Maybe in a year or 10, he'll finally enjoy his visits to the island 😜
Another fantastic job Carson! Ever since Mike released this story and since you adapted running on the spot almost 2 years ago it was only fitting that you adopted the sequel to that story. I loved hearing some of the themes in this, like the beginning theme from Christmas number one. And the ending Gordon theme from Dan's story Christmas on the snow trains it fits the scene perfectly. Can't wait to see what other stuff you have in store for this year.

This was the best adaptation, the story and the visual were just amazing! The nod to Tardisrescues "Christmas on the slow trains" with the music as Gordon tows Spamcan away with the mainland station from "The beginning of the End" was just a marvelous reference.
What a great (late) Christmas story with D199 (Spamcam).
It's nice to see him get a bit of a redemption here. And Edward and Gordon helped him on that for the holidays.

I absolutely loved this story! I still don’t like Spamcan but seeing him do a good deed for Edward feels refreshing. And I enjoyed seeing how Edward can befriend any engine of any nature too!

Man, Spamcan got NO appearances in the actual show, but it really feels like you're making up for that with him being a common sight in your videos. Now if only D261 got as much attention from you, that would REALLY be something! Anyway, a mighty fine holiday special as usual, your scene coordination never ceases to amaze me!

This was good story, especially for spamcan, Edward and Gordon. Also the rhyming “Gordon in concentration, Spamcan in contemplation” genius word play. Not to mention the rumble to thunder as metaphor of the oncoming storm when Gordon angry.
Also it’s funny how D199 was engine who wanted to be on sodor to replace the steam engines with D7101, now he wishes never been to that rotten island in his mind.
This is brilliant animated story, well done Carson.

I just rewatched what is it running on the spot really feels like this guy is appearing every time(ofc he isn't) its like a running sitcom gag I find it amusing.

Well, Carson, after watching your Christmas special, I have to say that it was another great video you put together and the story was pretty good as well with it revolving around Spamcan's return to Sodor as he berates Edward and Gordon and he tries to cause mischief by going onto Gordon's line, but he ends up helping Edward before his air intake is blocked and Gordon pulls him and his Express to the station before telling Spamcan that he expects some leverage when he returns. All-in-all, in the end, bud, this was a great video you put together and I look forward to seeing what you have planned for Richard and the rest of the Thomas gang in 2024, so keep up the great work!

It’s truly gets better with every video. The lighting, models, audio, everything. Spamcam is someone who was only used as a story tool in the railway series and you’ve turned him into such a funny character. You probably get this a lot but have you ever thought about making videos for other neglected characters? There are so many other characters who deserve the love Spamcam has gotten in recent times.

That was an astounding sequel seeing spamcan’s characterization is somewhat lightning up though I don’t blame him. I know he doesn’t want to return to solo as much but what choice does he have if he is sent back? When he doesn’t want to go back, he has no choice at all. He’s a diesel after all, I like to see a prequel where bear knocks some sense into him more.

A bit late for a Christmas Story - but most adequate! It serves as it does! We - of course - are familiar with D199's ' Sodor phobia' Previous stories involving him have always produced this 'reluctance' in him. Murdock upsetting him also serves as well. Arriving ahead of time with the Express also provided ' grist ' to D199! Spamcan has stuck with him. He'll be forever known as that. Ever since Super Rescue. When a Signalman lost patience with him and threatened to use a certain, kitchen implement on him! Stuck is and stuck was! I am given to think! Oh well!!
Looks like Spamcan got the best gift of all gift.

I really like this Carson. The dynamic between Spamcan., Edward, and Gordon was all i expected to be. Gordon was really bold in this one, but put aside his quarrels and help Spam out. It's funny at the end when Gordon says he'll need leverage the next time Spamcan comes back to the island 😂😂😂. Well done Carson and I hope you'll make more stories soon. Happy belated New Year.
