Hello from Alberta Canada. Been fortunate to enjoy all that Clarity brings every week since you started, but this posting in particular shows who you really are. Your total non judgemental supportive understanding of the prospective buyers decision not to complete the purchase is amazing. Especially after a haul out, inspection and living under the shadow of petroleum tank farm. Then to end the segment with your special style of humor, going for a walk too funny. Sincerely hope the right purchaser comes forward just as soon as possible. Cant wait to see what comes next see you next week.
Been in their spot ourselves. It's a big decision. Maybe they get a smaller boat first, learn on that, then move up. It will all work out for the best.
I have clarity knowing that I can't afford Clarity even if I wanted to have Clarity. Therefore, I am clear about what I can do and can't. But, the dream can continue. Happy Trails
So many feels!!!... I am at this exact point in my life. I just sold off all my stuff, couch, bedroom set, everything but the plates and dishes. House is for sale and I am on the prowl for my first sailboat, which is both my future and my future home. So excited, scared, optimistic, and prayerful. Follow your dreams and live your best life, its the only one we get. Love your channel, keep it up!
We envy your positive attitude but are happy we didn't see this video until this morning. We've been going through the process of selling our boat with some agonizing frustrating up and downs. The sale finally closed last night, a month after survey and a "conditional acceptance". We were definitely on the other side of zen, unlike you guys. Hoping all goes well with the next iteration. You are an inspiration.
Great Video... I love how real your channel feels... the good times of course, but also the "not so good"... I see and appreciate the "Live and Learn" attitude you share... but I feel the pain as well!! Love the music!
What a sail!! Just got back from sailing my first time on a Voyage 480 in the BVI. What a trip. I am still working o kids moving through school, but eventually I will achieve Clarity... ;-)
there are always silver linings, as you allude to about good news, bad news. I'm sure you have even more gratitude for the joy of each additional day with Clarity.
Best times in a boaters life is buying, then selling our loved cruisers. So happy to have met you, and look forward to your continuing adventures, on the water, and land!
Wow... We are just a few months from all this. We had some close friends over last night and sent them home with some personal belongings I've had since college. So glad to find a good home. The house sale is coming up in June and then the real boat search starts. It is all numb at this point. We have been at this house for 15 years. We will be leaving Colorado which has been our home for like 30 years and a job of over 20 years. You just don't know how you will handle it until it all goes down. TBC... GLWTS. I'm guessing second time's the charm :) f
We shall see. It's an emotional thing for all involved. Really quite unavoidable. This is why brokers are sometimes vital to the process. We are excited for you guys and can't wait to see what direction you go in. We think a garage might be required, so a big boat needed! LOL
btw, held up in Marathon due to winds trying to sail to the Exumas from Tampa - Probably not going to make it due to time constraints. Had all your Exuma anchorages green flaged, thankyou for the episode break down.. Thank you for your Calm Inspiration.
Latest O'Kelly update? Hot off the presses! Having won the lottery, we quickly completed a rather largish Catamaran for increased speed, comfort, and stability. Due to the fact that nothing ever goes wrong on boats, we are sailing it just the two of us. We can't moor near New York City because it puts too much of the city in the shade, and that is without even the self-furling sails hoisted! Sadly, we put up the sail near a city once and the resultant shade cast them into the equivalent of a nuclear winter, with temperatures well below freezing. People were freezing to crisps on their balconies and sidewalks! There is a slight problem sailing in our leeward side, as the "wingtip vortices" from our sails cause category 2 tornados/waterspouts. Not to mention the dangerous tsunamis caused when we come about or jibe anywhere near a land mass. We accidentally drowned a blue whale as it submerged in fear when we came by, but alas, by the end of the day, which is how long it took us to pass over at our 50kt cruising speed, the poor creature had run out of air! To baffle the world's submarine fleet, we play an endless loop of insanely loud whale song, flatulence, digestive, breathing, bubble corraling and eating sounds to trick them into thinking they have encountered Moby Dick's bigger brother. More than once we have seen nuclear subs surface against all protocols to behold this marvel of pleistocene sea life. Once, unfortunately, we heard a small bang on the hull and found we had accidentally rammed the USS Gerald R. Ford and sunk it because it cut sharply in front of us unexpectedly from windward and got plowed under by our razor-sharp prow. However, as a token of good will we dumped our tender, Diamonds are Forever, over the side to give each and ever sailor a safe, comfortable, and speedy passage home! We can get it back the next lap around the globe, which we estimate will take us few weeks. We look forward to showing you around the RMS Tyrannic 2 whenever we can charter a 747 to land on one of the decks. It will not need arrestor gear for that nor a catapult for the takeoff. Due to the hulls often being in different time zones, I love to pay Megan Tuesday for a hamburger today, when, in fact, it's the exact same moment on the boat. We have corroborated with some ships in providing them shade while at anchor straddling Bermuda or other such little islands. It makes the cruising experience more fun when you can take shelter under the middle of a large catamaran. Currently, a second Panama Canal is planned, so we have asked that they space the canals so that boat can traverse the canal for those times we are in more of a rush. The mast makes it easy to ascend, having an elevator that has openings and balconies at several levels to ease maintenance and weather surveillance, though we ARE often looking down on the weather, but that does yield the bonus of being able to spot cyclonic or anticyclonic cloud formations from over 200 miles away. Anticipating a conductive mast could cause lightning problems, we had ours commissioned using boron fiber, which yielded the bonus of having a pale white unadorned mast, which saves several thousand barrels of paint each year. We also have polo fields and cricket pitches on some of our smaller tenders as an experiment in greening the boats. Exercise is a cinch, as we can walk, run, bike, or drive Liebherr mining trucks around on the decks, whichever the mood suits. Our central living spaces have some transplanted Sequoias, some of which start on one of the lower hull decks, so their cute little tops can just peek over the edge of some of the center decks joining the two hulls. With our 1.5 gigawatts of solar power, we have made somewhat of a side hustle of powering large cities during the daytime. We considered a wind turbine to take advantage of the abundant wind resources over 1000 feet, but it would have led to confusing readings to radar simultaneously on both sides of the Atlantic. The highlight of the sporting events is the America's Cup yacht race we hold in our main recreation pool every four years. Anyway, just an update! Hope to see you out there before we find we have accidentally run over you or run aground as we did in that mid-Pacific no-land-above-water surfing spot and, well, no part of it is shallow enough any longer to even consider surfing.
@1:51 - Deep words.. I am so sad that Clarity is going away.. But, excited that you are going on another journey... All I can say is, "Love you O'Kelley's.. Loads of love from India.. When you come here, please call me.. I will cook for you.."
The new boat better have room for the Gale Boetticher coffee rig. (Maybe the coffee should be called, "Clarity". You could serve up some clarity every morning.)
Great sailing footage in this episode. Should be enough to make anyone want to be sailing in the Bahamas! I'm sure with your attitude things will all come together for a win-win sale of Clarity.
I've been watching your channel since you got the boat. I think I've watched every video since. I love the knowledge you have with weather as I'm also very interested in that as well. I've been building my home that I've planed on selling since the beginning with my own hands and no hired labor. When done with it, I plan on getting a nice Schionning because I love the way it looks. That curved front cross beam looks so cool as well as the inside layout. It's a performance catamaran and that's what I'm looking for. I guess it could be another brand but the used market on a Schionning is I think my price point. My goal is to sail around the world in tropical waters. I dream of giving up the land life and going on an adventure like your doing. I really want to learn how to kite surf. Hopefully you get a nice performance catamaran that other TH-cam channels don't have. You've got to pick out something supper cool.
Great Video that captures the emotions. You are two very kind people & an amazing couple! (And I️ did notice when Nick declared “No Hard feelings at all”, he cleverly hid his hands below the table in case his fingers crossed autonomously. 😉)
@@TheOKellys True, but some folks in the same situation will get irate about it, we sold our house and it was a 3 month closing date, as time goes by you think "will they back out" but if they do, then it wasn't meant to be. But we are starting to get mail addressed to them, so "seems" lie they will go through with it - HA!

Look at the bright side- now you have a very recent survey to offer potential buyers. Best wishes and good luck with the sale and the search for your next boat!
Thought I would let you know that earlier this week I ordered a new mainsail and new headsail from Ullman Sails (Mandeville, Louisiana) for my Beneteau 42s7.
Very skillful video to rekindle buyer interest in all the amazing experiences. Sadly I have another 10-15 years before I can think about retiring and sailing away.
As much as I am sorry to hear of your guys sale falling short, I am happy to see that you guys still have a vessel. Not going to lie, you both have a great way of creating the hunger to get out on the water! Hope you guys find a buyer soon....buttt not too soon!
It is amazing just how attached you can become to a boat. Just a boat, that has taken you to adventurous places, weathered storms, big seas and cost you big bucks. Still one of the most emotional moments I’ve, we’ve , experienced was turning REALITY over to new owners after 9 years Caribbean cruising as live a board sailors.
The sale of my 32’ Farrier tri fell through last week, I had nothing lined up to replace her just she wasn’t going to be used for 8 months after which I’d have a fair injection of $’s to add to something larger and owned outright, ironically the night before I was trying to think of an excuse to back out of the sale, keep and update her as there’s nothing I can realistically replace her with, at least nothing short of double the price... add that my circumstances only allow me to stay in local waters: funny, selling a boat you’ve spent so much time in is like selling part of your soul, I got that with maybe two motorcycles out of over 400 (I build them as well as race etc) and only a few cars.
Nick- if the soundtrack is your music, congrats! I've always enjoyed your compositions, but I 'm hearing more depth and wonderful rhythms. Inspiring - on many levels. Well Done. Cheers, Don...
@06:03 - Looks like I am commenting too much... My apologies.. But that was funny!! You live on a boat and get an umbrella??!! Bwahahaha!! This is why I like O'Kelly's!!
Ive got $32 Australian if you are interested. You will have to deliver it to me here in australia……..a few legal issues mean I can’t really leave at the moment😒 Well, unless I had a boat🤔
It’s all good, you tried to do the right thing and it didn’t work out, no harm no foul…but now this is business, just go with the offer that is best for you two 👍🏻
Wow, my post has vanished? I did find the first video of sale for Clarity and watched it again with my hubby! We are going over the specs on this vessel online! I am well aware of all the upgrades as I follow the channel! We are in the market! Yet we are over here in Italy and would rather buy from and in The ICW's rather than buying here as you have already established ports for services, warranties for new parts and such.
Just a bump in the road for you guys - it is very humbling that you share so openly your experience. We are now less than 3 months before casting the lines - nice to hear where you are emotionally - hope to meet you guys on our journey and maybe we can host a good taco experience for you
So, do you have another boat lined up already? I am not sure why you are selling, other than you want a couple of extra knots in speed. I hope you find what you're looking for and not make a big mistake, but it's your life and wishing you the best!
In the very beginning, when you cleaned out the house and put yourselves on the boat, how did you decide what to do with your mementos (childhood and adulthood)? That seems to me to be a big challenge. As you've pointed out many times, 'stuff' can weigh down a boat.
Cold feet? Too bad all they did was waste your time. They should have been mentally, physically, emotionally, prepared to commit before ever arriving in port for the survey.
Yeh thought we vetted them well on the phone. I don’t think they were trying to deceive us…they probably thought they were ready. But reality has a way of slapping ya in the face….and the ocean is full of reality….
Well I am new to the channel only sailing experience is in a sunfish and on a cruise ship. I am not a Patreon so I guess I am not too loyal and not too interested in purchasing a catamaran but...watching how the sale of your boat plays out is definitely interesting and informative. Thanks for taking the time to film the experience and to make it fun to watch.
You guys are awesome anyone else would not have been as understanding, i wish i hadthe means to take it off your hands but i also have 0 exp sailing so idk if i would be a good fit for the boat lol. One day, one day i will be sailing on the ocean blue.
There shall be no wine before it's time... Hey Nick, do you ever dread having to talk to some harbour control people over the radio? I couldn't understand a word that man was saying! Oh the anxiety! Lol.
If you have ever stood at the helm of your boat and rotated 360 degrees while looking at the horizon and saw nothing but the horizon then and only then you will understand the meaning of Clarity.
That was a very diplomatic response publicly folks. That was a lot to go through for a walk away... Privately cannot be repeated...its ok Been there Just make the next call an economic one only... Kapish ?
Sorry to hear that the sale didn't go through but it does happen. I feel that the next buyer will complete the sale and it will be a far better match for both you and Clarity.
"friends friends, bussiness aside" my literal translation from a portuguese expression. you are a cool couple, thus you kept your cool, not surprised at all with that! next time?! take the damn highest bidder, get the dough, say your goodbyes and onwards to the next boat! oh and bring all that coffee withya
Like the old sayings go…” business and friendship don’t mix”…. “Business is business”. It’s nice to have loyalties, but when it comes down to that kind of money…..you know….
Sometimes cold feet can just be a sign that something isn't right for you personally the person with that gut feeling. Love your attitude about this, and the right buyer will come along!

No matter what travels we will follow your show. I like it because your funny.and informative.
Thought I would let you know that earlier this week I ordered a new mainsail and new headsail from Ullman Sails (Mandeville, Louisiana) for my Beneteau 42s7.
I’m missing you guys Under the Sheets 😘
we will be back!
Sure wish I were ready to make a purchase. Wife accompanied me to the boat show here in Yokohama last month and she even enjoyed it. Baby steps.
Very skillful video to rekindle buyer interest in all the amazing experiences. Sadly I have another 10-15 years before I can think about retiring and sailing away.
Don't wait John!
As much as I am sorry to hear of your guys sale falling short, I am happy to see that you guys still have a vessel. Not going to lie, you both have a great way of creating the hunger to get out on the water! Hope you guys find a buyer soon....buttt not too soon!
LOL. Thanks Michael. We will land on our feet. It's going to be better than we could have ever expected. Always the case.
Well, next lotto is next Monday so I let you know how it goes...:)
Nice video and again I love the music...m gracias bests
It is amazing just how attached you can become to a boat. Just a boat, that has taken you to adventurous places, weathered storms, big seas and cost you big bucks. Still one of the most emotional moments I’ve, we’ve , experienced was turning REALITY over to new owners after 9 years Caribbean cruising as live a board sailors.
How much are you asking though? Just curious.
Great video guys
OMG 😱 WOW ‼️ A most perfectly choreographed episode guys ‼️ 👍 ✨ 🌊 💨 ⛵️ 🏝 👙 🌞 ✨ Just beautiful.
The sale of my 32’ Farrier tri fell through last week, I had nothing lined up to replace her just she wasn’t going to be used for 8 months after which I’d have a fair injection of $’s to add to something larger and owned outright, ironically the night before I was trying to think of an excuse to back out of the sale, keep and update her as there’s nothing I can realistically replace her with, at least nothing short of double the price... add that my circumstances only allow me to stay in local waters: funny, selling a boat you’ve spent so much time in is like selling part of your soul, I got that with maybe two motorcycles out of over 400 (I build them as well as race etc) and only a few cars.
.. Cheers to you ..
Curious, if not sold yet where would I find the listing?
This is the listing. Along with the other videos
You guys are the greatest i knew it the first time I watched one video and was hooked thanks I wish I could buy her
Nick- if the soundtrack is your music, congrats!
This will be my last comment.. No more..
lol, no we always like to hear from you
Downsize plus speed equals Dragonfly 35 or 40?
Ive got $32 Australian if you are interested. You will have to deliver it to me here in australia……..a few legal issues mean I can’t really leave at the moment😒
Well, unless I had a boat🤔
My favorite picture her with the umbrella in the ocean I love you guy's
So funny to see you in the water with a umbrella 😂. We're sure you will sell your nice boat very quickly. 🤞
Did I just see you guys anchored off of Georgetown in Great Exuma??
No, must have been someone else….
A grand gesture: erring on the side of loyalty; alas for cold feet, as the sea is a fickle mistress to woo.
Excellent, now you can get a mono hull.
A halfamaran? Nah, I might tip over
It’s all good, you tried to do the right thing and it didn’t work out, no harm no foul…but now this is business, just go with the offer that is best for you two 👍🏻
We did, but we refuse to get jaded over it. Just a bump. Learned a lot. Always do. No harm no foul indeed.
Hmm how did i miss this episode?? Sorry O'Kelly's for my old post...
Do I recall correctly that you had about 40 offers before? Did none of those pan out? Wow. Nice boat - it will make someone very happy, no doubt.
There were maybe 8 serious, qualified offers. Five of them bought other boats in the ensuing three weeks. We are quickly moving forward now.
Just a bump in the road for you guys - it is very humbling that you share so openly your experience. We are now less than 3 months before casting the lines - nice to hear where you are emotionally - hope to meet you guys on our journey and maybe we can host a good taco experience for you
did you say ....tacos?
So, do you have another boat lined up already? I am not sure why you are selling, other than you want a couple of extra knots in speed. I hope you find what you're looking for and not make a big mistake, but it's your life and wishing you the best!
Took me this long to see ...The bus came by and Nick got on.... Bertha to Clarity..... So Many Roads...
Agreed.
I still don't understand doing all the workout just did but then sell
Lol.
I have bad hearing, so it is a task to be sure. But they are patient with me usually. The longer I'm down here though...the more it seeps in.
@@TheOKellys Awesome man... yeah, I have tinnitus, so can relate to bad hearing too... what's that? 👂
If you have ever stood at the helm of your boat and rotated 360 degrees while
looking at the horizon and saw nothing but the horizon then and only then you will understand the meaning of Clarity.
Indeed.
I guess this means you are free to take the higher offer (if they are still interested)?
That was a very diplomatic response publicly folks. That was a lot to go through for a walk away...
Privately cannot be repeated...its ok
Been there
Just make the next call an economic one only...
Kapish ?
Exactly
Sounds like someone needs to purchase a copy of 'Get Her On Board' by Nick O'Kelly
Some times things are for a reason , Life is not a rehearsal enjoy every day .
Sorry to hear that the sale didn't go through but it does happen. I feel that the next buyer will complete the sale and it will be a far better match for both you and Clarity.
I don't know how to sail, i'm broke, but if i could, i would buy clarity 😜🤣🌅⛵
I will miss you Clarity, I 🙏 ALL your dreams come true 🥰❤️🔥🌎 🤲💦😇💦 thank you Amen & Amen.
Awwww you should have picked us lol Too late we just bought a Lagoon 380
"friends friends, bussiness aside" my literal translation from a portuguese expression. you are a cool couple, thus you kept your cool, not surprised at all with that! next time?! take the damn highest bidder, get the dough, say your goodbyes and onwards to the next boat! oh and bring all that coffee withya
Very wise. Live and learn, live and learn....we are perpetual students of life.
Wait what double bean bags!! They have that or is that a Clarity only item?? 😂🤣😂🤣👍👍👊👊
I want that so much. I don't know how to do it.
Like the old sayings go…” business and friendship don’t mix”…. “Business is business”. It’s nice to have loyalties, but when it comes down to that kind of money…..you know….
you are right. lesson learned.
Are you buying a monohull? Please tell me its an Amel 60?
No, but that is one badass boat
@@TheOKellys “No, not an Amel 60.” Or, “No, not a monohull?”
Either is a good answer, but I’m pulling for a monohull ⛵️
