Rubix be getting away with a lot of mid. I fear youngsters will pick the high energy and theatrics from his style, thinking that is the measure of a great dancer. I respect him for giving 100% each and every time but fundamentally I think hip hop is being watered down by this new wave.
Rubix's version last year was actually better than his version now, his flow is completely different from what it used to be, I get that he wants to be different from everyone but sometimes simplicity and sticking to the fundamentals is key. These days I see him more of a performer than a dancer but I'm proud and have a lot of respect for him because I think he's trying to evolve his style, maybe a year or two from now he'll find what he's trying to find in his style
Other dudes dance boring. Nothing to look up to if I don't ant to learn to dance. Why would I want to mold myself after boring dancers. How dare niggas battl rubix and try to pop lock th whole routine
There are many things to see here... Rubix, from what I see, made gestures or had an attitude that the judges will not have liked. I did not see Franky do anything spectacular, Majid was cool, he was good, NOW ROCHKA, well I tell you that Rochka, if he wants and can, would send them both home by himself.
Majid will ALWAYS shine in hip-hop competitions it seems because his foundation is strong and the musicality is top tier. I feel like Rubix sometimes gets too involved with the acrobatics and it hurts him in hip-hop competitions. In all-styles/freestyle battles it works IMO, but in these settings it hurts him. That being said, this should have went to a bonus round, it was pretty even. I can see why Majid and Franky Dee took the W though.
Majid fully developed his style for a long time now, rubix is exploring more ways to define his style he's young and a monster at that he will get there one day and create a masterpiece of a style
It's mostly random but to some extent dancers have heard these songs. The dance community is both large and small so if you're a dancer who's involved in the battle scene you've probably freestyled to some of these songs randomly.
The battle reminded me 2014. Missed Waydi a lot mate!
Majid went off hard on that first round....love the way Franky Dee was all about love after Rubix called them off
