I'm building a 7,but have been watching Ratchet since his early days to keep my motivation up. I honestly thought this was his video at first. The guy is a perfectionist and did an AMAZING job with his build series. I picked up many tips that will translate over to my own build.
Im very interested in the Tornado kit. This year is the 60th year reunion for the Gt40 at the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix. You guys should bring a pair of cars to the event. You might even get a few orders from costumers there!!!! 👍👍👍👍
I believe John Wyer built some aluminum monocoques for his GT-40 Gulf Team Cars. Certainly when they were raced as Mirages with the rounded roofs. These were not related to the DFV-powered cars. Maybe the '68 and '69 LeMans winners had the aluminum chassis? The car Miles was killed in was a J-Car, or GTP (later it became the Mk IV) which used an aluminum/honeycomb material for its monocoque chassis.
The Lola GT was an aluminum monocoque and Lola’s specs called for the same. Ford bosses insisted on mild steel. 😫 Gord in Toronto, RCR GT40 ( aluminum 😎 ) off to be painted.
£60k sounds like a bargain, although I wouldn't expect to get anywhere in good time, given that every time you stop you'll be engaged in conversation by men and boys.
I was hoping you would cover the tornado stand. Absolutely fantastic video and Andrews car looks stunning. Thank you Trevor.
Another interesting video those cars really are special. Well done guys

Andrew's car is utterly stunning.
Both cars are fantastic.

If its a stock 302, then it's going to be needing a serious camshaft swap. It has to be a lumpy racecar sounding beast.
5.7L is a 350.
5.0L is a 302.
60k is very reasonable for a race car. The engine would need an upgrade to a stroked 351 to 427.
So as long as it looks like a GT40 it's a GT40? OK.
That much money and you still need to trim the door to fit :(
Why do you think that?
