Checking out frats. I'm age 21 and did gymnastics for 14 years. I got severely beat up at age 15 by older athletes who said they got tired of me training my abs all the time.They said they wanted to target my "gymnast abs." I lasted a long time but they eventually beat the fuck out of me. But I took their punches very well and started to train to take punches. Frats---I had applied to the U of Illinois hoping to compete at gymnastics under Olympian men's head coach. But I had changed my training and grew a lot of muscle. But I was eager to visit the U of I. I also wanted to show off how tough gymnasts are--stupid thing. I"m from Ukraine and adopted and brought to rural USA. And I had never heard of fraternities. I came to my overnight college visit and was spotted by some guys in t-shirts with Greek letters. They saw me shirtless doing hanging leg raises and surrounded me asking me lots of questions. They showed me around the rec center--the ARC--and we came to a room called Combat Room. One of the frat guys was in the boxing club and I met some of his friends. All frat guys. They were very interested in my extremely muscular abdominals. I told them that I can take lots of hard punches. They took me to a racketball court. I let them put me in a full nelson and they had fun landing hard punches. They then invited me to their frat house and would feed me food. So I didn't know about frat houses. I saw a great house and met a lot of frat guys. I was age 17 and 1 frat guy told me to take off my shirt. He pointed to how red my abs were and asked me if I would let some of the other brothers throw punches. I felt I had no choice. I didn't know any of these guys but was all in. I ended up getting pretty beat up but they knew I was a high schooler visiting. But a few guys I think were too much into punching me. That is my experience with frats. I had a great time. But where my head was in high school I think living in a frat house would have been disastrous. I would have let them "train" me to take punches too off. I am into showing off and guys have taken advantage of that. I hope your experience will be good if you join.
Sorry you had to got thru that getting beat up by older athletes. Where did that happen in the gym? Also what state did you go to college ?
@@SeptemberObituary I got beat up at our high school by the sports fields where we have pull up bars. It was a summer night and I did bar workouts there many evenings. Almost always alone. I didn't go on to college as I left gymnastics when I graduated high school. I applied to the U of Illinois. Great school and wanted to compete in gymnastics under Justin Spring. I ended up at a community college and then spring of my 1st year the pandemic closed things down. I never went back. I now work in construction.
