My Machinist/gunsmith would't thread my MAK90 and he didn't know anyone who would. So, I bought the CNC kit and did it myself. Took maybe 1/2 hour and worked flawlessly. Thanks Alden and CNC
Thanks for the video, just did mine as your showed. Easy as hell. The only suggestion I would make... before I started I shoved a cleaning patch down the barrel just beyond the depth of the guide and pushed it out the end of the barrel with a cleaning rod when I was done. Believe it or not didn't have a single metal shaving in the barrel. My Mak90 is now ready to rock-n-roll as this was the last thing to do to it. I took the “Bush-hole” stock off and replaced the furniture with a Bulgarian set. Time to throw a couple of 75 round drums on it tomorrow and see what it will do.
I just threaded my Mak90 and came out perfect!! instructions are ok, but nothing beats hands on instructions. And you do a superb job. Thanks for keeping this video up.great work!
2019 and thanking you for your video. picked up a mak90 a few weeks ago and been doing a lot of research.. thank you for making your video so informative
Excellent video! I have really been debating doing this myself and you made me feel more confident that I can do this to my sks that I am building. Many thanks friend!
MAK-90 Barrel had been ground down too small for the 14x1 lh to thread, Im a fan of the phantom muzzle brake so I know the 7.62 bullet will have no problem clearing and performing..but what is common procedure for MAK's that have had their threads ground down too small? Is it possible to thread to 1/2-28 and just make sure there is 7.62/308 Clearance? What are people doing? Any Info wud be great guys!
@Magnum Mountaineer keep in mind they just ground down the threads on mine, but MAK-90's are different too, some milled and all of the later NHM-90's, NHM-91's and MAK-91's had diff receiver thickness and the 91's had long barrels. You need to go here and read closely www.southernoutdoorlife.com/mouseguns/mak90web/mak90.htm
Hey Dude. I was watching this video and saw a similar issue with my romainian ak 7.62 threading. Do you have any suggestion on what muzzle thread measurement I should use and muzzle I should use? Hope you can help me.
Great video.Tried to order kit @ cnc warrior site .Any idea when threading kits will be back in stock? Detent can be added to FSB by drilling hole for it.Used slant brake for detent hole location. Detent & spring from polytechparts dot com

Dude you're like the Bob Ross of threading the Mak 90. 100/100
This video gave me the confidence to try this myself. Will probably watch it 100 more times before i do it. I’ll update in a week!

What about the pin that holds the brake?
Thank you for showing I just pulled mine out of storage and did this modification. Very easy very simple.

TH-cam is great this is exactly what I needed to know
The thread cutters are currently out of stock at CNC Warrior. Must be on backorder.
First yt-video on this subject that I've seen where the guide is used correctly.
GREAT video, better than everything else out there. Thank you!
Thanks for watching!
Brilliant vid man, CNC Warrior should give you a stipend because this just sold me one of their kits.
Great detail in your video. It gives me confidence I can accomplish this. Thanks!
Great video! May be a stupid question but is that a right hand thread or left hand thread when ordering from CNC warrior?

I am guessing there was no need to annular cutter?
Seems like a brass washer would be good, in case you need to compress them a tad to line up the brake?
Great job, brother. Glad I ran across this video. A-Z guide, it was. Much appreciated.
Thank you!!!
I just did mine and made a video of it but I won't be posting it to TH-cam because I suck at making videos but the barrel turned out great.

At 1:50 you say "five hundred and fourty eight thousandts " when the caliper actually reads .488 or so??
Do you have a link to that muzzle brake? Great video!
So in your case it wasnt necessary to use an annular cutter before you were able to threading your barrel? How long is your thread now?
Any idea if the 14x1 die Carolina Shooting Supply sells is basically the same thing? CNC was out of stock
Thank you brother I’m ordering the same kit
Where and how did you made the order thanks
My mak 90 had a threaded barrel, with a nut completely welded on. I had to Dremel it off and it was a huge pain in the ass to get off.
No Nonsense easy to follow. Thanks
Sorry I know this was posted years back but did your MAK90 barrel have grooves like it’s treaded? If so did you have to file them smooth first?
No it had no pre threads
Where did you get the threading kit and what's the part number for the kit? THANKS
Dickey Moore the link is in description
When he says liberally oiled he means oiled with absolutely zero common sense.
Like your 2 videos “zero common sense”
Put a BD2 MD muzzle on it.....
Bill Clinton just had a stroke.
Is CNC warrior around anymore? They don't seem to respond to any messages.
