She made us Estonians proud, huge respect to her fighting someone much older then she is. I'm sure she learned a lot from this fight and will come back stronger🤗👍👍👍
She took the punishment and showed guts. She was well beaten, but by a far more mature and experienced fighter. She can come back and will I'm sure.
Where are you from in Estonia? Just over a week ago I visited Marie's hometown of Parnu
even though she was crushed she fought to the end. That alone deserves respect.
She learned to avoid fighters of equal height as her. She needs to keep fighting shorter girls, it's her only advantage.
She didn’t lose because she is younger. she should be stronger because she is younger.
I can't believe the skill and speed demonstrated by the girl with the dark hair. Incredible. At the same time, the blonde girl has to be one of the toughest human beings I've seen in the ring, ... There are so many seasoned professionals who would have quit and dropped and stopped fighting long before she did. Wow! Absolutely incredible from both of them.
Ruumet has heart....She'll be back stronger...
meksen just has far too much power and aggression for ruumet at this stage in her career...respect to the snow leopard for being game af, i'm sure she'll learn a lot from this one-sided loss.

I've been watching Ruumet for awhile and watched her dominate in a few short years.But I always wondered how she would do against world class athletes...got my answer..wow. my heart went out to her. Who the hell are her coaches?? Didnt they know who her competition was ??aneesa has dominated with her boxing skills over and over for years. I hope Marie isn't ruined and broken. She has the raw talent but needs good people around her. GOOD PEOPLE OR COACHES would never let her take that beating they should have seen in the first round she was badly out classed.

Marie was a boss hanging in there like that. She’s tough as Hell. Hope it didn’t bother her too much and she just uses it as a experience gained. Props to both fighters.
This was a flat-out bad card. These two ladies shouldn't have been matched outside a sparing / teaching session. Did Marie learn? I think so. I *want* to know what Anissa said to her after the final bell. Those words will make or break Ruumet. From the body language of both fighters, I feel it was in the "make" column. I mean, she did hold her own against a pro while wearing a t-shirt in the cage and made it all the way to the end. The heart required to still throw down your opponent after being pushed to the fence is telling. I expect to see her again, but someone needs to throw a wet noodle at either the promoter, or Marie's corner; or both.
@@fshalor738 There’s a clip of the two talking after the match. It was a positive, encouraging exchange; however I think most people would agree with your statement.

This isn't just uneven, this is a straight up beat down. Ruumet had nothing to answer with.. Meksen was extremely aggressive, and Ruumet's counters were just brushed off as they (seemingly) completely lacked any power.

Meksen punches sound like bombs even when blocked, and her speed is insane.
Marie Ruumet has a beautiful style of Muay Thai, and also one that is usually really effective against aggressive punchers like Anissa Meksen. I think the problem for her in this match wasn't really tactic, but simply the sheer difference in power between the two. Marie's strikes looked like light taps compared to Anissa's, which were all hitting like a bag of hammers. I love Marie, I hope she recovers from this loss soon, gets some more power behind her strikes and goes on to have an amazing career. This was a bit of a mismatch, but she definitely has a lot of promise.
what i don't understand is that wasn't completely obvious for her and her coach that anissa meksen, janet todd, tiffany van soest etc. are way over her in power and (at least) in boxing skills?
Just a clash of styles and physical attributes, props to Ruumet for staying in there and going the distance.
@Rednose APBT I agree! As soon as she realized she wasn't able to keep Meksen at kicking range, she should have gone straight for the clinch. She has some amazing elbows, and as a kickboxer, I think Meksen would have had a hard time defending against them. But you are right, I think at that point she was too scared of Meksen's power, hence why she didn't even try.
@@manuelalejandroaldrete2510 that was the first time that somebody wanted to knock her out with real intention (2nd round, not in the third when meksen decided no to finish her brutally)
@@KovacsZoltan12 You might be right. I think she is an amazing martial artist, but her style needs to get pressure tested a lot more. She needs to learn how to defend agaisnt hits that are thrown with deadly intent, and respond in the same way. You can have the best technique ever, but if you step into a ring and try fight an aggressive oponent like you are in some light and technical sparring session, you are going to get mauled.
Ruumet just had the unfortunate experience of facing a real professional fighter after being hyped up by everyone in her adolescent career to the point where they all believed the hype! She was just lucky Meksen used restraint, as she could have crushed her completely. By not doing that, there is more chance that Marie will get back up and work harder with a more realistic view of what it takes. She's tough, but her trainers should never have agreed to this fight. Too big a jump!

I've known about Marie Ruumet for a couple of years but only recently learned about Meksen. Very impressive fighter.
I hope this doesn’t ruin Ruumet’s career. She took a beating. Meksen’s a beast. Ruumet’s got guts. No one is lining up to fight Meksen. How did this fight get sanctioned. Respect but looked like a “Pro vs Joe” episode.

Knew this matchup would be one sided, meksen defeated Tiffany van soest. She’s a straight beat and Marie is an up and comer. She’s a kid. Whoever made this matchup is a little clueless
see smilla sundell, or think of young shevchenko, meksen, etc and forget this "kid" thing. marie simply a bad boxer and has no real power, she may be a decent fighter but has nothing to do with top-level competitors.
In general this is a bad excuse for a fighter you like - In Boxing and Muay Thai the old champs get beat by people 10 years younger - her boxing is weak - I would say she fighting a woman that was born a male just from looking - so in her defense

Marie could have won, against à slower paced fighter
She is a good technician but still has much to learn. I still cant believe most of the times she rollled to her left, which was Anissa right and power side !
Anissa is Just too got to let this opportunité pass her by. And her left hooks. Its scary how fast and powerful they were

I am new as a spectator and from what I have seeing you seem to be right. I tend to like the slower more technical type fights. One seems to have too many mismatched just for the beat downs. Makes me question if those fights are really a sport

Marie Rumet is a brave woman, her boxing guard is very good, she has a good defense and also a good kick , the only thing that she misse is her punch game but it could improve for her next fights

If I was Anissa, I would have tried not to go for KO but just on the borderline rough her up, just so I don't mess with her stats, and help her progress. We all know Ruumet was the only one brave/kind enough to accept match-up. So that would be my thanks back. No KO for you. You get to keep a good ratio.

Marrie, it can be difficult to fight someone that's focussed on offense, and there's really only one way to deal with them, TAKE THEM DOWN, and treat them to your elbows. Just a little judo toss and get on 'em. You did a fine job of defending, but turn the tables on them by getting aggressive and putting them down and at your mercy.

@@iseeyoulookin4807 Well, Marie's a Muay Thia fighter and now that you've mentioned it, I doubt taking her opponent down is allowed. And I don't know about elbows either. She was fighting a very aggressive girl and I don't really know what to say about that. Run at you with punches?, maybe a hard upper cut to the jaw? And follow up with a knee in the gut?

You can tell there was some mercy from Meksen despite beating her down. There were times when she didn't want to hit her. Especially when Ruumet cried a little heading off to her corner. (I watched this card live, Meksen was a lot more apprehensive than these highlights make haha, she took the foot off the gas at times)

Ruumet has talent but still young. A few years and some strengthening/toughening up and she will have a bright future.
Anissa's thanks for accepting the match-up when all other fighters are missing in action, is not to ruin her stats with a KO. You get to go home with a well earned loss, and some new experience. I respect both fighters.

I’ve heard ruumets Connor said that she should get the clinch position and use her knees, but he was saying in Thai, that might be a game changer if she utilize more clinch, knees and push kicks.
