    Awesome video! I can tell you put a lot of time, thought, and effort into your videos and that really shines through! I definitely want to do this hike this spring, I live in Fresno so I get a good mix of Coastal and Sierra Nevada hiking year round, Happy Trails! Thanks again

    Thanks Nikko! I just moved to Monterey so I'll be exploring all these places. Great video editing, and awesome prep info at the end! Going on this hike today.

    Thank you for the video! At what point are you @ 3:48? Would this be where Rocky Ridge and Peak Trail meet?

    • @NCGTravel
      @NCGTravel  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is at the summit along the Rocky Ridge trail, closer to the furthest west point of the trail before you start the descent down on the Rocky Ridge trail. When you're at the Rocky Ridge/Peak Trail crossing, you have to continue west on the Rocky Ridge Trail and you'll come across these patches of rocks.

      Thank you! This is the closed trail just for clarification correct?@@NCGTravel

      @@ScottBaker-Hoffman-h7p Yes, it was closed at one point! Don't know if it is anymore. I'm sure many people still hike it.

    I used to hike here a lot. It can be strenuous to do the loop up the canyon then up to the ridge top and down. Spring time for the best wildflowers. Great views from the top. These days be carefull parking and pulling out into traffic speeding by on the highway. Expect lots of people hiking here.

    I don't know if anyone has the same issue with me. Whenever I play this video on my Samsung tv, the video will just pause at 0:21 but the audio is still playing... and then the screen becomes black and the TH-cam app won't work anymore. This is really an interesting bug because I've tried other videos and they all worked fine except this one.

      thanks for that, i've reported the issue. hopefully youtube actually does something about it.

    You said 2nd favorite, what is your first? You know of any other good hikes between 6-20 miles? In from Monterey aswell.

      My other favorite is the loop at Andrew Molera, both of these trails are pretty much tied as my favorite. I like this trail because it's closer to Monterey. I'd suggest backpacking to Syke's, I haven't done it yet but it's on my to-do list!

    Is there a way where you can just hike the Rocky Ridge trail and back down??

    • @NCGTravel
      @NCGTravel  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Look at the "Doud Peak" trail map: www.alltrails.com/trail/us/california/doud-peak?u=i&sh=hpmnk4 I believe the Rocky Ridge trail is technically now closed. There's a fence that people crawl under or if you enter through the Soberanes Canyon trail, there's a trail split to the Rocky Ridge trail in the beginning.

      Upper Yosemite Falls is also my favorite. Was looking for a new trail, since I've worn out Toro Park, Garland Ranch, and several other local spots. Was lead here by your review on AllTrails. Thank you for sharing this content :)
