@@sudhanshpandey I think the idea is they host it at last week of summer so people can enjoy their summer and still compete because they most likely would have done whatever by then.
I agree that it's unfortunate though that dancers have to pick and choose.
I absolutely love fusion concept so much! As a freestyle dancer it’s so awesome seeing this type of competition be put on such a great platform. So, thank you stance for creating, supporting, and promoting such an amazing event! That being said, it was hard for me to really enjoy this years comp how I’ve loved the past years. Incredibly underwhelming and it seems that all the dancers are just doing choreo or crowd work. Not trying to hate on it but it gets so repetitive where you can predict that every dancer is going to do choreo every round. It’s supposed to be a freestyle dance competition, not a choreo competition in my perspective. Love to all the dancers that went so hard and I hope to see freestyle dance reach bigger audiences and continue to evolve and thrive
Yeah i don't really like the choreos, for some reason it gives me cringe. Idk i think all of them are top tier dancers in general, but when it comes to creating a choreo, they look like an average dancers. (Sorry for my english btw, i speak spanish)
the crowd stuff is rampant since some years now, its really annoying, it breaks the very concept of the battle

Junior Yudat legit carried his duo to the quarter finals... Man's was an absolute monster. When he came out with the last Call ticket the fear factor was real. He didn't have the best partner so they weren't the best duo... But he was the best dancer of that entire event🤯

I think they should be held on different days/months because there are dancers who probably want to participate in both which would only make both competitions greater.
SDF seems more "dancing" to me though (compared to this highlight), not watched FC this year yet so I might be wrong!!
@@leprincedespoetes lol what are you talking about? SDF hip hop was unbelievably stacked this year, they had over 300 people show up for preselection. Bouboo, Rochka, Icee, Dykens, Sam Yudat, Fabbreezy, Laura Nala, FrankyDee, D. Soraki etc. Half the people at fusion concepts are not even hip hop dancers, they do elektro, krump, breaking etc. They would not even be able to compete at SDF
I went to both and I can say that fusion concept was way more hype in regards to hip hop/freestyle.
is it me or was 8:15 kinda lame? killian even pointed it out. judging by the production it's a rileyvi track so they definitely knew the song and then from there you just slice on count to infinite crowd hype
rubix is dope but it feels like fusion concept rewards so much that's going wrong with dance now

on 7:53 and 7:57 he tried it twice and even with those failed attempts he made it go over your heads because he didnt make it obvious
that 8:15 was easy to do but almost no dancers can display that much showmanship as he does

@@mylesprospero8105 i just didnt think slicing on a literal sword slice sound effect was an interesting interpretation of the music especially because kuty wasnt really doing much of anything but im just a viewer. i caught the first one but not the second one - you have a better eye than me.
how i was taught in the scene growing up is that if someone tries the same concept multiple times in a round and cant get it it's a tweak and a round loss as long their opp calls it out

But then he kept doing it with weak build up and not dancing for a weak kill off imo, and hell kuty in the back dancing is not syncing with rubix. This is coming from a big rubix and kuty fan

this highlight shit is cool but i feel like a lot of newer people and non-dancers get educated about the culture through "hype moment" clips instead of developing for themselves an understanding of what constitutes a good round within a battle. rubix had far more interesting rounds than this one.
half of these rounds were people just jumping into the crowd and forcing beatkills simply because that shit looks good for YT and tiktok and it's not a coincidence those are the ones that stance picked for getting view count.
dance is as much about teaching and actually giving something as it is about entertaining and FC really messed up the balance this year. someone like akamz for example who is one of my absolute favorite dancers just constantly has some stunt in half his rounds and over time it just takes away from the reality of him being an insanely gifted dancer

Lá é um evento de hip hop de verdade, tirando os resultados um pouco duvidosos em algumas ocasiões, lá é um ótimo evento. Eu sinto falta do Fusion Concept padrão, onde tu podia ver toda qualidade do dançarino. Hoje em é dia puro hype pra plateia, os caras mal dançam pois estão é fazendo show pro público.
