On top of the double yellow for Dalot a season ago. His percentage of decisions against Arsenal & Man Utd are stark, and those for both clubs are also next to non-existent. Because of the impact Virgil had for Liverpool that's why. He totally changed the entire defensive structure with one sighing, Liverpool were not already a great team, he elevated them to such. Also saying "He cost £68m less" shows your total lack of understanding of how inflation and the Premier League tax works. The £7m Man Utd paid in 2005 to a cash strapped Spartak Moscow would now be £12m with inflation, VVD was also signed from another Premier League club which also adds a ton of cash on top. If Liverpool had signed him from Celtic he would have been £13m which puts him roughly the same as Vidic. Clearing the so-called deadwood” has been the call from many United fans for 5 years. So you get rid of De Gea, Henderson, Fred, McTominay, Martial, Elanga, Pogba, Lingard, AWB, Sancho, Eric Bailly etc. The club then drops like a stone from 2nd and 3rd place finishes to 8th and as low as 14th this season. The real issue is not clearing out so called “deadwood” (a characterisation I do not accept). It’s who you buy to replace them and the manager you bring in. Until you get those 2 things right, you’ll never get United back at the top.
Absolutely loved this one, the questions were amazing. I'll go for one: why football? What and when did something make you go "Yes.... I'll dedicate my best efforts in life to this game." I have another one: Have you noticed an increase in bald coaches? The mayority seem to be doing great, I guess it's mostly because they have a clear head over their shoulders. That being said, would Alan entertain the idea of coaching once again now that it seems to be his era? Love you guys! Emmanuel from Argentina !
Dont know if hosts read this or if it will ever be looked at… I work in recruitment quite successfully. “Bad reputation” employers struggle to find the best staff due to word of mouth and people thinking I wouldnt work there for all the money in the world! Its a sinking ship As Man Utd have been the talk of football for many years now, will they even attract the best players? Who would want even want to go Would love your thoughts on it Gary,Alan and Micah
Ineos and Jim Ratcliffe are clearly going trying to change the model at Manchester United and it's actually very similar to what the owners at Chelsea are trying to do. They're getting rid of the highest earners, hence why forcing out Rashford and Casemiro and creating a more sustainable wage structure by buying younger and less proven talent.
Man United are not thinking about putting the ticket prices up because they already have. It's now £66 per ticket and all concessions have been cancelled. This now brings them in approx £5 Million per home game. Also, I know Sir Jim is making extensive cut-backs in the club, which I'm assuming is to stop all the leaking money that's been going on for years. It's not nice for me, as a Manchester United fan, to see all this, but I do understand why he is doing it. We are just about to spend an enormous amount of money spread over the next 5 years to build a new 100k seater stadium within a new development of the surrounding area. This is a huge commitment, and it would be irresponsible and unethical to not tighten the shoe strings while this is going on. I know many fans don't agree with me, but I have faith that Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS are doing the right thing for the club. Unfortunately, these things take time, and football fans are notoriously inpatient, especially Manchester United fans and the tabloid media that are always watching. I'm trying not to speculate or judge some of his decisions, as it is still very early in the project. In my opinion, he needs at least 5 years to achieve his goals. By the time the new stadium is complete, I want to see an exciting Manchester United team that is challenging for every top tier trophy. This is absolutely achievable and a fair length of time for him to be judged on. As I said, I have faith.
I'm not sure about Man United selling "prize" assetts.. I would rather sell the dead weight and play the youth team. We have sold homegrown players like Mctominay who werent the most gifted but always gave 110%. And kept players like Anthony, Casemiro. who are just here to pick up a paycheque. Get rid of the dead weight and keep homegrown players like Mainno, Garnacho, etc.
Do you think variation in formation at the top of the Pyramid has an influence on even Youth training or is that irrelevant? See below for my thoughts If Manchester United reach some level of success with Amorim with a 3 at the back and stick with it. It would mean that the Premier League would have a lot of variation in formations in the next couple years. Last pod y'all talked about that 2 up front was likely to come back around at some point.. so 4-4-2 likely works for someone then Manchester United gets the 3-4-3. Liverpool likely will play a 4-2-3-1 for a while given the age, quality, and fit of their players to the system. Arsenal will play a 4-3-3 (Saka being the standout and I can't see him playing in a 2). We could see a huge variety at the top in formation which would be really fun.
I am starting to wonder..... Van Gaal was sacked, complained about UTD and warned Ten Hag NOT to go and manage them. I wondered if Ten Hag was getting revenge on behalf of Van Gaal. Then came Mourinho and he was sacked under similar under appreciated circumstances and now his young protege has the UTD job he can exact further revenge on UTD. Failing for 2 years at Man UTD is HUGELY PROFITABLE (for the manager at least). The damage Ten Hag was allowed to do by incompetent owners left UTD in a position that keeps them screwed on the pitch and off the pitch for years. Amorim can now double down on this by doing the total opposite of Ten Hag while failing the same or worse and then leaving UTD in a minimum 10 year doldrums. Maybe playing championship football by mid 2026!
How do I ask a question- because my question is about the Champions League - pundits are saying the new format is great but I disagree… there was no jeopardy… every half decent team got through.. so is the new format better or is it just a super league?
Istg they've been saying (and doing this) for a few seasons now. Replace Fred and mctominay 😡. Replace de gea. Replace the CB's. They'll keep doing it but will it get any better. When they boo off players that have been there for 4 months I'm not sure another reset fixes it
Var needs to learn that the ref is in charge . Then we need to remind the ref he is in charge of the game . He needs to run var. Like rugby does . I need to know this answer or I need to see this tackle is it offside. Only in big big moments. Use it correctly or get rid of it

Like the glass, but the Toucan facing right to left looks odd to me, much prefer if it was left to right. Might be just me.
The best Everton team in history Gary. Up the Ton
Seen Rodney marsh and George best playing together past there peak but still a joy to watch
Absolutely loved this one, the questions were amazing. I'll go for one: why football? What and when did something make you go "Yes.... I'll dedicate my best efforts in life to this game."
I have another one: Have you noticed an increase in bald coaches? The mayority seem to be doing great, I guess it's mostly because they have a clear head over their shoulders. That being said, would Alan entertain the idea of coaching once again now that it seems to be his era? Love you guys! Emmanuel from Argentina !
Order:
1. Pele
2. Maradona
3. Messi
In terms of character:
1. Pele
2. Messi
3,000+ Maradona 😉
Love this podcast 🎉
Tuesday night 😂 this is filmed the same night at the Sunday recording for Monday! Even all wearing the same clothes 😂😂
Dont know if hosts read this or if it will ever be looked at… I work in recruitment quite successfully. “Bad reputation” employers struggle to find the best staff due to word of mouth and people thinking I wouldnt work there for all the money in the world! Its a sinking ship
As Man Utd have been the talk of football for many years now, will they even attract the best players? Who would want even want to go
Would love your thoughts on it Gary,Alan and Micah
You guys are the best, I love this show!
Do some evening match watch-a-longs partner with Guiness and we can all watch along with our own Guiness!!!
Peter Beardsley, what a player!!!!!
They are on the RESET button. They are starting afresh, give them a chance!
Same question about January signings, but none of the ‘big 6’ clubs 🤔
For all their technical superiority modern payers seem to really struggle when it comes to knowing how to play the game.
Shamus Coleman 60k and still going 15 years later phenomenal business COYG❤️❤️❤️
Imagine Micah doing Danicing on Ice. Fall and break the ice
Very savage mate.
Big Meeks doing a Rhumba! Now that would be something!
I'd renew my TV Licence for that!
Maybe we should try the reset button at the owners level
@23.13 'Et al' chaps, not 'ET TA' 👍
How many times will they hit the reset button? Wasn't the hiring of Amorim a reset?
I'm not sure about Man United selling "prize" assetts.. I would rather sell the dead weight and play the youth team. We have sold homegrown players like Mctominay who werent the most gifted but always gave 110%. And kept players like Anthony, Casemiro. who are just here to pick up a paycheque. Get rid of the dead weight and keep homegrown players like Mainno, Garnacho, etc.
Do you think variation in formation at the top of the Pyramid has an influence on even Youth training or is that irrelevant? See below for my thoughts
If Manchester United reach some level of success with Amorim with a 3 at the back and stick with it.
Guinness raising their prices again these sponsorships must be expensive
They said they running out due to high demand..😄😄
@@magomeniboi my work
Has been out of stock for weeks and I do wholesale
Re Man u - So top proffessional footballers cant adapt to a style of play, wat??
Shearer in Toon, matches any Del piero in Turin attention beleive
Del Piero Interview!?
Wonders how many questions there would be about doping and the 'Juve fridge'....lol
Big reset needed, it will take 3-5 years to get back to the standards the club is used too
Last time I went there was a terrible sewerage smell in Stretford end
Man utd will never lift the EPL trophy again if they keep on buying expensive players that can't play football as a team.
It’s all about the money with modern day players💰 not legacy
As a Liverpool fan i find their situation fucking hilarious 😂😂😭😭😭
Micha, I never even saw Gary play
Use it correctly or get rid of it
And you can call that episode 'The Rest is Food(ball)'...😉
I can’t believe Maureen’s got mentioned on this pod 😂😂😂💙💛
Well if they need to sell, he Armorim needs to refrain from bad mouthing players publicly doesn't he
Thankfully Micah didn't go way out left, or else he would have been encroaching into Lineker's space.
The “start, bench, sell” questions are so boring at this point. And the one asked this podcast is beyond braindead.
